A flawed sequel.The Good:- Huge selection of courses, Course maker is better then ever.The Bad:- Very slow loading, poor career mode, some odd bugs. No major improvements on the first game.The first Golf Club for the Xbox One is not only one of my favourite games it is also my third most played behind Fallout 4 and Skyrim respectfully.However, while this game is just as good as the previous entry in most areas it does have some missed opportunities and a few bugs that need addressing.First, the biggest problem this game has is loading. Much like the first game the main reason for this is because it’s always on-line for the purposes of accessing the huge database of courses.Sometimes it can be ten seconds to load other times I’ve waited up to a minute.The course designer is back and better then ever. They have revamped the look and layout of the system that I’ll admit at first is a little confusing but is for the better. You can now add tournament style layouts with crowds and seating for them placed around the courses. 3D buildings such as tower blocks and offices have been added as well as multiple level water and water features like waterfalls and rivers. I think around 90% of my playtime as been in the course creator!However for me the biggest disappointment is the career mode. When it was announced I thought it would be like a journey or maybe even a story style mode where you would start off as a novice and slowly build your way up to the top. However it is not like that at all. While you can upgrade your clubhouse it is a glorified round selector. You add a number of courses and how many rounds and then play. There is no real progression and seasons like you would find in the classic Tiger Woods games. This is easily the biggest missed opportunity for the game and something I really hope is fixed in the future.The same can also be said for Societies. This is where you join a club and play tournaments the club hosts. Again, you never feel like you are moving forward or even part of a club in anyway and it just seems like a renaming of the old Tournament mode.The golf swings have been improved with chipping around the green working better than it did in the previous game. However, I have noticed two strange things. The first is sometimes when Driving the ball it will hook very badly despite the swing indicator showing the ball going straight. The second is when putting the ball it seems that it doesn’t always follow the gradient of the green. For example, one time the lines were showing the green fading the left yet the ball went the other way. This has only happened a couple of times but it can ruin a good birdie chance.My review does come across as negative but that’s more because this game could have been so much more and that really disappoints me. It is a great golf game but not the huge leap forward it could have been.So would I recommend this game? If you are a fan of the first then you will like this one just as much despite the lack of major improvements. If you are on the fence then it depends on how much you like both golf and simulators style games. The benefit of this game is that the patch has made it easier to use the longer clubs without huge skewing of shots. The game is easy to play but tricky to master so you will not be frustrated by a long process of learning before a level of mastery. Any golf fan will love it, particularly the online element where a huge community of course designers have developed what appears to be unlimited different courses to play on. It is easy to add ghost players whose shots are shown as lines to guide you or add friends to play either at the same time or in turn. As I said, any golf fan will enjoy this game for years.

My wife and I, were looking for something to entertain us in the coming winter. Although there are more programmes on TV than we could ever have imagined, to us, they are almost all terrible. We remembered playing a golf game on our PC many, many years ago. This game is nothing like it! It is stunning, so realistic it is almost like watching a documentary. We could also make ourselves look young again. Be warned, it is not a "click when the pointer reaches the mark", it is not easy. This gives it a realism that makes you feel that you are there. It is even a pleasure to look at the views. Amazing!

I've played most golf games over the last 15 years, the notable exception being the original golf club. However, I've picked this up, and while it's difficult, it's the nearest to a golf simulation as I've come across for a long time. The graphics could be better, but the built in courses look great, and the challenge causes the same frustration as real golf ! The societies look interesting and certainly something I'll engage with, the games just needs a few months to settle and sort out any glitches, but as a golf simulation I'm loving it. Keep up the good work HB Studios

I have always been a fan of golf games, tiger woods etc but they are too easy, with you swing with the analogue sticks with marker lines to know exactly where you ball is going is way too easy. This however is a golf sim and is very hard to master, you can't just pull back and forward on the stick to drive perfectly straight, putting is even more difficult. Very enjoyable yet frustrating just like the real game in away. If you want to be hitting birdies and eagles straight away this is not the game for you.

When I received this game to start with I thought it was rather poor. The main problem is getting used to the putting. You can be a couple of feet from the hole, take the putt and the ball misses the hole and rolls off the green. Also when pitching on to the green it can land close to the pin and before you know it it rolls off the green. After a lot of practice I have got used to it and can turn in a reasonable score. Graphics are excellent.

Excellent. Not sure why this has mixed reviews. Is a terrific game - the graphics are beautiful. The gameplay is very good, it takes time to be good especially at the putting which is hard at first ( but it's not easy when playing real golf) .I l9ve the ability to download up to 3 ghosts to play against.Highly recommended by me!

It's on my game pass section and you still get that speaking guy in this game tooNah I love all golf games even making a course yourself adds depthI'm trying to figure out how to play this online with my mate instead you get a ghost player on his her stage only thing I'm looking at is you take it in turns on one screen

Game is fun and pretty easy to learn not much to do with the real game as far as players or courses but in spite of that it is one of the best for if you hit it wrong you suffer and if you hit it right it is good so pretty honest game and fun to play.
