I downloaded this game ages ago, and in truth im only writing this to bump up its low score that i noticed while flicking through games.There are some great new characters, new ingredients and new weapons (i think) -= it has been a whileThe whole plot is based around choosing a path and so effectively this game can be played twice with slightly different results. - Advise saving first then!For the people that wrote the 1 star reviews.. i seem to remember having a similar problem, and i found the solution was to wait (waiting as in pressing the back button - or whatever button wait was!) and wait 24 hours or summin, you should then get a message pop up saying something about it.

I loved this expansion - it's a little dark and quite weird but I enjoyed completing it. I won't however re-play when I make new characters as I found it got really annoying if I did the new quests again. Strange really as Oblivion is one of the few games I can re-play over and over.Just to get something clear you have to either play the game for 24 hours, (in game time), or "wait" for 24 hours before the new content will be there - same as if you downloaded it from Xbox Live. I expect this is why many people have had problems with the game and believe that it doesn't work.Installing only takes a couple of minutes and you can carry on playing with your current charaters.The new ingriedients,

The game is....fantastic, this expansion pack adds to it! :DAlso includes Knights of the Nine.HOW TO USE THIS PACK;First off, install it from the disk, you'll need just a little over 1 GB of space on your harddrive (if you install both Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles). This WILL fail if you have never connected your Xbox to Xbox Live! as the game requires an update to use the new content (which is diffrent from the patch it applies on the disk)If successful, wait between 12 hours and three days (game time) for you to recive a quest about a strange door...(shivering isles)For Knights of the Nine, speak to an NPC around Anvil, a prophet will be one of the dialoug choices,

I had difficulty with this like a lot of people. I didnt have the 1.2 update and so it wouldnt work. There are two ways to fix this - contact microsoft asking for the update on a cd or to connect to live. i learnt that it was free to connect to live so if you have broadband you may as well. Once i finally got going the game was great. Knights of 9 was quite short but you get good stuff out of it and the isles are really good and quite funny since everyone there is insane. You apparently get 30 hours of game in this and a lot of games can only manage about 15 so its definitely worth it. Four stars is just because it took a while to sort it all out.

This expansion pack takes you into the world of Shivering Isle which is a great way of extending your playing time on Oblivion.The main storyline took me an additional 10 hours to complete using my character which completed the main quests on Oblivion.Whilst carrying on from Oblivion some of the quests offer unique and different challenges compared to the main game, and also offers different weapons, equipment and side quests for you to complete.I would highly recommend this to someone who has enjoyed and/or completed Oblivion, as it will tone your fighting skills ready for Skyrim being released.

Like everyone else who has bought this title, I am not connected to Xbox Live. However, I have found no problems with the software, which actually installed the required update from the disc prior to starting the content installation. All I had to do then was swap to the main Oblivion disc, and started a new game as normal. In fact, this is maybe the fifth title which has updated my console before starting, so it was not something I have never seen before. And before anyone questions it, no, I have never had my console or hard drive connected to either Live or the internet....

I had exactly the same problem, It depends how old your console and oblivion game disc are. Unfortunately, if you have an older copy/console the only way around it is to hook up your console to xbox live and insert the oblivion disc. Your console will then automatically apply the updates needed to activate the content. My copy now works perfectly. You do not need to have the console connected to xbox live permanently, only long enough to apply the required updates,so perhaps a mates connection could be utilised if you are not online yourself.

This adds alot of good quests and characters. This game can still last forever and a day, endless possiblities for those with an imagination or people that enjoy the game.Shivering isles adds more darker places and at times reminds me of Morrowind. It's alot of fun and a must for anyone that has and enjoyed Oblivion.The knights of the nine content on the disk is also excellent it's not incredibly long but still fun to complete.To be honest this 'expansion pack' is a full game in itself with the amount of missions and new items etc.

right, your probably wondering why i rated this game 5stars and told you not to but it. but this is the reason why:this is a great game BUT i highly recommend buying the game of the year version instead of this version, as the game of the year includes more things including knights of the nine, and all for roughly the same price.dont get me wrong this is a FABULOUS game, but buy the game of the year edition you will be highly pleased. just from friendly advice :).

This is a fantastic game which adds alot more content on to a already amazing game. But it doesent have half the content than the origional game. Agaist some games it could be a game in itself and with the knights of the nine bundled in with this game it is very fun to play. At the moment I have spent 90 hours on all three games but I still know that I have at least 40 more hours of gameplay to go. An exellent buy.

The game is very good, at least as good as the rest of Oblivion... For more details read other reviews. To those people who are put off by the negative reviews - remember that you don't need an xBox Live subscription or anything, just a connection to broadband internet. I'm guessing if you have a 360 you will have that, too...

This is actually better than Oblivion, which you need to play this, obviously. Great addition to the game. Very morrowind I think. Much better than the entirety of Skyrim IMO.

Oblivion exceeded all my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone, particularly if they have any more of the series
