Longtime Merrell user here.Having used different pairs of Merrell shoes for over 10 years through all sorts of goretex walking shoes/trainers iterations I was loathe to try a new make.But recently I've been unimpressed with both the fit and the build quality of their offerings. Some say it's because of the outsourcing to China from USA but who knows - but something is off on Merrell town.The fit used to be spot on and they tended to last a year - 18 months of solid wear and tear. But now you have to order half a size to a whole size up and that's even wearing only lightweight and normal socks.Use walking/thermal socks and you may have to go 2 sizes up to get a good fit.

Great comfortable shoes but as other reviews say - in the wet they can bit slippery on certain types of stone / tiles.Got these about a month ago now. Mainly for walking to work when its raining so they'll keep feet dry etc.. For that purpose they work well. They feel really supportive, not too heavy and relatively light / springy for walking type shoes.waterproof wise - no complaints. work really. well.Size wise I got a 45 (euro) which normally fits quite well in other shoes. In these they do have quite a bit of extra space - perhaps meant for allowing you to wear thick socks.The only down side I have seen / experienced since getting them is that on certain types of stone or tiles (like in the entrance to the train station)

I've never once had any problems with any 'North Face' products. I have come to regard them as a reliably rugged standard of quality as with this pair of Gore-Tex water resistant but breathable walking shoes too. I've got 5 other pairs of walking shoes and boots, for all seasons and situations, but some are getting a bit thin on the soles now, so it's time to get at least one new pair and these are them. The size 10.5 is just right for my 'plates of meat' as I always try to get the extra half size for when the flesh on a person's feet expands due to extra blood flow, heat, and water regulating after they have walked just a few miles. That extra half size can be a lifesaver on longish treks.

Bought these to use on a 10 day trekking holiday. Bit of a last-minute purchase and chose these over similar ones based on how they look (wanted something more like a trainer than a walking boot). Must say that this is one of my best purchases in years - shoes are super comfortable straight out the box, no need to wear them in. I wore them continually for 11 days on planes, boats, quad bikes, push bikes, walking, running, on the beach, in sand dunes, rocky trails, Acacia forests, etc. They stood up to everything and remained comfortable. Only time my feet felt the elements was when I got caught out by a fast tide on the shore and my feet got submerged. Note: if water goes in the top of the shoe,

I have never had to size up or down, but in this case I had to. I initially ordered my usual 10. But had to exchange fo 9.5 which were a good fit. I was worried the 9.5 might be too narrow, but they were fine. Good sole, very good support, light and easy to wear. I have them in all black and they look more like a cross between a trainer and a walking shoe. In my opinion they have neat fit and appearance - unlike some Berghaus and Merrell shoes I have tried. They are all black with a reflective silver triangle on the top. At first, this kept making me think I’d spilt something on my toe! ?. Apart from that - all good.

I purchased these shoes a size larger than I normally would to allow for some foot swelling if on my feet all day. The shoes are as described and I find them very comfortable although are just a little bit larger than I would have expected. Another pair of North Face shoes in the same size are a slightly better fit. Overall, an excellent lightweight shoe.

I walk between 90 and 100 miles per week and these are so comfortable to wear for these longer distances .I walk mostly on hard ground,tarmac/concrete rather than grass and hold up well to the extra friction this causes.Great buy so I got a second pair in reserve for when i do wear these through

Very comfortable pair of walking shoes . Size was exactly as required and hoped for. I am a size 10 in normal shoes but for walking with standard walking socks these are just fine. very smart looking as well.

Have a pair already that I really like and find very comfortable so saw these at a really good price and decided to get so that I have a spare pair for when the first pair eventually wear out

My husband is very happy with the trainers,They were bought as a replacement for his other North Face Gore Tex trainers which are now almost worn out after several years of dog walking!

Having bought some cheaper alternatives that ended up being too small i decided to spend the extra and get these. Perfect fit and comfortable from the outset.

My second pair of North Face walking shoes, the first pair lasted three years of hard usage. They fit my feel well, are well made and perfectly waterproof.

Fit me perfectly - I have wide feet.I've done about 30 miles walking and similar cycling in them so far - through rain and snow - work just as described.

Ordered 2 pairs in different sizes to get the correct fit. Returns policy as very easy and refund was very quick. Very happy with this product.

Good light weight walkers , good value considering they are gortex . I have had a similar pair from north face and they lasted well .
