It's nice to see a speaker that looks a bit less technological, although I'm sure it's highly technological inside. The bamboo front is lovely, and the "Marley" logo is artfully faded-looking. The black weave fabric on the back is made from recycled PET with cotton and hemp fibre. The sound is very good, particularly if you like extended (and rather exaggerated) bass. there's a decent stereo separation for such a small speaker, and the reflex port on the back pumps out a surprising amount of air, giving a rich bass sound. Given the name, one has to assume that the speaker is intended for playing bass-rich music, and it does so very well. It is a lot larger than my favourite Bluetooth speaker, the Bose SoundLink Mini II, and offers broadly comparable sound quality, but it has a much more relaxed, friendly vibe to it, and being bigger you're not likely to lose it. It's by no means ungainly. And it looks so nice....The controls are simple and intuitive: on/off, Bluetooth pairing and volume. There's an Aux In 3.5mm jack on the back if you prefer not to use Bluetooth, together with a non-USB charging port (15 V, 1.5 Amp) for charging the internal battery (which lasts for about six hours of use) and a USB port for charging a phone from the internal battery. There's an LED on the back that glows red while charging, and an LED on the top that's blue when using Bluetooth, and red if it's not paired or if you're using the Aux In jack. Bluetooth pairing is easy - just hold the button down for a couple of seconds and the speaker becomes discoverable. It makes funny blooping noises when it turns on or off and when it pairs. Incidentally, it automatically powers-down it it hasn't played any music for a while - this saves power. But the unexpected "bloop" noise can be a bit startling. There's no protection for the recessed plastic mid/bass speakers, so you need to be careful, but the tiny tweeter cones have a rigid plastic bar over them. the speaker is quite heavy, and there's no easy way to carry it. I find myself using the bass reflex port on the back as a carrying point - I don't think that does any harm.I've seen that other users have complained of a buzzing noise. I can't hear one at all: the sound sounds really good. It sounds particularly good out-of-doors - it's the sort of speaker you want when you're hosting a barbecue, or just sitting out in the sun with a glass of something palatable.

What a great speaker! I was pleasantly surprised by this as I wasn't expecting much having tried a range of bluetooth speakers over the years. I currently use a Sonos which is excellent and I haven't found anything of a similar size and price that compares.Firstly, I will admit that the speaker was bigger than I was expecting. Most bluetooth speakers that I've had in the past have been small and pocketable to some degree, some have been large enough to sit on my desk but this is probably the largest one that I've tried to date. Whilst this speaker is portable I suspect that it would be more suitable living in a fixed location at home, mainly due to its size.Connection is via bluetooth so works with any modern device whether it's a phone or tablet and is simple enough to pair. It includes a built-in rechargeable battery which should get you around 10 hours of use according to the manufacturer. I've been using it for around 2-3 hours a day and can easily get a good five days out of it before it needs recharging. Obviously using it for longer periods will result in more frequent recharging.Sound wise it is really good, not quite on par with the Sonos that I have but it's close. The sound is well rounded, undistorted and loud when you want it to be. I've tried a variety of different types of music and it seems to be great at playing all of them, I tend to have trouble with some speakers being too bass heavy and not suitable for particular types of music. This seems to handle them all with ease which is something I always look for in a speaker, nothing worse than having one type of music play really well then you change to something else and it seems muffled and overpowered by the bass. The speaker unit itself is well designed and looks the part with the bamboo wood front and the black cloth top which contains the controls for the speaker. Nothing too complicated just power, bluetooth and volume controls. It looks slightly out of place in my room due to having a white setup at the moment, but if and when I switch to black it should look very nice indeed.Overall a great speaker if you're looking for something that packs a punch and you want something to fill the room. It can be easily moved so if you need to move it from one room to another you can do without any trouble. It looks the part and for the size, build quality and sound it matches up to its price point.

