This is a really simplified and portable aquadoodle, that is perfect for travelling as the name suggests - and it works really well. When you open up the aquadoodle, you will see two halfs, and a space to put the water pen in the middle. My only improvement on this would be to provide the larger version of the water pen (it's the smaller size that comes in the set) When travelling, you won't be easily able to refill the pen so having a larger one would allow this activity to be used for longer. You should be able to switch it out with a larger pen if you already have one from the previous sets. The two halfs have differently coloured backing, so the water pen shows up green on one side and red on the other. There are colourful pictures around the edges to give drawing and doodling inspiration. What I like about this set is that its the perfect size to fit on a lap, or lap table, and it is the easier ever - just open it to use, close to finish. No need to worry about leaving the mat out to dry to prevent it going mouldy (as happened to previous full size aquadoodles of ours) since the way the set is set up, that doesn't happen.Aquadoodle is always a hit with my kids for mess free creativity, and this set makes it really easy to take on the go

I have two little people that absolutely love Aquadoodle products, My son is just under 2 and my daughter is 4, both of them get enjoyment from these. The mat is colourful and appealing to the eye. The basic premise of these is that your little human can draw for ages and NEVER ruin your walls! Because the whole thing works on water. The pens, you fill up with water, they can attach into the dabbers or use them on their own, little human draws on the mat with said pens and the mat changes colour according to where it gets wet. Each time it dries, it clears itself, lovely, no mess. The draw backs - you cannot wash this mat, it does get grubby over time (hence the replacement)You cannot heat the mat to make it dry quicker, thus mini humans are bored waiting for it to dry!Mini humans flick water at each other in more inventive ways!My biggest tip with these - buy more pens! The mat will outlive the pens by far! This one in particular is fold away, we took it with us today on a trip out to see relatives, the little humans played with it in the car and loved it. They also liked to use it to flick water at said relatives, awesome!A must have for creative kids that like to draw particularly any that are going on a long journey!

I do love aqua doodle for its simplicity and mess free creativity. This version is a travel one and is a great idea for taking on car journeys as a way of entertaining little ones, especially if older siblings have travel games and they feel left out as there isn't much for journeys aimed at children in this age group (18 moths -4 yrs)It is roughly an A4 page on each side, with a padded back to enable you to lean on it to draw. It has 2 sides - pink and green, and a mini pen which fits in an elasticated loop in the middle. The idea is that you draw on one side and then can turn over, letting the first side dry while you draw on the other side. Unfortunately as it is a fairly small size, and the pen is quite wide nabbed and glides over in a lovely way, both sides were drawn all over, and even though drying out only takes maybe 10 minutes, everyone knows 10 minutes is a lifetime when you have a bored toddler who wants to do more drawing! If you were looking at this for travel, it is reasonable, however it isn't much less than the regular aquadoodle and is quite a bit smaller in terms of pen and drawing area, so I would consider getting the full size version!

My lo loves his aquadoodle mat so I jumped at the chance to give this portable version a go.First off it's no bag. It's a small portable mat that is padded with soft yet rigid material for it to hold it's shape in a lap in the car or what not. It's brightly colored and feels a touch cheap. You get one mini aqua pen that's held by a small loop in the fold inside.Given the relatively cheap price though I think it is worth it and I, and particularly my lo do like it. We took it in the car and he happily played with it. It's small enough for him to hold and handle yet solid and big enough to make drawing on it worth while. The inclusion of one small pen is a touch miserly but we have plenty spare we bought to go with the bigger mat.On that front it's worth picking up extra pens for friends to get involved with drawing etc.You likely won't be able to wash this if it gets too grubby and to let it dry we left it open on the rear seat and it dried in no time thanks to cars being inherently warm and unventilated. All things said my lo liked this and it kept him entertained which is the main thing.

Very simply idea that works well, the bag comes with only one pen which is a bit of a pity as for a start it means only one child at a time can use it big circles and fill the page the fact there are two pages to use is a bonus because you can just fold back the other one ready for use while the used one fades.Easy to clean and very lightweight to cand also one pen means more likely to get lost. The bag itself is actually quite large especially as it folds out into two colours so there is plenty of space to draw in fact plenty of space for 2 children (Hence my comment about 2 pens) Its pretty mess free as well unlike if you are using for example a chalk board or something similar for the kids to draw on.It takes a few minutes for what they have drawn to actually fade so if you have one of those kids who just draw arry it folds away nicely. No instructions or anything this is very much a grab and use item. Nothing I can fault about this its a nice childrens toy.

