So far I've only used it for an over-nighter in summer conditions but I've found it easy to pack, unpack and inflate, all for a reasonable carrying weight. I've used a twin-foam Karrimat extreme from the 90s until now and was looking for something with a little more comfort on my hips and lower back. Allowing time for self-inflation then adding a couple of big breaths results in a firm and comfortable mattress for me. I bought a 'regular' size despite my being 6' 3" but haven't found the size to be a problem. I use a rucksack as a pillow, which leaves plenty of pad length for the rest of me. The sunset orange is a nice colour and the material isn't too slippery on a tent groundsheet.I'm not sure how robust this pad will be and I was a little disappointed to have to buy a repair kit as an optional extra. The valve seems to secure and should have a good working life. I can't testify as to the cold weather performance but I'll probably combine it with a closed cell foam mat when there's frost in the ground. It wasn't cheap but I'm hoping that comfort and longevity will offset that in the long run.

This is the first sleeping pad I bought and seems to be pretty highly recommended by various youtubers, etc. I got it and put it on a hard floor and went to sleep. This thing was amazingly comfortable. It borders on witchcraft how I can be a slide sleeper and not feel my shoulder jabbing through it into the floor. I haven't used it in the field yet but I'm sure it will be just as good.Tip for new buyers: It takes a long time to inflate the first time you unroll it. To fix this, blow air into it, seal the cap then push the air to the other side of the pad. Uncap it again. It will start sucking in a bit of air. When it stops repeat those steps again.

After trying about 3 different kinds of mattresses, I bought this one to take on motorcycle trips. It rolls up very small and the self inflation helps a lot, so I don't need a pump. You just have to let it sit with the valve open for a little while. Probably enough time to go eat or make dinner, give it a couple of puffs and it's good. I have a lot of back pain issues and I sleep on my side. This mattress keeps your side hip from grinding into the ground. Can't feel anything underneath. It's the best one I have found for the purpose I need it for!!!

Really enjoyed this pad. I camped in ~33ish degree weather & it was perfect. I chose this over the women's cut because many said the little extra length helped a lot when trying to stay on your pad (I got the regular and I'm 5'6"). I could tell a dramatic difference if I put my foot on the tent floor. I allow my pad to stay open when not in use (with the valve open, as the manufacturer suggests to do) and just unrolled it in the tent before dinner so it'd be ready by bed time. I added a few more puffs for firmness, but otherwise great.

So light. Easy to pack. Takes up little space. Very comfortable. If you want a firmer mattress, you do have to blow a few breaths of air into it but it only needs 2 good lungfulls - Easy. I use this with my Rab Ridge Raider Bivi - perfect fit. It's now my number one choice for all camping trips. Just open the valve and leave alone for 10-20 minutes for it to 'breathe' the air in. Then close the valve and roll all the air to the bottom. Unroll flat again and re-open the valve to suck more air in. So simple.

I ordered the large and it was slightly narrower than I expected but it wasn't really a problem at all. I'm 5'11", 160 lbs and height and width were good, very rarely found my bag slipping of it. Used during a week in Yosemite split between a campground and back country camping. Also very quiet, unlike a friend's extra light blow-up pad.It did not self-inflate much during the first use or two, but once it was being regularly used it worked well (still added more air for additional stiffness)

My husband and I both purchased this unit for our first backpacking trip. It rocks!! It was extremely easy to set up, comfortable to sleep on, and most importantly... It did not take up too much space in our packs! Adding a layer between your sleeping bag and the ground makes ALL the difference. We did a lot of research into different brands and models before purchasing this one... The time online paid off. I would definitely recommend this to fellow hikers and travelers.

I have the regular size mat which is a good fit for my height (5ft 9 inches.)Insulation is superb even on cold ground. It self inflates in 5 minutes and can be topped up with just a few puffsAfter 3 years of use it has proved to be a reliable sleeping mat with zero leaks. At approx 3 cm thick it is a compromise that still leaves an acceptable amount of headroom in my backpacking tent, whilst being comfortable for a side sleeper.

Very small when rolled up. Comfortable for sleeping. self-inflation works best if you store it inflated as much as possible. Foam will have a tendency to stay in its most common state (squished or expanded). For best results, I'd recommend inflating it for about a few days prior to using it, then roll it back up right before leaving. This was also always easy to get into the stuff sack that came with it.

This mattress provided very good insulation from the cold ground and decent cushioning. It was light but bulkier than I expected, especially having minimal space in my pack for a 7 day trek. Overall, I'm very happy with it. My old therm-a-rest is an antique and still holds air with no problem; it was just shorter than I wanted for this trip. High quality line of products.

Completely worth the extra bulk in physical space, this self-inflating mattress is truly designed for rugged camping in highly fast-paced environments in all weather conditions. Especially nice is the slow adjustment knob to get just the right air pressure for custom comfortability in a fast inflating mattress which I have been using for months now as a bed in my home.

Love the small pack size! For a self inflation pad this is the best for backpacking.I used this for 5 nights backpacking in the Wind River Mountains, two of the nights got down into the 20’s and I was impressed at the insulation that this pad provided. It was quite compared to the air filled light weight pads that others in our group used.

Very compact! My family has been using Thermarest for a very long time. I used to be impressed with how small this packed up on our originals, was even more blown away when I got one a few years ago, but am still really happy with how much smaller the one I recently purchased packed up. Still the same great quality!

This is a great product would buy again in a heart beat. Will most likely by another one for the wife on our next trip. Good balance from support to cushion, and pack down pretty good. Stop reading reviews and buy it. Not recommended for Ultra-Light hiker but a Light hiker who needs some comfort.

I am a big camper/hiker and this thing has helped me sleep a lot better in the back country. It was finally time to spend money on a good pad and it has been worth it. One thing is that it has insulated me from the ground so well that I was actually too hot. Have to recalibrate my needs for bags.
