I bought this game from playing the demo and thought it looked kinda cool, it is a FPS and you can manipulate time to aid you in battles or to affect the area around you to get to other places in the level.Here are some of the highs of the game:You are in an advanced Beta suit capable of time travel and you travel back in time to stop a madman who has taken the Aplha suit and changed time.There are a good selection of weapos as you progress through the game and some have a secondary fire, i.e. increased fire rate, grenades, etc...With the suit's time control you cannot regain ammunition due to the dampening of time around your body so yu cannot waste clips shooting at people then just get them back if you change your mindThere are three ways you can affect time,you can slow down time, stop time and reverse time, the time stop and reverse use more suit energy than the slow down time but at some points they are cruical, be it rewinding a train hurtling towards you are using the time options to get through certain obstacles.You can stop time when e.g. a missile is being fired at you and blow it out the air!The time controls are what makes the game inovative, and you cannot use it all the time as you need to let the energy recharge in your suit to do it again.There are no health bars, as you get shot up the screen will start to splatter with blood at the edges so you will need to find cover in the big fights.With the reverse or time stop options, you can get past enemies without them knowing you were there so it isn't always just a case of going in guns blazing.You have clutch grenades which when you throw at someone will cling to them when you have paused time run up and hurled one at someone it is gratifying to see them explode when time resumes.Here are some of the lows:The graphics are not next gen unfortunately, they are ok and it is to be remembered this is one of the earlier titles so developers weren't makig full use of the PS3.The story line seems to start off ok but as you progress the game gives you snipits of the characters "mysterious past" but you cannot help but feel indifferent about your characters past. The main focus is the correcting of the time line.There are ammo caches around the levels and when you get to these they refill all ammunition for you weapons, and this makes the game a bit too easy as you don't really need to manage your ammunition that much as you know somewhere there is a box of infinite ammo. When there are big battles going on you just need to stand near and it and fire away merrily.The enemy AI isn't top par, you can find areas where you can sit and pick them off at times, and the enemies don't make enough use of grenades in my opinion.Overall, for this price the game is worth it, it isn't the best FPS out there but it does have have one great element in that you can control time, and this is something that the developers have made great use, you cannot cause a paradox as the suit will not let you. This makes the game in my opinion, it is something I haven't seen before and really works well, as you will need to stop time, rewind time to get through areas and it is a great concept.I would recommend you add it to your collection as there is also multiplayer mode, so you can go online and with the suits you can throw grenades that have the desired time effects, so e.g you can throw a time stop grenade and if it catches someone in it they are frozen there so you can empty clips into then and grenades so when the bubble pops they are suddenly spammed and usually die :P There is also armour bonuses that you can pick up to help keep you a live that bit longer and the red team vs blue time is an age old tactic.

Bought this the day it came out and have been having a blast (no pun intended!) ever since. You can download a proper (free) demo to play from playstation store which is actually the second level in the full game, to get a taster.Graphics are very sharp, gameplay excellent, and some great weapons - particularly the crossbow. Best of all when you shoot the baddies (using crossbow) they explode into many pieces like in Gun for PS2 (which is quite gratifying if you've had a dozen of them trying to kill you repeatedly!). There is none of the rubbish in some shooters where the bodies just fall over and then mysteriously vanish.Not too sure why the 18 rating, as there is no swearing at all (unlike many others - Kane and....whatever,where it seems the language is core to the game) but suspect it is for the blood, although there is nothing sinister or scary like in Jericho or The Darkness. And like I said no bad language.....You have to think laterally in many situations where you must either pause, slow down, or rewind time in order to complete your objectives or simply survive. The later levels are particularly interesting as you are up against some soldiers who also have timesuits, albeit not as good as your own.Also, if/when you die the restarts are excellent - you can either manually save so you can start again at the exact part where you saved, or when leaving it on auto it still splits the game into small enough segments that you don't go back too far - gone are the days of call of duty 'start the whole level again' malarkey!In addition, you get a preview picture of your 'save', so you can pick where to jump back in, instead of what you get with most game saves where you simply see the day/date/time etc. and have no real idea of where you are, particularly if the game auto saves every few minutes to that format.Can't really fault anything about it and wish all games were this good - I have many ps3 titles and sadly the majority of them are gathering dust.I have not quite got to the end yet and hope it is not too soon, but even so, a really refreshing change as I will not only be playing it again from start to finish (like the also brilliant Lego Star Wars), but looking out for a sequel which I hope they make too. Fab!As a final thought, I bought 'Call of Duty 4 - modern warfare' (a really great game too) at about the same time as this, thinking timeshift might be an interesting diversion when I got bored with Call of Duty. I've completed the first couple of levels of Call of Duty doing the SAS stuff which is great, then got to the yanks invading somewhere in the middle east again bit, and fell asleep. Since then forgot all about it! Have been playing timeshift ever since.Do yourself a favour and go and buy it!

