Great Whisky. Always loved "The Macallan" sherry cask in all of it's iterations over the years. The old white box version from the eighties and nineties, which was less sweet and more robust was my all time favourite, but this serves me very well and there is very little to compete with it convincingly (Balvenie, Glenfarclas, Tenne), however, there are other excellent whiskies to be had for this money. So "The Macallan" has more competition than perhaps it previously once did, when in my opinion, it was untouchable. "The Macallan" may have changed over the years and for me not all for the better, yet it still is one of the best whiskies around, which just shows how good it was. This particular one, compared to the newer releases I prefer, even though the quality is still there in the Amber and Sienna, this one just has the taste I like.

First time I've ordered whisky via Amazon but I'm sure won't be the last. Couldn't find a decent Macallan in the local shops and spotted this. Almost bought the 12yr old oak cask but noticed that was c£52 + £5 delivery and the Sherry oak cask was c£57 incl delivery. Didn't need to worry about how it would arrive as it was well packaged (as per the photo).Flavour is really great - my first try of the Sherry oak and it's excellent.Ordered on the 9th Dec and arrived on the 12th Dec. Only just sampled this evening - been waiting for the right day!!

I love it, but my palate is not delicate enough to easily discern the quality over Aberlour 12 or Glenfiddich 15 solera, which you can get for £30-35 in supermarkets. Sure, it's REALLY sherried, and you can feel it when comparing them in the same tasting session, but the differences are tiny. The package and bottle are beautiful, the colour is very rich, almost red, and they don't sell it on every corner, so it's a nice gift or presentation.I gifted it to myself. I'm very happy about it :-)

Macallan still makes great whisky however the price to quality ratio definitely leaves something to be desired. That being said I still think that this is the best example of what Macallan has to offer without spending £300-400 on a bottle of the 18 year old.I’ve had far, far better whiskies however for it’s age this whisky does provide a well rounded experience. Unfortunately most bottles from this distillery are simply being bought as investments solely thanks to the brand name.

Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Single Malt WhiskyPure magic. the only thing to beat a 12 year old Macallan is an 18 year old from the same distillery.Read all the books, this is the favorite. Buy the 18 year old for an investment and the 12 year old to enjoy. There are other single malts to try and enjoy with different shades and flavours but in the end, it is always The Macallan that you come back to..

My brother in law is a whisky fanatic, and MacAllan is one of his favourites. The bottle looks very elegant and classy and the price was much better than other providers including other online drink traders. I would definitely recommend buying from this seller and the bottle arrived safely and securely packaged which is also very important considering it's a Xmas present.

Have tried many Whiskies over the years and this is my favourite single malt. Laphroaig is my least favourite. So Macallan 12 is the way to go if your in the mood for something a bit more special than Mr Grouse. Only downside is the bottle seems to empty very quickly.

I may be biased towards Macallan but I like this way better than 15 year old competitors like Glenfiddich, Glenlivet (not Dalmore though). That also reflects in its price but still cheaper than 18 YO.It's complex yet smooth. Suitable for a drink with friends

Was purchased as a Christmas present for my Granada, I personally never tasted it but he said it is the nicest he has ever tasted and you can tell the difference from the usual stuff that can be purchased from supermarkets to this which is much harder to find

If I left this bottle alone for 6 years it would be matured for 18 year and would technically be a Macallan 18 bottle instead of the 12 and would be worth £215 or if I left this for 13 years to mature it would be a Macallan 25 worth £880

Where do I start? Got this as a nice surprise from my wife and wow incredible. The best whisky I have drank full stop. So easy to drink and gorgeous taste. It was so good less than 2 weeks later I went and bought another bottle

Bought for my husband at Christmas - he loves it. So much so I have taken pity on him and ordered some more! Good price, packaged well and arrived within the time indicated on the order. Very happy with my purchase.

A nice tasting whisky with not to much bite, smooth and the more you drink it grows on you, lovely looking bottle for a present but no box sent with it so they lost a star, but all in all can't really fault it.

Great whisky.Unfortunately Macallan whisky does command a certain price. For my tastes they are other whiskys which represent better value for money. However it is a very good whisky and I will buy again.

This is my reference whisky, and never disappoints. It's like coming home .. gone are my student days in Edinburgh when I could pick up a bottle for 12 quid, unfortunately!