Tomy Aquadoodle Colour Travel BagAs had been observed in other reviews, the "bag" is simply a mat that opens like a book & can be carried using two fabric handles. A decent size for little people, two different colour revealing surfaces are exposed when open, one half green, one red. A small & perhaps a little undersized pen is included which when filled with tap water creates red or green lines which after 5-10 minutes fade away.A nice idea to introduce the concept of drawing to those with minimal coordination or experience, such as my 13 month old twins. No paint or ink all over them or the house walls / carpet / cupboard while being used.In an ideal world, an extra pen would be included,or at least a larger one to reduce filling requirements during longer periods of use. Apart from that, not a bad idea but try and source as cheaply as you can to avoid a lack of value for money feeling when the children get bored.

Aquadoodle is great for children who love to draw but also love to make a terrible mess! We are long-term fans of the large aquadoodle mats, so were pleased to be able to try out this travel set. It is a compact folding case, 27cm wide and 22cm high when folded, and has convenient carrying handles. There are two mats inside, one pink (which comes up as red when drawn on), and one green. The pen is much shorter than the usual aquadoodle ones, although a normal-sized one would fit into the holder I think. The pen doesn't come with a cap, but I suppose since the 'ink' is water then this doesn't matter, although refilling it on the move could be problematic if you have a child like ours who finds colouring in the entire mat very entertaining, and also rather likes 'drinking' from the nib.....sigh.Great portable set

My son loved his aquadoodle last Christmas when he was just about to turn 3. Seeing the "writing" really captured his imagination and from a parent point of view, it was mess free so perfect! This year, we have moved on to felt tips etc which are so messy and ok for in the house but on a train journey with people sat next to you in work clothes, not so ideal! The Aquadoodle Travel Bag is ideal, if is compact and lightweight and easily fits into my rucksack. It opens into two firm sides and allows your little one to draw away and then dries to allow them to start the fun all over again. My son is almost 4 and still likes this product but will suit younger kids too.

Like it's fullsize sibling, this works really well. It's pretty close to 'real' drawing with felt tip and its dries (and therefore fades) and can be used again quite quickly. It's basically a colour sheet with a water sensitive white coating that, when wet, becomes transparent showing the colour underneatth. The portability aspect works well too - it's really light and closes up on itself. It doesn't last forever though - we've had a few aquadoodle sets over the years and have found that the surfaces starts to wear out after a year or two - I'm not sure if this is the coating wearing out or if it's the accretion of grease and dirt etc on top of that!

The Aquadoodle is good for car journeys and drawing anywhere in the house, since it only requires water. This travel bag is around A4 size when folded, opening out to A3 size. On one side it turns pink with water, on the other, green. It works fine and my young children enjoy it for short spells. The pen is not the best quality and is unlikely to last too long.In my opinion, the Galt Water Magic products are better - the colours are clear and brighter and it feels more like drawing on paper than the fabric Aquadoodle. The water pens are also of a higher quality. I recommend comparing the two before making a decision to purchase.

This is a brilliant travel idea and it is a total must have. This is a double sided drawing pad one side is orangy/pink and the other side is bluey/greenthere is one pen included in the pack and there are handy carry handles on the case itself. The only downfall is there is no way to close or securely fasten thisThe case however is a good size that it can fit in a bag or can be carried easily by a little one.the drawing pads do take a lot of heavy handed drawing without showing signs of wear and tear very easily.I would definitely recommend this as a travelling essential with little ones.

When I first opened the packaging I wasn't overly impressed by this. I thought it looked a bit cheap. However my 2.5 year old daughter loves it. For the last couple days she has taken it everywhere with her. It's small and light making it easy for her to carry. The pen is held securely in the middle. It has been great for her to use in the car and has kept her entertained for ages. It will be handy to have for longer journeys and it's great that there is no mess. My only criticism is that the pen is quite small so you have to fill it up a lot.

23.10.2019

This is a fab little peice of kit for the kods in the car.I have got two of these and i got one forna friend too. These are brill to keep then entertained in the car.I just keep a little bottle of water in the csr to top the pen up when needed.I have only given this 4 stars though purely for the fact then pens dont last very long. I find the nib is fine on it but sometimes the water just wont come through.. which then makes it no use unless u buy the spare pens.

28.9.2015

Nice little idea. The downside it only comes with one pen. Really simple to use just add water to the pen and then let your children draw to their hearts content. The drawing stays on the page (wet) for about 5-10 minutes. The water marks are really clear, and easy to see. The pages are a good size but maybe a little big for airplane journeys more for the car. Overall a good value product, nice and simple and will keep your children entertained for a while

25.9.2015

What a great idea. Mess free drawing mat that doesn't even really need the supplied writing markers. Fill with water and off you go.All kids and this one too loves drawing and scribbling - including over everything that shouldn't be - so at least this helps to partly mitigate and keep them amused for ages.Travel version of a few other mats in the range. Not as good value as the other full size mats which are a little bigger.