OK, I'm telling you now, the story is crap. You are trying to get this guy, who has another one of these time suit things and while you do it you have to go into various places and shoot lots of bad guys.However...there are some things which make this game very very good! Firstly, the whole concept of stopping, slowing and reversing time is amazing and (in a sick kinda way) fun. Also, this game is rated 18, and this makes it so much better, because they put tonnes of gore into it - like when you put a grenade on someone, they're limbs, head and rest of their body blow up and scatter around the place.The creaters have thought very carefully about use of time as well. Timeshift is a rare beast , a conventional first person shooter with a twist. Starting with the basics the graphics and game play are first class.You play a lab researcher on a time control suit project. Your boss kills your girlfriend and steals one of the suits and goes on to create his own world which he controls.The suit has shield and health capabilities , hiding from danger gives time to replenish health and your shield. Your time travel capability also refreshes at the same time. This is the key to the game - the enemies are too strong, in numbers and capabilities, for you to defeat them on a level playing ground. With the timeshift ability of the suit you can stop , slow and reverse time.

OK, well the first thing i must say about this game is the slightly dodgy graphics (i do not know the technical term but when one pans the image kind of gets horizontally lacerated)For those wondering im running it on my bravia 37 via hdmi and its the only game which does this.Although there is this problem the graphics on the game are incredibly sharp and detailed, one of the best i've seen on the ps3 so far.I haven't finished the game so far but my initial thoughts are that it is indeed a great deal of fun. The ability to time shift is fun and it isn't entirely eye candy or a gimic.the weapons are pretty sterile as far as fps goes, but they are functional which is ultimately what its all about.The story is a little confusing at times,

Hey peeps,Timeshift is a game I played on PC and then when I got a Xbox I had to get it again because its such a classic.After you get used to the different button layout (Many a time I used secondary fire instead of aim down sights by accident and subsequently blew myself up) and if you dont mind the graphics being mid range you can really enjoy this game.The only other game I have played with time effects is Prince of Persia and this game is so very different. When playing on Elite you cannot win a fire fight with a group of enemies without using time slow and the clever introduction of constant threats that require time powers to avoid is great fun.The story line is pretty standard but with

I'm normally quite good at spotting a good game, or at least one that i'd enjoy and at first completely wrote this off my list. im so glad i bought it now, the gameplay is amazingly fun and addictive, slowing down time and sprinting around everywhere causeing mayhem is exactly what it looks like on the trailer, but the clincher has to be pausing time and stealing an enemies gun, pure genius!!!!!now to go into the game in more depth, the storyline is well....errrr its ok, but its nothing to write home about, graphically its great but isnt the best on this console, but saying that, it has some of the best destructability i've seen in a long time. After playing the demo, i could only stare in amazement at the game - the graphics are amazing, the concept of time control is done brilliantly with the use of slow, stop and rewind - these can be used for not combat (which is brutal and gory) but can also be used for puzzle solving such as using stop time to stop an electrical current and allow you to pass through electrified water. This allows dynamic ways to solve puzzles and defeat the standard bad guy set up (evil dictatorship, all black camo gear, machine gun toting and occational giant robot killing machine) with comedy effect and good physics.One of the best moments in the demo i saw was when i paused time at just the right moment when

