Well I've been running Tiles since they launched. Only gripe was the need to buy a new Tile annually because of the battery life. Having said that, the Tiles I've owned have generally lasted more than the twelve months stated and much longer than when the app starts displaying a "replace now" message for the Tile. How do they work?Well you activate the Tile via the app and give it a name. Then attach it to whatever item you want to track. When you misplace your tagged item in the house you can activate the inbuilt beeper and find your item that way.If misplaced further afield, the remote find function is excellent. You flag on the app that the tagged item is missing and then if anyone with the app is in the vicinity of the missing tile, you get a message saying where it is. They don't.So far:I've found my car key in the cat bed after being "cat burgled" one evening. Could hear it beeping underneath the cat who was pretending she had no idea where it was or how it had got there.I tracked my other car key to a suit jacket pocket in a suit I'd handed in for dry cleaning. They had found the key but couldn't work out in the dry cleaning shop which suit they'd found it in. I wouldn't have even thought of that as a location as to where it could be when I was frantically searching the house for it.Found my house key in the grass at the side of the road when it fell out of my pocket. Again the inbuilt beeper came in handy. Before my Mum went into a care home I found her door key inside a box of tea bags. She has dementia and had been tidying up and had "tidied" her key away into an open box of tea bags in a kitchen cupboard. Also found her purse in numerous locations around her house when she had misplaced that. They're really useful if you have someone with Dementia who misplaces things.A replacement car key is £200 for my car so for the car key events alone, my Tile Trackers have more than paid for themselves. You only need to keep the app running on your phone if you want to locate your phone. I just use it when I've misplaced one of my Tiles. There are other trackers you can buy but there are a lot of Tiles out there and so a better chance of another Tile user being near your missing Tile and the Tile app alerting you than if you were using a cheaper but lesser known one.Hopefully you'll never need to use your Tile but when you do it's invaluable.I don't do Amazon reviews but made an exception in this case. Hope you've found it useful.

The community principle of this Bluetooth tracker is a neat one. So long as *any* Tile user is within range of your device, you’ll be able to find out where it is, without sharing its location with anybody else.I was sceptical about the take-up though, thinking that in built-up areas like London that would probably be fine, but in a more suburban area of Wales there wouldn’t be enough users nearby to allow the system to work to any meaningful extent, but I was pleasantly surprised. Exact user location is understandably not shown, but the Android app (which has over 1 million downloads) tells me that within a radius of about five minutes of my house there are around 209 Tile users, which is a lot higher than I expected.Even so, location is certainly going to be important, and this system is still more likely to be able to find your keys (or whatever) if you lose them in a city centre than if you lose them whilst walking up a mountain. So as such, it will suit some people far better than others. The Tile Mate device itself is rather neat. It’s well presented in a posh box, with brief and clear instructions. It fits onto a keyring very easily, particularly with modern car keys where it blends right in. I haven’t used CR1632 batteries much and certainly don’t have any spares, but the manufacturer’s claim that it’s guaranteed for a year both surprises and impresses me (the CR2032 batteries in my car keys don’t last that long.)The fact it’s a two-way find is a good move too. If you’ve lost your car keys, you can make the device beep from your smartphone. But lost your smartphone but you can find your keys? Just double-tap on the button and it will make your phone start ringing, so you can find it. That’s a really good idea, and almost turns this into a ‘two missing device finders in one’, sort of.If you live in the middle of nowhere then some of the features won’t work as well for you, but if you’re in the habit of struggling to find your keys, and you’re so sick of wasting time on “I know they’re somewhere in the house, I had them last night, where did I put them down?” that you’re willing to spend a few quid on a quite novel tracking method, then I’d recommend this for sure.

Set these up today and tested the ring function through both Google assistant (love that that's an option) and the app.Connected each tile to the app with zero issues, quick and easy process.Attached the tiles to all the things I want to keep track of and I'll see how it goes with them. People keep borrowing my keys at work and passing them on to others so this will be handy to find them afterward.I have rang these whilst they've been inside my coat pocket and a little pouch and they have a decent volume. I also like that you can change the ringtone on them, that's a nice option, so you could have different tunes for each item if you want.I am disappointed that the app has a premium subscription feature..I've just spent the best part of £50 on these tiles, and you want to charge a subscription for "premium" features? I feel that's a bit much. I'm not going to be using that subscription. It gives access to 1) smart alerts (tells you if you leave and forget something with a Tile attached) 2) free battery replacement 3) 30-day location history. I think I'm good lacking these. When opening the app it can take a minute or 2 to connect to everything so you can click "find" to ring them, which isn't a problem if you're not in a particular rush. It rang the Tile pretty quickly when I tried it through the Google Assistant. Not sure how durable they are yet, when twisting one of them onto a keyring it scratched the case a bit, might have to be careful not to break them and drop them. The app also has an option to share your tracked items with others (I think they need to have the app installed as well though) which is pretty good. Perhaps if you left your wallet at a friends house somewhere, they can open the link and have a listen out for it.Another feature that's quite good I think is you can ring your phone from the Tiles. If you have your keys but can't remember where you put your phone you can press the button on the Tile and it will ring your phone. So far so good and we'll see how things go

