I have been riding ATAC pedals for about 25 years and I generally love them. One of the things I don't like is with their latest design is that the pins holding the springs together consistently tend to work their way out on my right pedal. If you look at the first photo carefully, you can see the pin has worked its way out after about 3 rides. The other photo is the other side of the same pedal where the pin has remained flush in the correct position. I don't know why that is and I am sure it has something to do with how I clip in/out with my right foot, but I'm getting tired of stopping every couple of rides and bashing it flush into the pedal with a rock or whatever.I have a set of old ATAC Pro pedals from like 20+ years ago that still work perfectly, and other than the cosmetic yellow plastic dust cover on them, they perform like new. I just wish the new ATACs were as maintenance free as the old ones, and I struggle to understand why the design changed. It may look better but they do not perform better. So my feedback to ATAC is to redesign their pedals with fewer failure points.

I've used Time ATACs on all 4 of my mountain bikes fo years. I find them the most comfortable for clipping in and out, and for pedaling. I rarely ride in the mud, but they really seem to ignore the mud and allow you to clip in easily. I also like the ability to adjust how tight they grip the cleats. These come with he standard cleats that give you the choice of 13 degree or 17 degree release, depending on how you mount them. The pedals go only with an allen wrench - they do not have the flat spots on the shaft for using a pedal wrench. In case you are not familiar with this type of pedal: Unlike previous sets, these are not marked with R and L. There is a small groove on the shaft right before the threading only on the LEFT pedal (see the pic)(the instructions show it, but don't explicitly state it). Oooor, of the 2 metal bars on the pedal, the one that sticks up goes towards the front of the bike.

I've been huge fan of another brand of SPD bicycle pedals since the 90's and bought many iterations of their pedals over the years (both road and mtn). I mostly use mtn pedals on the road now and their last version was a disappointment to me. I had to look for another brand. A colleague at work (who happens to be from France) often boasts about Time products. When I was reviewing my options, the XC8 became very attractive. I went ahead and gave them a chance. I am extremely impressed with the quality....the clip-in is like butter, the float is like no other pedal I've tried, and unclipping is like butter too. I use them for road and gravel riding and love them. I think they are great for my needs.I would get another pair. However, I couldn't imagining using them for mountain biking. I think I would destroy them in a few rides, but that just may be me and the New Hampshire rocky and rooty trails.

I have ridden Time pedals for 20+ years. I have experienced the product in it's many iterations and evolution. These are solid and perform very well and it would seem they just keep refining / improving them. These are light, strong and stiff. It's important to note for those who are new to Time pedals that when you first get them and spin them, there will be a little resistance. This is good! It means the seals are in place and working. You will not notice this resistance when ridden. This pair replaces a previous pair that I had for ten years. I had simply worn them out under the clip bar and they had also received their fair share of rock and stump hits. So,worn out for all the right reasons. This set did come with cleats.

I have these pedals on both my usual mountain bikes now, the first is in its third year. I ride technical stuff in the Colorado rocky mountains and Moab, sometimes (often?) hitting a pedal hard on a rock. These carbon ones just keep on going, no problem. I tried Time's bottom-of-the-line pedals (solid plastic or resin) which were quite good, but after a couple of years of abuse (rock hits) something went wrong and one didn't grip quite the same, and made a clicking sound. So I got another pair of carbon ones. Love 'em.

Replaced a prior xc carbon that had a dragging bearing. Time pedals have stood the test of time with me. The xc8 are my 7th pair going back to original ATACs. Wore thru a wire on one orig pair after 15 years. StillRide a 20 yr old pair on commuter. I replace only as preventative race equipment. Use MX8 on fat bike. Even trying the xc4 version on a fun trainer XC bike. Very satisfied with time equipment

Very comfortable, being of normal last are a pelin wider which is appreciated. The stiffness of the area of the cleat that carries a carbon plate is very noticeable. The closing system for me is improvable because when loosening loose completely and when you just want to loosen a couple of clicks ...

The pedals are awesome. Everything was included in the packaging, however, the product box from Time was basically shredded. Someone obviously had received the pedals previously, removed them, then returned them. Just a weird detail. Five stars because these pedals rule.

I have been using ATAC pedals for 20 years. they just keep going. I am replacing a pair that went from a duel suspension (5years) to road bike (5-6k miles). The bearings finally started to go. Highly recommend ATACs.

Great service the pedals arrived in half the time in perfect condition. Install and set up all good....just waiting for the weather to improve a bit to get out and ride them. I have these on a new gravel bike.

After years it was time to replace my Time ATAC mt bike pedalsThe platform is narrow. Clipping in and staying in are great.I really like them. I’m eager to ride them on snowy trails to see how they shed snow

I've been with them for a long time and for me the power transfer is better than in most pedals, good turn and exit and entry of the cove especially with mud

I've been on Time since they came out, never have had a problem with them. I'm 6' 2" 200 lbs and ride hard.Mountain, gravel and xcross.

Great pedals but watch the pins one of mine started to work it’s way out. Put a little lock tite on it.
