We bought this for our son's 2nd birthday and he loves it. I was initially a bit worried about getting him a torch as some are really quite bright and kids tend to look straight into the light. This one is perfect, it shines bright enough to light up the wall/floor/ceiling, but not so strong that I worry about my son hurting his eyes. I feel the batteries are securely hidden away and won't pop out if he drops the torch. The colour changing feature is crude but fun. This is not a torch for exploring the garden at night, its a torch to play with looking under furniture and playing with light on walls. We love it!

This is good toy, but be aware of the spring that comes out the bottom, not good for little hands