These are great gadgets. I wrote the below review for a pack of four that I received from Amazon to review. I liked them so much that I've since bought more:I’ve been trying out the Tile Mate + Slim combo pack through the Amazon Vine Programme, and it’s been a fun experience. It’s not a product I was even aware of so would never have considered buying it, but now I’m seeing opportunities to expand the devices I have.So what do you get? You get a small, thin box about five inches square. In it all you’ll find other than a warranty card is three simple steps written on the inside face, and found Tile devices. Two of them are Tile Mates, which are about an inch square, and two Tile Slims. They’re credit card shaped (but slightly thicker) and are obviously designed to fit in your wallet. To set them up you’ll need to install the Tile app from your relevant App Store. You’ll need to register an account, either by creating a new account or linking to your Facebook login details. From there you need to pair each Tile device individually, which is the work of a few seconds. Press the button on each device until it starts playing a tune (which sent my dog wappy which leads me to believe they wouldn't be great as pet trackers), and hold it close to your phone. That’s it. All paired up and ready to go.You can then find any item you’ve got the Tile attached to by going into the app and asking it to find it. It’ll show it on a map and also the Tile device will play a tune. Likewise, if you have the Tile device in hand but can’t find your phone you can double tap the button on the Tile and it’ll find your phone for you by playing a tune on your phone. Pretty neat.Additionally, should you so wish and have the functionality, you can install the Tile skill into your Alexa app to add Alexa compatibility. Once you’ve done that, you can ask “Alexa, ask Tile to find.....” and off it’ll go.I’ve been impressed so far and hope I never have to use it in anger!

I think that almost everyone has had the idea for this product at least once in the past; well here it is - technology has finally caught up with the concept, and the good news is that it works very well indeed, and can be set up in under a couple of minutes. It has its own GPS and Bluetooth device inside it, so it's not just something that works inside your home - it can be used to trace via maps too. I world get this one with a replaceable battery, rather than the one that has an inbuilt one.To set it up, you have to download the app and register it on their site. Then, attach the Tile to your keys, wallet or whatever you constantly find yourself losing, and activate it via the app. It's a simple process. The good news is that this isn't just a finder for your home area - this works work Google maps to locate the Tile's last known or current location.More good news - you don't need to attach one to your phone, because it becomes instantly traceable via the website (it has its own GPS, so doesn't need this gadget). You can search via their website or the Tile app on someone else's phone (log in required). To locate, simply press the button on the app, and the Tile plays a tune not unlike a cheap doorbell. It's great for someone like me who forgets and loses things all the time. I would have liked a nice bit of attractive string to come with it, rather than having to find my own.You can use lots concurrently, as they use GPS rather than infra red or radio bands.Totally excellent.Edit 25/11/18: I lost my keys today - the sense of panic when I ran out of places to look was horrible! Then I remembered the Tile on the key ring, turned on the Bluetooth on my phone, pressed the button on the screen, and... I could hear it in the distance, playing a tune. It was in the cupboard, in a coat! What a relief!

In my earlier " lose my keys three times a day " era I was gifted, no doubt as a Christmas present, a similar sized device to the Tile - which when you whistled to locate your keys to which the gizmo was attached, would emit a shrill beeping to allow you to locate said keys. And it worked a treat.Skip forward some 25+ years and we now have its big ( not much bigger! ) & technically better brother. The TileNow, with the aid of either an Android or an Apple App and any one of the three versions of the Tile that are available, the slim, the robust or the Mate you can find your keys, the cat, your laptop, child's teddy, camera .. the list of potential things to lose really is very long.Install the simple app, unbox the smart, well packaged contents and you a simple registration and you are set to go. Having attached mine to my car keys, it sits alongside the keys much like a fob or I.D tag. The concept is very simple. Press the logo in the middle of the Tile and the phone the tile is registered with will ring if its detected within Bluetooth range ( approx 150') .. even if on silent !!! Very handy.Turn the tables and if you lose the item the Tile is attached to you simply open the app and "ring" the Tile making it emit a "musical" series of notes to allow location of lost item .. its like 1988 all over again!!Yes, the tech is far more advanced, yes you need to have Bluetooth and the app running in order to keep a constant update in progress for the Tiles location, but with the benefit of the Tile community all being able to help you track your lost item if nearby, a replaceable battery ( in this version at least ) and a well meaning, simple device to reduce the frenetic 07.30 panic of lost keys .. I'm sold. Now, where is my phone ..

