The House of Marley Positive Vibration XL are a new line of affordable wireless over-ear headphones from the company. In this review, I have broken the headphones down into four key categories.FeaturesThe Positive Vibration XL headphones are fully wireless headphones over Bluetooth 5.0 technology, and have a 24-hour battery life with quick charging over USB C – 10 minutes of charging adds 4 hours of playback which is useful in a pinch. The headphones can also be used in wired mode with an included 3.5mm cable if required, but with the long battery life you would be hard pressed to run out of battery. The headphones use 40mm drivers with a 20 Hz - 20,000 Hz frequency response. There is a built-in microphone in the headphones that is used for telephone calls and speaking commands to virtual assistants on your smartphone. The headphone earcups are foldable so the size footprint can be made more compact, and the earcups can swivel 180 degrees to lie flat on a surface if needed. On the headphones are built in media controls through three buttons (power, Vol Up, Vol Down), and on the included 3.5mm cable is a single button that handles controls. The headphones come well packaged in a minimalistic cardboard box which is of course fully recyclable. Inside the box you get a REWIND fabric stash bag, braided USB C charging cable, braided 3.5mm jack cable with remote, quick start guide, warranty info, a Marley branded sticker and of course the headphones themselves.DesignThe headphones come in three different primary colours to choose from, Signature Black, Copper & Blue. They have a thick chunky design and they do sit very wide on top of your head, but the design aesthetic is pleasing, they look and feel far more premium than the price would reflect. The circular engraved wooden highlights add a classy contrast to the design. The headphones are built tough with a solid anodized aluminium shell for the earcup which gives them that premium feel. The headband is extendable & is made of the same REWIND fabric used for the carrying case instead of plastic like on most headphones, and adds another unique contrast to the overall design. There is a small Bluetooth LED pairing & charge indicator light where the headphone controls sit.House Of Marley is known for its Eco responsibility, all of their products are sustainably crafted with various recycled materials and these headphones are no exception. This product uses responsibly harvested FSC certified wood, recycled aluminium, fabric, plastic and paper for its construction components and packaging. The purchase of this product will also help to plant one tree in an effort to help global reforestation. Some people might not care about all of this, but regardless it is setting an example for other companies to follow suit and start caring about the sustainability of their products and the condition of the planet.SoundBy far the most important aspect for a pair of headphones, especially for wireless ones as they need to have a great sound performance to help warrant the increased cost. I am pleased to report these headphones have great sound quality for their price. The sound signature has an emphasis on vocal and instrument clarity with high end frequencies being enhanced. Bass is prevalent, helped by two small vent ports on the top of the earcups, though it’s certainly not overpowering and fairly balanced, however sometimes it can leave you wanting more (I am a bit of a bass head). At maximum volumes, there is some distortion mainly in the high end that can sometimes cause mids and lows to get drowned out, but this largely depends on the type of music you listen to. They are not the loudest headphones, but are more than satisfactory. Something to note is there is a big difference in sound when switching from wired to wireless mode. As the headphones don’t use any power whilst in wired mode, there is no additional sound processing by the DAC (digital audio converter) and the drivers rely entirely on the power output of your playback device. They have a fairly low impedance and can be powered just fine from your phones audio jack, but plugging these into a powered headphone DAC would yield better results for wired sound quality. Given the target demographic however, I would imagine most people would solely use these headphones wirelessly. The natural Passive Noise Cancelling created by the seal on these headphones works well when playing music, at higher volumes you cannot hear anything in the outside world, you can barely hear your own voice if you talk. There is a bit of noise bleed however, so if you’re blasting your music in quiet environments others will be able to hear it.ComfortThe headphones overall are comfortable to wear, however the ear cushions have small openings for your ears to sit inside which does affect the comfort if you have large ears. The headphones can also slip forward, so they are not ideal for exercise. If you wear glasses, these headphones can be a little tight initially, but they just need some time for the headband to ear in. I got used to the headphones the more I wore them, and they got a little more comfortable as the memory foam started adjusting to my head shape. As with most over ear style headphones, these headphones can get warm quickly and can be uncomfortable for extended use as these headphones have little space for breathing room.Overall, if you have a limited budget and want wireless over ear headphones, these headphones offer really good sound and functionality at a fair price. They are versatile, look stylish and give you a lot for the money. If you found this review helpful, please consider clicking on the helpful button below, it helps me out!

It was so easy to connect these earphones by Bluetooth. I just turned on Bluetooth by searching for it on my laptop, pressed the middle button on the headphones, added new device on the laptop and it found the headphones ‘Positive Vibrations XL’ clicked connect on the laptop. Simple as that.I just love these headphones, the sound coming through the headphones is absolutely incredible. I would not have believed the quality but when I connected to Amazon music I was blown away by the sound. They are also very comfortable to wear being easily adjustable. The headband is cushioned for comfort and covered with fabric and the headphones are foldable for easy storage. The ear pads themselves are like feather cushions. This is the first pair of headphones I have owned as I normally use small earphones, the buds fitting into the ear and I have now been converted, no more falling out of ears. When you take the headphones out of the box, they can be used straightaway but it is best to charge them with the included usb cable before use, a 2 hour charge lasts about 24 hours.I have had the sound on full volume and it has not disturbed anyone in the same room as me which is a real bonus as when I used my cheap earphones on a French train, I had a few angry faces looking at me and gesturing as I was blissfully unaware I was causing a disturbance! The House of Marley are very conscious of the environment and this is quite clear when manufacturing their products. They have a website if you want to know more.I would have liked to have given this product 5 stars but I feel the one thing that lets this product down and I find quite irritating is the on/off/connect and volume controls which are on the right side of the headphones (left and right are marked) are black on black so I find them quite difficult to see before I put them on my head.Summing up, fantastic sound, light to wear, well made, very comfortable, well priced and consideration has been given to the environment

