Have you ever wanted to be Bear Grylls?Pros:- Beautiful scenery. The Canadian landscape is faithfully transported to the game- Awesome soundtrack. It immerses you into the wilderness and loneliness of the survivalism.- The mechanics of wind, weather, body warm, snow, are all perfectly realistic.Cons:- It still feels half-baked (it was crowd funded, then it was released as an early access on steam and it had countless updates since). You can’t interact with certain items, you can’t jump nor climb anything (forums are full of complaints and requests, mostly unjustified)

I really, REALLY enjoyed this game. Such a great game for an amazing price. The survival element takes a wee while to get used to the mechanics but after that it’s weeks of walking, exploring, hunting and crafting things.The game has many modes and I enjoyed the story campaign and the various level challenges, I still haven’t finishe it all off.I really enjoyed playing a podcast and sitting relaxing with this game.Highly recommended in general but for anyone looking for a captivating and (mostly!) relaxing gaming experience this is a MUST!

The Long Dark is a strong survival game, possibly even the strongest of the entire genre.A beautiful Canadian wilderness provides the backdrop to a challenging but largely satisfying fight for survival. While managing every facet of your well-being while trying to survive might sound tedious but it actually ends up being fun, satisfying, and even tense.With three more episodes to come for this title's story mode, there's already tons of content to chow down on. Just watch out for the wolves and those strange lights in the sky.

Absolutely fantastic.Bought this just after reading a few reviews about PC but I can't put it down now. I've sunk about a hundred hours and only feel like I've scratched the surface. Purposefully staying away from maps and spoilers just so I can explore. A few of my friends have bought this and are hooked.It's a disservice to say it's a bit like Firewatch and Fallout mixed together but I'm struggling to find better games that are similar.I can't remember being this hooked on a game for a long time.

I can't believe some of the negativity in the reviews. This is a game made with love from the developer (hinterland) who have strived to constantly work on improving this game while adding more free content.It's a survival game, which might not be to everyone's taste. But if your intrigued by something a bit different. It's a game that can offer the right balance between stress and meditation. In a beautiful watercolour landscape. It's a superb game.If you use this game as a coaster, you have no soul.

A very absorbing survival experience set in the frozen wastes of Canada that keep you coming back for more. There's a Story mode that I've not explored yet, but I've been through all the maps on Survival mode. I'd recommend the Mystery Lake and Mountain Town maps for beginners with a difficulty setting of 'Voyager'. I think the easiest setting (Pilgrim - where wolves and bears avoid you) is probably too easy.

Although the graphics are rubbish after about five to seven hours you really get into the game, really frustrating needing food, water, sleep, all the time but that's what the game is all about, I also miss the jump action which can't be done. All said and done you want to keep pushing it to the end. Good game in the end. Cheers.

Great game don't listen to the people who complain for 8 pound its a bargain there still more episode's to come for the story missions and even survival is so much fun graphics are nice not the best but still good game play might take a bit to get used to but once you do trust me its a blast.

What can I say you are alone in the Canadian wilderness trying to survive this is not a game I have ever played before it’s very slow and deliberate annoying at times it’s taken a little while to get into but for sure it’s a cracking little game worth the money

Do not make the mistake of thinking this a full game. However do not be dismayed, the premise of the game is very good. I would like more of the game to be released soon. To be honest i love playing the game and exploring the game enviroment in survival mode.

Great game for people that enjoy playing at their own pace and not trying to keep up with everyone else online just to stay in the game.New to this game but enjoying it very much, has me always wanting to go back for more.Great price nice choice.

This is one of the best games I have ever played on PS4. It can be slow and immensely irritating (when you die because you were greedy or stupid) but that heightens the faster moments in the game.