I got my first Tile free last year with a promotion and loved it. I used it to keep track of my keys AND my cell phone (which I can ring from my keys). When I needed another key tracker, I almost bought another brand that was on sale. But then I Googled comparison reviews and found the top tech sites rank Tile as having the loudest ringer and the best range. Also, Tile has a large network of users, and they help track each other's Tiles. If you lose whatever is attached to your Tile, it will show up on a map when another Tile user is within range of the item with their app turned on.So I ordered two packs of 4 Tiles this time. We hid one in our vehicle in case it's ever stolen, one in our travel trailer for the same reason, and attached another to our dog's collar just in case. I gave one to my son for his keys, and used one for my second set of keys. Last week I also gave a Tile to a friend who is always losing her keys, and she has used it several times already. These new Tiles come with replaceable batteries, which the original version did not have. Those batteries were only good for about a year, and then you had to replace the Tile. So make sure you're buying the NEW 2018 version with replaceable batteries. The 4 packs at their current price cost only less than $15 per Tile (with Prime). I've saved literally hundreds of dollars in time and potential locksmith expenses—not to mention the peace of mind gained—using my Tiles (which is why I bought so many this time). It's one of the best investments I've ever made, and I highly recommend them. *I am NOT associated with the maker or any seller of Tile in any way; this is my honest, unsolicited opinion.

We started with these because we (aka my wife & daughter kept losing things (I.e. their keys at least 6 times) however now we all have ‘Tiles’ and I can not tell you how happy we are with these specifically, really do fit in your wallet without ‘bulking’ it up meaning you can’t close it &/or have it in your pocket because it’s so uncomfortable. We all have slims in our wallets; and we have the replaceable batteries versions on everything including the Pup-star (Dog). We now that these are taking off and are already everywhere because of running the tile app constantly (which you can now do with the iPhone; as it tells you now to save battery leave apps open) it tells you how many people you helped.you don’t see their items, it just tells them exactly where they are if I / we walk passes them. And vis-versa as we have found keys drop in a supermarket; a wallet left in a store; house keys on the dog walk trail. Also, Costumer care? Listen to this! When the app detected that the batteries were running low; before they should have; TILE went over and above and sent us brand new tiles! Then when another set were getting low just before they were due to run out; they sent us four new batteries; all without asking! (See the pic if you don’t believe me!)I marked this down for cost; not because they are not worth it; it’s just that you have to pay for premium membership to access everything. But for what you get for free with them is more than you could ever hope.YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

Why the Borg catchphrase as the title of this review? Well, like the borg the Tile Mate is cleverly engineered and efficient, but it's really only going to shine as part of the wider network, which requires a subscription fee. As part of the collective you can flag a device as lost and it will show up whenever another Tile user is nearby, increasing your chances of having the item returned. Honestly, it's a good system and at thirty quid a year I'm almost tempted. If you decide you don't want to spend the money on a subscription service, there's still a lot of value to be had.One tile, attached to your keys, for instance, and linked to you phone lets you track down your keys when you have your phone,or call your phone if you have the keyring. If you've left your keys on top of your phone somewhere then you're out of luck.Setup is simple BUT you will need to create an account, which make more sense if you are going to subscribe. Now, there are similar devices without the worldwide network which cost much less, so you should possibly weigh up the cost versus the value to be had from the phone app and the 2 way communication between the phone and the Tile device.Really like this, as I am getting to that point where the forgetfulness is real.

We're serial key losers in this house (well, my wife is, but it's never her fault.. obviously). I've been looking at these on and off for years but always thought "maybe next time". Anyway, after losing my keys (again) at Easter I finally took the plunge when they turned up a month later under the bed.Firstly, I couldn't believe how cheap they are now, £45 for 4. A few years back they were £30-40 each.Secondly, you probably don't need to subscribe to the premium features, the standard ones suit our needs just fine. You can 'ping' your Tile from your phone to see where it is and if its not in range you can see where it was when it lost bluetooth connection with your phone.A nice touch was finding out you can also do the reverse, you can use the Tile to 'ping' your phone if you can't find it (something else my wife constantly loses). The range and noise level is also very good. I was in two minds whether to get these or the Pro (which has a greater range and sound, but is larger), I'm glad I chose these, they're perfect. The App and setup is also very simple. For just over £10 each you can't go wrong with these - they're brilliant. Don't do what I did, buy them proactively, not reactively.

