After our first game we were pretty impressed. After a quick delivery, it took a reasonable amount of time to set up. The machine requires 2 AA batteries (alkaline preferred for top performance) and the canopy must be unscrewed beforehand. We found this to be no problem at all. When switched on, a circular mechanism rotates to move the red sliding tray (it really isn't loud at all). The counters are made of cardboard, but despite this material, they do slide and push each other very nicely. They may occasionally get stuck in the vertical wall but a little knock on the side of the machine will get them fling down again. Once all the counters are punched out of the cardboard tray and the machine is assembled, all that's left are stickers to decorate the machine. I didn't stick them on terribly well but they look pretty cool. I'd say a pretty well-designed machine, even though I found I had to make sure the vertical wall was pushed down fully to prevent the counters from sliding underneath it. There were also occasions where the tray stop moving due to the rotator getting caught, but it only took a few seconds to get it going again; just switch it off, remove the tray and give the blue shelf a little sweep (make sure there's no debris on it throughout for fun gameplay). A couple of blips but it works more than well enough of the time to keep the game flowing nicely. The game requires a least 3 players or teams and everyone takes it in turns being the question master. When playing by the rules correctly, everyone would have answered the same number of questions (unless in Round 2 players have passed a question to an opponent of if a 'Freeze' counter emerges from the machine, which is a loss of the next answering turn). This worked very well. Counters won by an individual player or team should be stacked in a separate pile to prevent them from being mixed with the draw pile or the three counters given in Round 1. There is no round where players have 30 seconds to answer questions, but you can easily slot that round in if you fancy a longer game. The player with the most counters goes on to try and eject the jackpot counter out of the machine.I found I needed buzzers for Round 1 (they're not included in the game, unfortunately). I use a multiple buzzer app om my tablet to add to the fun so that we know who buzzed first and that no one needs to slam their hands on the table. There are over 650 questions in total and are in blue and red piles (the red are optional choice and are used for the final round) I would've liked more to improve the mix, considering The Chase board game has over 1,000, and we had a slight overdose of fashion and soap questions... we didn't get enough Sports ones!! But that's just us and we still prefer random questions rather than just picking them. Each question has a category attached so you have an idea what might be good, and what might be impossible to answer, for your friends and family. There are 6 on each card.More questions and a few adjustments to the machine to improve reliability would be nice, but this is definitely a game for everyone to play. Recommended!

I have a habit of buying something and then the price instantly drops, grrr!My Mum and Dad love watching this on TV so I bought this as part of Dad's birthday pressies for a bit of fun. It seemed to work better with four teams as it says in the instructions. When one of the teenagers got a bit bored she decided to be quizmaster and read the questions - that worked really well.I found when I put the little cardboard coins in they occasionally got stuck. (We added a new word to the list of "wedgie" LOL) We easily solved this problem by replacing the cardboard coins with pennies. I don't watch the Tipping Point program so I don't know why you would need grey tokens and black tokens - if this isa problem with using pennies you could always put a spot of coloured nail varnish on them or something. It's much more satisfying with real money! We had a lot of fun playing it and I would buy it again.

I don't personally know the rules of the TV show by heart, but the rest of my wife's family do and the game flowed really well without spending ages reading the instructions. The biggest difference is that there's no eliminating players until the last final round. Of course I mean, it's a family game after all.The questions are not too easy and not too hard. We are all adults and we enjoyed the difficulty of the questions, which matches the one on TV pretty well. I'm guessing a 7 year old would be fuming, he can't possibly know the majority of these. But googling "trivia questions" while playing really would do the job, even in the case you played this game so much you ran out of question cards. The machine works well out of the box (you need batteries separately, and to stick a few stickers on the machine), not too loud like some say in my opinion.10/10 from me, go for it.

Was a bit nervous about buying it due to the mixed reviews but thought I'd take a chance as my mum loves the show. We've played it once so far and we had a great time playing it! The rounds are well done and good fun.A couple of cons though:The motor is loud, which can be annoying so we just turned it off until we needed to drop a coin and it didn't affect the gameplay at all.The coins are a bit too light so they can jump around a lot more than they do in real-life. Personally we think it added to the fun as we laughed about it but if you're a stickler for how it should be, this may annoy you. Someone in another review suggested a way of creating zones to block it off so we may try that

5***** for sure!!! We didn’t expect such success with this present from Santa! We bought this game as our son loved watching and playing tipping point with his coins. He opened the wrapping and almost started crying sayin The best present ever! So sweet! Since then I had my breakfast, dessert and watch an hour tv show and he is still playing rejecting to go outside and try riding his new scooter and gocart. The game itself looks much better than on the picture. The shelf moves forward and back. It has double counter, mistery and, of course, jackpot counter. I would definitely recommend this fun for kids who like the show.

