I was asked if I like to review Star Wars Top Trumps Match Cube Game and I said yes as my eldest loves playing games and she’s also a Star Wars fan.The game is in a lovely design cardboard box and the age range is for 6 years and above. When you open it’s box you’ll find that It comes in its own self-contained plastic case so you a take it anywhere, (great for taking on your holiday and keeping the kids entertained). It’s easy to set up and to pack away. The cubes have photos of the main characters that are in the Rebel Alliance and the First Order. The object of the game is to match 5 cubes in a row, be it horizontally, vertically or diagonally. My eldest has had a lot of fun playing this game with her friends.Directions of how to play the game are:- First you load the 25 cubes into the game grid, making sure there are no more than 2 of the same character in the same row, column or diagonal. Then you shuffle the 15 Top Trumps character cards and deal two each, face down, into the spaces for the cards in front of each player, (no cheating, as you can’t look at the cards). The first player starts the game by pushing out their top left corner cube on the other side of the game grid. Then the second player picks up the cube and uses it to push out and replace any of the cubes in the other game grid. Then you have to repeat play, taking it in turns to push through cubes. The aim is to get 5 of the same characters lined up horizontally, vertically or diagonally. You may have to put your final cube into the empty hole to complete your life of 5. Then when you have 5 matching cubes in a row, shout: 'MATCH!'The final step is you have to show the losing player which set of characters you've collected. The losing player turns over the 2 cards dealt to them at the beginning. If either of the cards matches the winning player's line of 5, they take the match and have won. It's a really good game and a lot of fun, both my eldest and her friends thought it was great as they are huge fans of the Star Wars Saga. All the family have enjoyed playing this game. I think it would make a great Christmas or Birthday gift for any Star Wars fan who loves playing games.I can highly recommend this game.

My kids love these - they have an Avengers one also and it's simple enough for my 3yr old to understand and competitive enough for my older ones to enjoy as well. This basically involves several cubes with different pictures on each side and the aim of the game is to create a whole line of matching characters by pushing a cube out onto your opponents side and inserting one from your side hence the frustration for the other player if they're about to complete a line and then you replace one of theirs with yours, breaking it up. The player then cannot move that same cube again - they have to pick another. It's a fast paced game.Lots of fun - one you've completed a line all the same the other player then turns over their 2 face down cards and if one of them depicts the character the other player has made then the other player actually wins! The game can take around 10-30mins to play - quicker once players grasp the strategy etc.Great fun for any age and a really great gift idea.Recommended and highly addictive, keeps the children busy!

The Star Wars Top Trumps Match Cube Game does not really bear much resemblance to any other Top Trumps game that we have ever played, but it still allowed us to pass a bit of time on a home-based family day.The idea of the game is quite simple, whereby you try to create a five-in-a-row before your opponent realises what you are aiming for. It has a little end twist to the game, which can allow the 'winner' to suddenly lose, based purely on luck of the draw. What I really like about it, is how transportable it is. Definitely a great one to pack for a trip away, in case the weather is against you and you find yourselves needing indoor activities.I would recommend this as a good game that spans the ages well.Your average four year old could definitely play this with an older sibling, and so it would make a good distraction for when the kids have got a little too noisy, and need an activity to settle them back down.

A star wars inspired game of connect 5.The Star Wars inspired branding means that the force is strong in this toy. The idea behind the game is to try to complete a row/column or diagonal with matching characters (all from the Star Wars franchise, including the more recent films). The game is indeed ideally a two player game with the game board being presented vertically to each player as a 5 x 5 grid. The game cubes are well made featuring characters from the films in action poses. The game requires tactics similar to the connect 4 strategy where each player bids to out do each other. Its quick and easy to set up requires no batteries and games can be completed in short space of time. The simple nature of the game may lead to it becoming a little repetitive and monotonous after a while.Overall simple game good franchising no batteries easy to set up but can be a little repetitive.

This is a really good game. I wasn't sure of the idea of it - got it for my 7 and 5 year old sons, and after a quick read of the instructions, got going very quickly.Aim of the game is to line up 5 cubes of the same characters (which are a mix of various Star Wars films from Ep 1 - 8). You face your opponent, battleships style, with a stand up side of the board facing you.You push through a cube at a time to replace another and try and build a line on your own - which obviously can affect the person on the other side while they build their line. Once you get 5, your opponents has a chance to steal, if they happen to have the card of the character whose 5 you've matched up.It's a fun, pretty quick game, and my kids got the idea pretty easily. Highly recommended.

This STAR WARS 'crazy cube' game will make your children's eyes light up. Based on STAR WARS characters this is a straightforward game based on the 'noughts and crosses' principle of aiming to be the first to match the same character either across, down, or diagonally. It comes with a pack of special 'Top Trumps' card to add an extra element, in which you can draw a card to 'alter the deal' or 'steal the Match'.The characters portrayed are from the Rebel Alliance to the First Order. It comes in its own case, so you can carry it anywhere.

Connect 4 + 1. That seems to be the basic premise of this game. It's a wee bit more complicated than that although the aim of the game is to get a row of five matching pictures, across, down or diagonally using Star Wars characters. You don't actually need to know anything about Star Wars but it will probably give you some extra pleasure as your favourites appear. It says its for ages 4 and up and that's probably about right as older kids might lose interest more quickly But fun nonetheless.

i think that this game is really good because it is a game of skill and luck. you do not need to know alot about star war to play this game but the starwars characters make it more interesting to play. this game is not difficult to play, it would be good for ages 3+ but I still like it at 11. in the game you have to try and make a row of 5 of the same characters. this is a very fun game and I spend so much time doing this against my sister. i advise you to get it.

My child is a fan of the more traditional game, connect 4, and has really liked playing this variation of it. There is a combination of luck and cause / effect in this and it makes you think about each move. This is an excellent game for any Star Wars fan - although could be easily played by someone with no knowledge of Star Wars.Would recommend.

Can you get five in a row in this cool Star Wars Cube Game. It is very well made, really good fun to play (my 11 year old son literally asks to play this every night) and overall it is fun even if you aren't a fan of star wars. Very easy to learn, very easy to play and a nice family game. Recommended.

Put simply this is top trumps meets connect 4. You're pushing your cube from one side and another player is pushing from the other until one of you gets five in a row. Can be a little frustrating for younger players maybe but it's good fun for all ages.

This is ok and good for a Star Wars fan. However, it's really a dressed up version of Connect 4 and I think will be of limited play value long term. Easy to play and the box keeps all the pieces safe for easy transportation.

17.10.2017

This is a good game for lovers of Star Wars young and old - a modern take on a connect 4 type concept with a few variations. It is well made, a good memory test and simple in concept. It is also well packaged.

Ticks 2 boxes in one go for my nephew. He is a great Star Wars fan, and loves top trumps! It is very quick and easy to learn, but it can still be a challenge to win.All ages can play this, from 8 until 80

Quality game for a Star Wars fan. Simple enough for my 8 year old to play but entertaining enough for an adult to play too. The game is a good gift as it comes in a box and represents good value for money.