I'd thought about purchasing these for a long time, but always felt they would be a bit rubbish - as they are only bluetooth. However - I'm pleased to say I'm actually really impressed. I like that it isn't just a sound, but you can track how 'close' you are to the tile using the app. They aren't GPS, so unless your phone is within range of them, you'll be out of luck (but you can as the community to 'find' the tile - this is a free feature, doesn't require subscription). The range - well, it's difficult. Bluetooth doesn't work great through walls etc., however if you're just trying to find something in your home, a quick walk round with your phone soon sorts out that issue. There are extra features if you subscribe, however I don't think that any of them warrant the price of it; the 'free' features work well and perform the functions most will require.I don't like that the 'slim' is a non-replaceable battery, as this makes it a brick once the battery is dead; not good on cost grounds, or indeed green credentials - however a guaranteed 3 year life is pretty good for the device. The slim does fit into purses (even small ones) really well.

Ive noticed some of the people on here have clearly read the wrong instructions. It's easy. You lose you keys, you open the app and choose keys and your keys ring out from under a pile of clothes the other side of the house! If thats what you want then this is for you. Everybody I demo this to buys it and those that dont get one as an xmas prezzie. This is bluetooth but it will let you know on a map what shop/pub you left your keys in as it shows on a map the last place you were connected to the bluetooth, i.e where you left them!. I work in a bus garage with over 200 vehicles I left my keys on one of the buses at 5am when all the vehicles were rolling out to start their day.I stood at the exit gate and waited for my phone app to show a 'tile nearby' symbol. Then I knew it was on one of the nearest vehicles. Next, the green symbol turned constant and I knew I was within feet of my keys and I jumped on the nearest vehicle and found my keys under a seat. The app doesnt run my battery out at all as someone has said as I only turn on the app to 'call' the keys when they are lost.

This is a very handy little device and generally easy to use. Finding and installing the app, pairing with the tile and working out how to use it, was simple and trouble free and took about 5 minutes. After that you just open the app, click on find and the tile plays a happy tune, helping you find whatever item you attached it to. The range is good. It could still detect my tile when I put it upstairs and went into the garden.A couple of little points to note:I had intended to use it on my wallet, but it is too thick so it will have to go on my key ring. I lose my keys far more often but they generally turn up quickly and the wallet is more important. There is a slimmer version more suitable for a wallet but you have to throw it away when the battery runs out (they offer you a discounted replacement). To use it you have to turn on location which I normally leave off as it is very heavy on the battery. Once I turned off location, tile refused to connect, even after I turned location on again. I had to shut down the app and restart it, then it worked again.

As I'm sure the case for most people, bought this after having an incident of losing keys and spending an hour and half looking all over work (1sq mile) so I could drive home. I actually passed my keys twice in the search, before a colleague found them on the third pass. Having had this key fob would have helped me on my first pass hopefully, sounding once I was within proximity. Now I will say the time it takes for the phone to connect to keys within 10m can take upto a minute, so you will have to walk slowly. But atleast you could also get pinged if someone else with the app pings your keys if you mark them as lost. Luckily since that escapade, I've get my keys close to me, even with the fob on.I have a couple of times whilst the keys where in my pocket accidently pressing the button on the fob, causing my phone to ring a siren in my other pocket, minor price to pay.As it was a pack of 4, I used one for myself, gave two away to family and gave the last one to my colleague who helped me find my keys.

The Tile is a must have for anyone like myself who is always misplacing their keys, I’m an absolute nightmare - this product is a life saver! No more running around the flat like a headless chicken in the morning. The Tile simply connects to your mobile via, Bluetooth and periodically connects to the goo W so you can track and locate easily. You can locate the Tile in the app, which sends an alert to it which plays an audio notification on the Tile - this can be adjusted and the volume can also be changed. The app also has a little radar feature which shows you how close or far away you are from the Tile. It’s really simple to use and set up a breeze, they aren’t too expensive either and they are good value for money.I’ve used cheaper key finders and they haven’t worked as well, this Tile is absolutely spot on.You can also tap the button on the Tile itself to locate your mobile phone! There are so many handy features with this unit and I highly recommend it.