House of Marley have been around for a good few years now and are recognisable for their wooden Pine effect product design, even house of Marley headphones also have the Pine effect and this effect gives the House of Marley products a uniqueness and deservedly makes them stand out from the crowd.MP3 speakers these days are slowly taking over from the traditional Hifi's as these music centres are becoming a thing of the past. All you need these days to listen to your favourite songs is a smart phone or similar device and a speaker such as this and you are good to go.The more money you pay the better sound you will purchase, and you could a lot worse than purchase this House of Marley speaker named Get Together. The rechargeable battery lasts for hours and hours and is easily recharged with the supplied mains adaptor that comes with a range of changeable international sockets.Linking the speaker to your smart device couldn't be easier. Simply touch the Bluetooth option and scan for the speaker and pair, that's all there is to it!!! You can then start listening to your favourite tunes via which ever app you prefer, I personally like using the online radio stations via my online internet radio app. But I also like running through my favourite albums on shuffle mode. The speaker also has an aux input socket allowing you to connect the speaker to just about anything.Bluetooth speakers have a fractional delay between device and speaker. Not an issue when listening to music obviously but it is noticeable when watching videos. I have used numerous Bluetooth speakers and headsets, and none of have managed to reduce the delay to almost nothing, until now. Another thumbs up for this impressive speaker. The sound of the speaker is what really impressed me though. I had it connected and started cranking the volume up to see how high it could go, suffice to say it didn't take long before the walls of my house started shaking and I didn't want to upset my neighbours so I thought it best to turn it down. But I felt I had still quite a way to go before even coming close to maxing out the volume. I also note that the bass volume its just about perfect. All in all its very difficult to fault this speaker, and its certainly the best MP3 speaker I have ever sampled.

This unit was my first taste of a 'House of Marley' product... and I am very impressed.Sound: 9/10, the sound is really excellent, just how I like it, nice controlled bass, even at volume, lovely clear mids and highs. So why 9/10? because if you position it near a wall, or on a shelf unit with sides, I found the bass became a little booming; not horribly so, but more bassy than I like. Standing the unit on a solid surface in the open, the sound was stunning. I used the 'Treble Booster' EQ setting on my iPhone which helped reduce boominess, more so than the 'Bass Reducer' setting. The volume could go way beyond where I would need, and the sound filled the room.Build Quality: 10/10,the unit is really nicely made, and is surprisingly heavy for it's size, which can only be a good thing. The real bamboo finish is very well done, and very modern looking. The whole thing has a feeling of being solidly built. It's larger in reality than it looks in the picture and than I was expecting, so check the dimensions before buying (8.3 x 40 x 12.7 cm).Connectivity: 10/10, simple Bluetooth connection that worked first time, no drop outs, and a good range using iPhone. Didn't require any updates or apps to get connected. There is an aux. in 3.5mm jack also.Practicality: 9/10, it has an internal battery, quoted time being 10hrs, which I can't confirm yet. A nice touch is a USB port, which will charge devices plugged into it. My reason for 9/10 is the unprotected main speaker cones... whilst the styling is nice, they could be easily damaged with kids about, or even just in a careless moment. Subtle charging and connected LED's help you know what's going on, there is also 'spoken feedback' from the unit. It comes with a 'mobile phone' type charger, which has exchangeable attachments for different plug types, which might be useful to some. No transport case is included.I totally recommend this unit, very impressive.

Apologies for the dad joke. Let's get to it. This speaker is awesome. It's big, it's chunky, pleasing to the touch and the sound is great. The whole thing is made of green stuff, bamboo, hemp, recycled hippies etc. This is all well and good but ultimately it's a speaker with a lithium ion battery inside, it's eco friendliness is halted rapidly there. That said it's really nice to look at and touch.Sound wise, I have a Bose sound link mini which is amazing for the size, however this is just better in every way. Much louder, better bass.It has a really good battery life, you really shouldn't be able to run a speaker like this on batteries, but it powers on for over 10 hours.Bluetooth link worked great with various phones but struggled a bit with my echo dot, but I've not been bowled over by the echo so I blame that. Aux input also works well and comes in handy for plugging into your TV to give a cheeky cinema feel. One downside, the fabric is totally going to get dirty, dust, food, grass, it's all going to get stuck in there and bug me, but then it's going to be a unique diary of the places I've taken it and the memories it has helped create.