In many ways, these headphones are every bit as good as my Beats Solo 3 noise cancelling ones - and they retail for about half the price. This headset has a number of attractive and above all useful features.Firstly, it’s extremely easy to set up. The unit fully charged in less than an hour and Bluetooth pairing was swift and trouble-free. Whilst the controls are a little more basic than those on the Beats headphones, they are responsive and simple to use.Secondly, the sound quality and noise-cancelling properties of these headphones are superb. Performance remains the same across a range of music genres, although the hardcore classical music fan may notice a very slight distortion at higher volumes.Another thing to note is that there will be a slight variation in sound quality between wired and wireless use. This is due to wired mode solely using the power of your equipment rather than the digital audio converter. However, this is a minor point and will be of little concern to most users. Finally, the construction of these headphones is excellent. They are light, fit easily and the memory foam cushioning allows for prolonged use without discomfort. The headphones also fold into a small and neat package for storage. All the materials are from recycled or sustainable sources.Using recycled materials and an overtly sustainable approach, Marley have produced a high quality but reasonably-priced challenge to their more expensive competitors. Overall, an extremely pleasant surprise.

I listen to a lot of music, radio shows and audio books, up until now I've been using the in ear kind of earphones, however the older I get the more uncomfortable I'm finding them and they seem to give me earache (although I'm not really sure why). Anyway I was really pleased to be able to try these House of Marley over ear type of headphones. And first off ... boy are they comfortable. They are so comfortable I could literally fall asleep wearing them (as long I'm sitting in an armchair or something similar of course). The ear cups are nicely padded as is the head band which is also adjustable. These headphones are amazing, they have superior sound quality with really good bass sounds.I've found that the maximum Bluetooth range inside our solid thick stone walled house is only about 5 meters but outside I can get a good 10 to 12 metres distance. The headphones also have an inbuilt microphone for hands free calling. These headphones are a synch to pair to my Sony Xperia 10 (my husband also had no problem pairing these to his iPhone 8 plus). They also give a long 24 hours of playing time from a quick two hour charge. All in all I've been very impressed with everything about these headphones and consider these a top of the range pair. Price wise ... although quite pricey at around £80 (price correct at the time of this review) you certainly get what you pay for.If you found my review helpful please click the helpful button below.

Was looking forward to getting these....my last pair of Marley's were excellent...not blue tooth ones but great sound. These are very nicely finished, they are very comfy on the ears and keep the background noise out. I'm still a bit old school with my headphones..my "Classic" iPod isn't blue tooth enabled so I'm relying more on the cable..which brings me to my major disappointment...the cable supplied has a small control module on it for answering mobile messages. IT seemed to be faulty out of the box...and i could only get full sound by holding the tiny button down. I have swapped in another cable and it is fine.I tried the bluetooth connection with my samsung phone and that works well...it connected with no problem and sound quality was good. There are volume + and - buttons on the ear piece which you can adjust while they are on , the blue tooth pairing is also enabled from the earpiece, the button between the + and -Charge up is from usb C cable ...which is great ..as you can use the same cable as mobile with that format.Very nicely packaged and recyclable is the name of the game, cardboard and paper are the main ingredients....and they even used string (not plastic coated string...or plastic cable ties) to hold the cables together.Apart from my minor disappointment ...they are still top notch headphones..

At around £100, these over-ear cans from House of Marley are some of the best value, most comfortable headphones I've found, competing with rivals that are often two or three times more expensive.Opening the box, there is a storage bag, the headphones and some cables, including a 3.5mm jack in case you run out of juice or can't Bluetooth music to them, and a USB-C charging cable. The headphones expand and are comfortable on your head, adjusting to suit the size of your head - they feel fairly lightweight, but also sturdy. The cushioning on the ear pads is really quite divine, and makes you forget they're even there.Sound quality wise, these excel again - they have great bass, great treble, and great clarity. They sound far, far more expensive than the price point of these - House of Marley say this is because of the 40mm Hi Definition drivers. Podcasts sound crisp and clear and, whilst they don't have powered noise cancellation, the seal feels seriously effective when on a busy train that you wouldn't even notice it.Marley also believe in carbon off-setting - for each pair bought, at least one tree is planted, and they use recycled aluminium and FSC-certified wood to be as sustainable as possible. These are hot contenders for premium headphones - recommended.

had a headphone before. It was a famous brand and I paid almost 10 times more. Believe me, this headset is much better than that. The sound quality is incredible.likes to listen to music and her audiobooks all the time and she goes through headphones very fast as she tends to fall asleep listening. These are really comfortable and fit tightly around your ears. I like the fact that they have big letters L and R inside to clearly show which side is which. You can easily fold them for storage in provided pouch. All typical cables are included as well. No issues with connecting and you can go to next room without losing signal through the wall. The quality of audio far exceeded my expectations and is surprisingly good in terms of treble and bass. Also the design and build quality is superb and are easy to carry around because of the folding compact design.Unbelievable value.

I love these headphones! I had been looking at new ones for a while and finally found these when researching sustainable options. The price was great compared to other brands I’d looked at and I definitely still got everything I wanted and more! They look and feel great - I could wear them for hours - and the sound quality is excellent. The controls on the headphones themselves are great and everything is really good quality. Most impressive is the battery life. I have used these A LOT and still not had to charge them!I’m not a headphone expert but I would definitely recommend these over more expensive brands that actually look and feel a lot cheaper!