I was looking forward to this game from when I first heard about it, and was not disappointed. The game is very challenging, and the timeshifting capabilities of your Beta suit are very well integrated into the game: at no time does it feel forced to use the powers, it always feels natural, an area which many other games offering a unique ability have failed.The graphics on the PS3 are incredible for the amount of action constantly on screen, including a very nice focussing effect and physics.My only complaint about this game is that it is far to short. I'm not great at FPS and I finished it on medium difficulty in two around 12 hours, dying around 200 times... The storyline is rather bland and never explained in any depth,

I bought this Game around 3 Months Ago and have just begun to get into the Second Level,I play a LOT of FPS on the PS3 and i must admit i was pleasantly surprised by the Graphics and the ease of use of the Controls for this Game.The Time Shifting Effect is very ,Very,Good and certainly adds an extra "Something" to the Game,i was surprised to read some of the Customer Reviews that really Slate this Game.All i can say is that i found it Great Fun to Play and in My Opinion it was Money very well spent,and i would certainly reccomend it to those PS3 Gamers out there on a limited Budget (Self Included).The price of this Game wont Skint You,and neither will you feel that you have been ripped off.

this is a great game, excellent graphics, good controls and a good choice of weapons, the ability to use time to your advantage is fantastic, slowing things down and having the enemy freak out and wonder what has happend is excellent, its not all freezing things and dodging bullets though, just when you think its going well, you have to decide, do i freeze time, do i slow time, or do i reverse it, lots of little puzzles that will have you pulling your hair out if your as thick as me, havent finished the game yet, but i dont see myself getting bored at all, comparing this to halo 3, id say its twice as fast to play, nice smooth movement, gets you thinking! worth buying

the title says it all really, you are a proffesor that has the ability to shift time. holdimg L1 and triangle will stop time... L1 and x will slow down time and L1 and circle will rewind time. your 'nano suit' automatically repairs itself if you stop getting shot, you can speed up the repair by activating your timeshifting capabilities. a blue bar in the top left of the screen shows you how much power you have left in order to use your abilities... it will automatically fill up over time.overall this game is awesome, the glass physics and explosions are amazing, the five years in development have certainly paid off!!!

ok game the graphics are good generally but the friendly guys look like they were 7 foot tall on programming and then squashed down to 5 foot with out sorting the rest out so they basically move weirdly and look stupid enemy models are good though. there are some puzzles which are easy to do apart from 1 where its really hard to do. guns are good not that much variety but still quite good. you can stop, slow and reverse time which is really cool so you can throw a grenade and stick an enemy then watch them explode and stop time and see the limbs flying off then reverse time and watch them fly back on.

i got this game free when i first got my ps3 ages ago, but after a very short play i turned it off as i hated it, now months later i finally have some free time and i decided to give it another go and was surprised at how good it is, true the graphics in the cutscenes arent spectacular especially the prisone scene were almost every prisoner falls in the same way at the same place but during the actual levels the graphics ar ejust as good as any ps3 game, with the time shift abilities its much more fun than regular shooting games and the online mode still has a very active community and still very fun

I honestly did'nt expect much , as never heard of this game before but the demo really WAS excellent! A bit like Half Life with exploding crossbow bolts , dynamic explodable scenery etc but the pace , and well designed level made me want to carry on and complete it.Slow mo Time control was a bit of a novelty but it grew on me and really makes the game different. Obviously I cant comment on the whole finished game BUT if it matches up to the demo , it COULD be a worth buy, especially if the on line game / maps etc are well thught out.One to watch out for!!!
