Neil is a VERY clever little seal who, as you push him along, will pick up his ball from the floor... toss it up in the air... and then spin it on his nose. Genius! Even though Neil has been with us for a few weeks, we all still stop and stare in wonder at him every time he does this - even the grown ups. My daughter, at 4 years old, is the most fascinated by Neil because she has already formed opinions about what is or isn't normal about the world. Our 15 month old daughter on the other hand seems to think that this is quite normal but it does make her giggle every time.I like this toy because it encourages walking. The handles are at a great height for Holly right now (she is 15 months)and it is suitably challenging for her to direct Neil to pick up the ball - not so hard that she loses interest, but hard enough that she has to think and try a little to catch the ball. The brightly coloured ball itself is actually quite fun for Holly and myself to play with because it is a nice size to roll to one another and it rattles slightly as it rolls.I think it is great to see a fun and engaging kids toy which doesn't make noises and doesn't require batteries! My gut feeling is that the entertainment value of Neil the Seal catching his ball and spinning it on his nose will reduce a little as time wears on and as our toddler becomes more mobile herself but so far, he still seems to be offering entertainment. For this reason, I think it would make a really ideal toy for a nursery or play group where lots of children would get short bursts of fun from it.

Neil the Seal came in a box with little assembly needed, it literally was a case of slotting the handle into the back. It was then ready to use, simple! It requires no batteries and that is a massive plus point for me. Neil the Seal is pushed along using the handle, he picks the ball up in his flippers and as if by magic (or so my toddler thinks...) Neil automatically picks the ball up and pops it on his nose. It then spins around while balanced on his nose as you continue to push it along.Marky absolutely loves pushing Neil the Seal around, he finds is amazing how Neil picks the ball up and how he manages to balance it on his nose! Emma will be using this in no time at all,and I am sure it will help her to gain some coordination.I love just how robust Neil the Seal is, he has been up and down the stairs, around the house, in the garden and he still is as fresh as the day we got him! He is easy to wipe clean as he is made of good quality plastic.Neil the Seal is awesome, a great addition to our house, loved by the children and I really recommend him!

This is honestly one of the BEST toys I have seen in ages! Neil is pushed along, his magnetic flippers then magically pick the ball up from the floor, place it on his magnetic nose and his flippers come away - so Neil balances the ball as you push him along!Every movement is so seamless and looks so realistic. I, a grown woman of 31, laughed my head off when I first saw what Neil did - I was amazed!! My partner loved it too! Our son is only very young but he loved the bright colours and seemed to enjoy watching the toy, I know once he's walking he will love this!It is SUCH good value for money too, I would expect it to cost double for what it does. Very impressed!

This is such a brilliant design! The seal must have all sorts of clever mechanics going on inside to work as it does. The flippers lie flat to the floor as the toy is pushed along, until the magnets in them sense the ball (which also has magnets inside it). Once the ball is sensed, the flippers raise up, carrying the ball between them, and deposit the ball on the nose of the seal. It then spins there as the toy is pushed along the floor. It's very clever engineering. This is a hit in my house already, and is perfect for little ones learning about cause and effect. 5 stars.

This is one very clever toy that still get me and my husband wondering how it works. Not only is Neil the Seal attractively colourful and makes the clicking sounds my kids like, it can pick up a ball (that rattles as well), place it on his nose and make it turn on his nose. Children can play with it for a long time as it's so fascinating. It's a bonus that it doesn't require batteries to run, and very durable as well, so even if the kids banged it against chairs, tables and walls, Neil is still going strong! For about £20 I think it's definitely value for money.

We bought these for our twin boys last Christmas and now it’s almost next Christmas, and they still love playing with these! Highly recommended. They are not picking up the ball on the floor with the seal that much but they love to just go around the house with them, sometimes imagining it’s a vacuum cleaner or a lawn mower and stuff :D (they are big fans of vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers). Anyway, these are a lot of fun and look really cute and hella durable too! Haven’t broken down yet and our boys are quite the tornadoes :D

Neil The Seal has provided so much fun for our one year old. It's easy and quick to assemble and good to go in under a minute. Our one year old is able to lift the handle and push along easily and enjoys the motion of Neil lifting the ball to his nose.He enjoys it just as much without the ball.*We recieved this item for purpose of review. But all views and opinions are our own.

Neil The Seal ...what a great idea for those just learning to walk & coordinate, even older ones ...throw the ball, walk Neil up to it, he clasps the ball & puts it on his head while little one is walking & it spins on his nose...Magic whoever thought of it...great for Xmas! No batteries needed, magnetic force involved.. Clever!

This toy is great, not only does my youngest love it but my eldest also has great fun with it too (he is almost 5)The ball has a small magnet in it so once its stuck to his nose it doesn't come off unless you pick it off.A very fun toy. Would definitely recommend this!

Awesome I got it for my 2 year old niece for christmas, she was not interested in any other toys she just loved dragging it around and trying to pick up the ball, we all loved it to. Great quality, and cute, clever toy :)

This became my 16 month old's favourite toy from the off. Usually he takes time to warm up to a new toy but loved this right out of the box. It goes on walks with us too! Nice & sturdy.

Bought for our 1 year old grandson but our 3 year old grandson also thinks it's great. It's a very attractive toy and I think will be popular with both the boys for quite some time.
