So I embarked on a new PC build after many years out the game and built a Micro-ATX system which I initially put in a cheap £30 Micro-ATX case due to my budget at the time. Fast forward a few months and I realized that I'd want to be continually tweaking and modding my system (I can't help myself tinkering!) but needed to upgrade to a full ATX case to allow me breathing space for upgrades and better airflow.I spent ages reviewing all sorts of mid-tower cases and was pretty set on the Lian Li Lancool II until I came to order it and found it out of stock. With £100 burning a hole in my pocket and wanting something to arrive via Amazon Prime for a weekend rebuild,I searched again and stumbled across the Commander series of cases from Thermaltake and I'm so glad I did!Looking at reviews generally people say the front pair of 200mm fans cannot be speed controlled (correct - they can't) and that they're noisy, which in all honesty they're really not. My PC sits about 1.5ft from my head on the desk and it sounds like a small desk fan. Perhaps my perspective coming from a M-ATX case but I used to have all the 120mm case fans and GPU on 100% speed to keep things cool, this is very quiet in comparison so I'm happy about that. Also people do seem to go on about it "having a totally gamer look from 2012", at the end of the day it's your case so if you like it then buy it, I really like the look of mine (I went for the C35) as it has a two panel front mesh which ties in nicely with the fans, but didn't like some of the other front panel designs so much. Either way I much prefer the design to the Lian Li I was so close to buying! For reference - it took me a while to figure this out - the C31 to C36 cases are all identical and just have a different front panel design.Building in the case is a breeze, loads of room, especially for my Micro-ATX rig that's in there at the moment. Cooling is awesome, my GPU used to run at 80-85deg C with all fans on max in my old case but after a few hours testing in the same games it now sits at a steady 65deg which gives me loads of headroom for a bit of overclocking - awesome. My only minor nitpicks, from my perspective (I'm no case snob by any stretch!) the PSU shroud doesn't go all the way to the front so you can see into the bottom where all you're cables will likely be hidden, not a biggie as I'll knock up an acrylic panel to cover this. Also there are no grommets in the cable management slots, again no biggie, I'll just make some.Pros:+ Massive front intake fans for excellent airflow and cooling+ Can configure to a vertical GPU mount+ Loads of room for building and modifying+ Loads of room for radiators+ Loads of room for cable management (just note the visible front section of the PSU shroud)+ Front panel is cable-less (front I/O sits in the actual case)Cons:- Lack of gommets and full PSU shroud- I didn't get it free after writing this awesome review! My Rig:Asus Prime B450-MRyzen 2600 [email protected] Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200MHzDeepcool CPU AIO 240mm radAsus RX570 Rog Strix 8GB OC@1400mhZ

Much admired and does what I want it to do. Had to modify somewhat to make it suitable for my purpose, but it all works and my new supercomputer silently does what it needs to do.So, a super duper case, provided you replace the fans that come with it and as I already had a set in the spares box, not a problem. Quiet a large case by any standard, but I prefer to build on a full ATX board because I don't get younger and my hands get more arthritic and this case has plenty of space to build up into. Also, once I get a PC up and running as it should, I don't fiddle about with it and tend to leave well alone, only updating software when required, this should keep me happy for a couple of years at least.
