Anyone who is a huge Simpsons fan will like this game. If you have watched quite a few Simpsons episodes (if not all!) you will spot many memorable scenes hidden in the game.I believe the downside is the conversion from console to PC. There just are not enough options to improve graphics details. I was able to run the game on the highest resolution possible 1600x1200 with no problem, even though my computer is over a year old. If you are expecting EAX surround sound think again. The game has stereo setting only. I suppose this is an appeal to those with fairly old PCs.The controls are a bit awkward, particularly because you have to press the [ENTER] occasionally to get rid game play tips that pop up (these can be turned of though).I prefer GTA style controls with the mouse and WASD movement. The game play itself if quite inferior to that of GTA.The cut scene when your character talks to someone else; they will always stand face to face and there is no body movement present. This kind of gives a claustrophobia feeling when you are playing the game, not much interaction going on. The worse is the puppet like mouth movement which of course will never be in sync with what the character is saying (Bart does not seem to move his mouth at all). Decent but short cut scenes occur at the end of each level.Overall the graphics and character err... characteristics could have been improved. Top of the range PC users may be disappointed. But it is a Simpsons game and some scenes will make you laugh. But because of the character underdevelopment don't expect the same wit as those classic Simpsons episodes. Watch out for Lisa who looks nothing like how she does on TV (too many spikes on her head!).

Where do I start with this game? Well, take GTA: Vice City, and mix it with Mario 64 and you have Simpsons Hit & Run. This game is one of the most addictive games I have ever played, and (for all you fellow Simpsons fans out there), it sticks to the series in so much detail.You play from a list of charaters including Homer, Bart & Apu, and there is nearly every Simpsons character on the game walking about who you can interact with, Every level has 3 extra sets of costumes for your character that can be bought. There are over 40 cars to choose from (that need to be earned or won) throughout the game, and on every level there is a secret vehicle hidden within the level that can only be used on that particular level (try and find them,they're hard... but they're worth it, Apu's car is a monster truck!!!!!). On each level there are 7 missions and 1 secret mission (which earns you a vehicle), and there are also races that earn you cars too.., and there are also Simpsons collector cards on every level which when all collected, earn you a level on a bonus racing game.The only draw back I can find with this game is that with 3 weeks of solid gaming I finished all the levels, the upside is that (like GTA: Vice city), you need to complete the game 100% before you actually properly finish the game, to do this you need to complete every level, and collect everything (cars, costumes, cards etc...)But I have to say, for a Simpsons fanatic like myself, I was exspecting a ripoff game, but it really isn't!!!! It's awsome, and the GTA style stunts that can be done are pretty damn cool too....Trust me, if you want a game that'll keep you busy for a while, buy this one!!!!

The story starts as mysterious black vans and weird bee-like secuirity cameras pop up all over springfield. You play as various simpsons characters throughout the game, though it may take some time to unlock the later characters.The driving itself is rather interesting, almost everytime you bump into someone or something, your character will say some kind of catchphrase, the most memorable being "Easy as pie! Mmmmmm.... pie....." by Homer, "Easy as Pie! The number, that is" By Lisa and the ever popular "D'oh and Eat my Shorts" by Homer and Bart.You will be able to drive over 35 cars including the family saloon, Canyonaro, Honor Roller, Malibu Stacy Car, school bus and many more.The chapters are long and fun,but sometimes they become very irritating as you are told to do many very boring and unnescary tasks. For example when I had to find bart as lisa, I had to do some very stupid tasks. I had to collect dead fish, then do more stupid things for a very unrewarding end of level.The simpsons hit and rune is basically Crazy Taxi combined with the simpsons. However, you can get off your car, unlike The simpsons Road Rage. It has its bad points. But the good points overshadow the bad.

This game is one of those games that everyone wants to see remastered for current generation consoles. It's just that good.The game is most known for its Grand Theft Auto style gameplay as it just plays like one. You do good, you get rewards and if you do bad, well, cops come after you.The game was voiced acted by the original Simpsons cast, and the game had great jokes and lines. The jokes and voices that the game contained made the game much more appealing in quality.There re a lot of places to roam free around in Springfield. A lot of places featured in some Simpsons episodes are also there. The fun part is the at there are a lot of secret areas where each area has a moment.Such as seeing an NPC character doing something funny. But there are also secret cards hidden throughout the city to persuit.The missions are alright. But the problem is that they heavily rely on vehicles. The missions are pretty much getting to places as quickly as possible in a vehicle. So that's when the game starts to lose its fun.The graphics in this game are good. The detail is there when you feel that there needs to be, and the colours are spot on.