Our game came with plastic counters and not the cardboard ones. I was a bit worried after reading reviews but i can honestly say the game operates well. Slightly different rules to the tv show but you can easily change them to suit your players. Requires 2 x AA batteries. Packs away easy and box is not overly big to store either. Good selection of questions which may be too hard for younger players but there is an easy option on question cards and multiple choice which makes things easier. It's a lot of fun for both kids and adults and can see us enjoying it for a long time yet.

Liked:-They haven’t made the questions easy- same difficulty as the show.-Great fun for adults and kids.Disliked:-The size: too small-They made it complicated by adding rules/tokens that aren’t in the show and wish they should’ve stuck with the show version; although you could just remove them.-There’s four different slots but nothing in between them to make sure it stays in those sections.Although it looks like I have more dislikes than likes- I do really enjoy it and don’t regret buying it. It’s great fun and will be playing it on Christmas with the family hopefully.

All game pieces there so I’m not going to moan about the game or write a bad review about it as such! But I was so disappointed with the state of the box and the actual box it was packaged in was perfectly fine which means the damage was done before it got put in the delivery box! There was clear damage and shouldn’t have been sent like that, the game isn’t cheap so you expect it to be in a better condition, especially when it’s a present for someone else. The game is brilliant (hence the review stars) but I’m gutted about the box as it was a present for my nan.

Would definitely recommend as the game is good fun. Huge variety of questions within the contents of the box which is always good for a game with this calibre.Actual tipping point machine isn't exactly phenomenal but it does the job! Me and the family had a good giggle at the creaking noise it makes but it still does the job!Instructions are slightly confusing. The way it tries to get you to play the game is confusing and not like the TV show, would definitely recommend just playing the way you want to once you have the hang of it!

I ordered this before Christmas so that we would have a new game to amuse us after the cheese and biscuits! Arrived quickly, well in time for Christmas and proved very popular. After a bit of setting up, it worked well, with the only comment that, unlike the real game, the 4 drop-zones are not actually separated so if you put a counter in D-Z 1 it can end up coming out in D-Z 4! Other than that, just like the real thing! It proved so popular that we didn't get a chance to try the other game I bought (The Chase).

The Tipping Point board game was a great surprise and much better than I'd expected. Having heard mixed reviews online, I wasn't expecting the game to be of too high quality or at least last that long. Instead, I found a very entertaining game that I can imagine will please many fans of the show. It seems as though the game contents have been updated as well, as while plenty of reviews complain about the counters being made of card, the ones I found were plastic and worked well in the machine.

Despite mixed reviews, I bought this for Christmas and it’s been a hit. The machine mechanism works well and isn’t noisy as stated in one review. The actual game play is a bit flawed (no obvious advantage in ‘winning’ the first round and it would have been a simple job to make tiered difficulty questions for each category as per the actual tv show) but it’s fun. The questions are suitably pitched for families- some easy , some on the tricky side. Overall, a good buy.

As a family we have had lots of fun playing the TV game and hoped the board game would be more enjoyable as we personally played. However, the flimsy coins, slow pace of machine and overall quality and size of the machine proved disappointing. That said, we persisted and laughed throughout! The tactics of the game and the family intervention is a winning formula. Improvement necessary regarding the quality, size and mechanics of the machine and coins.

After reading so many negative reviews I didn't really want to purchase it but as it was in my daughters' Christmas list I went for it. It's a fun game, when we have too many people we play in four teams. Whilst playing our first game my daughter accidentally threw a drinks on top of all the board counters and they became fat and unusable. So we now play with loads of 5p coins which actually work better than the proper counters.

Brought this for a grandma and her granddaughter who’s 10yrs oldEasy to set up and put awayCounters are plastic, was worried about some reviews, but this a lovely game, hours of fun already and we’ve slightly adapted the game as the instructions wanted you to reload the counters after each round but we kept them as they were , as it’s more fun ! We even tweeted Ben Shepherd who replied to our tweet! Asking us to enjoy the game