I decided it was time I got "with" the age of digital music and stopped faffing about with CDs and used the bluetooth (and apps like Amazon Music) on my phone to listen to music. The first bluetooth speaker I purchased (not from Amazon) was a cheap affair and sounded like it. It was almost enough to put me off, but when I saw this I thought I would give it another go.I'm not going to comment too much on the materials used as they are given enough coverage in the product details above, all I will say is that it feels like a good, solid and sturdy product and that's what counts to me. What's really important though is the sound quality and that is fantastic!Battery life seems pretty decent andit should be noted that you can also play music by plugging a cable from the headphone socket of your phone to the speakers instead of using bluetooth. Ideal if you want to save a bit of battery on either device, or for things like an iPod. There is a USB port but it should be noted it is just for charging rather than for playing MP3 files from a USB stick, which is slightly disappointing.

Great speaker, I was looking for a decent Bluetooth speaker that looked a little more neutral as I wasn't going to take it anywhere outside, it's being used completely stationary in our bedroom.I use it purely for playing white noise and relaxation sounds to block out neighbors sounds in the evening, and for that it does the job just fine.I've seen other reviews mention it going on standby on certain volumes and such and I pleased to say that I have no such issues whatsoever. It's being used at a fairly low volume in the bedroom on a daily basis and never shuts off unless you tell it to.So all in all happy with the purchase for the purpose that I personally use it for.

The most expensive wireless speaker I have purchased to date... but well worth the money! The sound fills the room and with a bold presence at higher volumes without any distortion. The sound is rich and well balanced and it brings out the nuances of all music I’ve played through it so far. Details that I only normally hear clearly through earphones are faithfully reproduced by this marvellous speaker. It is well made and feels substantial, like it’s going to last. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend the product.

I purchased this from Costco and was tempted by the Bose mini 2 but that was base heavy in my mind.I have this connected to my computer via the Aux port and leave it plugged into the mains. Sound quality is really good and I can hear the vocals really well with just the right amount of base. I have also used this via my Iphone X and again it sounds really good. If you do want to use it via bluetooth make sure to disconnect the Aux cable.

Great piece of kit. It does however sound 5/5 if you add some speaker shoe spikes to it (see image)So easy to use, no setup apart from a single button press on the unit. Rest is done with your phone / device. Not even made it to full volume it's that good.Looks the business, only snag is mine came with a line in the material (see image)

I was a bit sceptical of the claim that it would fill any room with sound but I was wrong. It has a good, rich sound with little or no vibration when on higher volumes. Easy to pair with bluetooth devices. Looks really nice too. Great value if you're not looking for the ultimate in sound quality.

This is a great sound system. I think it looks great and also is quite original. But most importantly it sounds awesome!!! I'm a student and now my flat mates and I can finally blast our house music and reggae loud :D No problems with this system what so ever until now, Will update if necessary.

I have had one of these for a while now and I bought it as I had heard it at a local HMV. I has never had a fuzzy sound like another reviewer stated. It is crisp and clear and simply a quality piece of kit. I work in the Music industry every day and I love the thing!

28.5.2017

wow, this is smaller, feels better built and blows away similar size bose sony and panasonic units of the same size and power, plus its eco friendly!battery lasts for 5-6 days to with at least 4-5 hours loud listening per dayI love it

Was tied between getting a bose or house of marley speaker. After hearing my friend’s bose speaker, i can say in my opinion the get together may have even better sound quality, looks amazing, and is over £100 cheaper, can’t fault it!