Big Simpsons fan. Big GTA fan. But I had my reservations about Hit & Run. The history of the Simpsons licence on console/PC is poor at best, after all.Thankfully, Hit & Run breaks the mould. Yes, it's GTA in Simpsons wrapping paper, but the quality of the licence has been fully utilised. Kids will love it for the dayglo colours and whacky characters. Adults will love it for the knowing humour. Fans will love it for the insane attention to detail and in-jokes.And hey, surprise surprise, the game plays very well indeed. Sure, at the core the gameplay is pure GTA, but that's no bad thing. Especially when it's layered with massive amounts of audio feedback from the original cast.Plus there's loads of Easter-Eggs for the hardcore gamer/fanboy to unearthIn short, I wasn't expecting to be impressed. But every time I finish playing I come away smiling. Plus, where else can you see Homer J in a devil suit singing, "I am Evil HOM-ER!" Worth the price of admission on its own, frankly.

This game is very amusing (no question about that) and a must have for especially fans of The Simpsons.A reviewer ("virtuallydone") mentioned some problems with system requirements - well, you need to upgrade or buy a new computer once in a while if you want to play the new games! Actually, this game runs quite smooth on my pc (3-4 years old). Furthermore - this game is not AIMED at 7+. This number tells you that a 7 year old child is allowed to experience the contents of the game - it is certainly NOT the level of difficulty! Finally - the cars ARE different and DO NOT "behave pretty much the same".This game is not easy and can be frustrating from time to time,and you have to get used to the changing angle of the camera when you are on foot - but it's still a great game. Recommendable.PS: If a mission is too difficult you can skip it after a few attempts.

A game that I just had to re-buy after I had it a while back for one of my consoles, it provides a large amount of entertainment to anyone that wants to play a good game. The things that are important to consider is the date that the game was first released and the advances that have been seen in gaming, this can lead to points in the game where you get bored of the image and sound quality as well as points where the controls are hard to use because the camera angles get to you. Still this being said it is still a great game and once you get used to the difference in quality it is a very good game and allowed me to revisit one of my favourite games from the time I was growing up.In conclusion it doesn’t matter if you are buying it for the first time or are buying it to replay it after you get used to it you will be able to enjoy a good game.

This title is definately one for the die hard Simpsons fan, combining great gameplay with all the qualities of your favourite show. Including many great one liners, and much abuse of Flanders!The game allows you to play as different characters from the series, and drive vehicles such as the 'Plow King' amongst others (will not spoil the surprise!) Most of the story is new adding a hint of originality to the game play, including most of the major venues in the series from the School to the Quickie Mart.A warning however, the system requirements states 128MB RAM. A friend tried it on his system at this level and it was very 'glitchie.' Would recommend at least 256MB for the video streaming,and the 3D effects.

This game is a complete laugh! I love it .... I was originally looking for a shoot em up (Hyuk Hyuk! I like em a lot!) but came away with this baby.I've never been big on car chase/race games but being a Simpsons fan I thought I'd give it a try and I must admit I don't regret it. I keep finding myself making excuses to my wife just so I can sneak a play!! Shocking!!It really is fun especially if u watch the Simpsons so you can dig all the in-jokes (where's my anorak??). The game play is easy to master and the detail that has gone into the game is pretty awesome.Like I say...pure fun....Halo can wait until next year coz I'll be engrossed in this for quite some time!!!Buy it and chuckle!!!!!

Well I'm impressed! Didn't think I was going to be as I had a bash on the PS2 version and although it seemed ok, the PS2 is woefully underpowered and the PS2's audio leaves a lot to be desired. Bought the PC version as my little sister loves the Simpsons and it's been me who's been playing it most! The PC visuals are nothing short of brilliant! Sharp and colourful, smooth as silk and funny as hell! The only thing keeping me from giving it full marks is already I can see that it will not last very long. But never mind...it is a welcome treat for Simpsons fans and will tide many people over until the next Grand Theft Auto.

This is a great game and can keep you entertained long after you have finished it. The missions are fairly easy but it takes time to collect all the bonus veichles, clothing ect. The Game is played in 3 locations, the docks, downtown, and the general evergreen terrace/powerplant area. You can be marge, bart, homer, lisa and apu. Though in several missions you take on the roles of others such as cletus the hillbily and chieff wiggum. All the voiceovers are done by the real cast and the storyline is as good as any epsiode.Its a great game!

I played this game on the xbox expecting it to be the easiest thing in the world, but by the last level i was getting damn frustrated by the excellent challenges it throws you.Granted the mission formats are few and quite a few missions are similar but as one of the biggest fans of the simpsons around i loved all the easter eggs, characters and jokes the game was packed with.This game is great.Buy it. Its fun, and with all the hidden extras this game will take you a long time to complete!

All of the simpsons game have been utter crap, no point deniing it. but i have has different tactis about hit and run. the graphics are good, and the characters are v. good too. you travel around lods of different areas, lods of levels. this is GTA style but in a simpsons way. being, too young to own GTA myself, this game is for anyone who would like grand theft auto but is too young to have it.

Ordered the game. Came well before expected unfortunately it didn't work on my PC but worked on a friends. So I had to send it back and the customer service was excellent. Just a shame it didn't work as I wanted to wind back the years and re live some childhood experiences.

I played it on the gamecube and all it was was a load of fun!!I loved how you can wander around anywhere and when you feel like it, you can do a mission. Although I've never played it with Apu, it is THE BEST, brill graphics, bloomin' good!
