If you want to lose weight, then look no further and buy this game. This game will allow you to workout at light, moderate, challenging, hard or extreme intensities at regular intervals during the week for a number of weeks based on the programme you choose. The intensity, muscle focus, duration and frequency is entirely up to you. For example, you can choose to work your core, arms, chest, etc. or full body. The only downside (which isn't really a downside of the game itself), is the fact that the game relies on your xbox 360 date and time to draw a timeline of your progress/workout schedule. But as the xbox 360 does not have an internal battery for time keeping, the date resets every time you unplug your console thereby disrupting the date keeping of the game. However, I believe you can overcome this by keeping your xbox always plugged in or by logging onto xbox live. Either way, this date keeping problem isn't an issue for me as you can always go to the additional exercises option each day and do a routine of your choice for a duration of your choice. I'd say that the lack of date keeping only means that you won't be able to see a graph of your calories burnt against day graph or compare daily progress. But hey who cares. That can be done with a weighing scale and a pen and paper anyway.Read lots of reviews criticising the user interface. Having used the game for about a week, I'd say that I've gotten used to it. Its true that holding your hand in place for 1-2s causes you to choose the option and the tiny glowing cursor is rather unusual, but after navigating the menus a couple of times, it would feel just as effective as other kinect games interfaces if not slightly less efficient. But by no means does this spoil the game in my opinion.Having tried this and Your shape: Fitness evolved 2012 (although I haven't spent too long on the latter yet), I'd say that they are both great games which although seem to be for the same thing, are actually aimed at different goals: if you want to lose weight or get thin, then biggest loser does that a lot better than your shape as it allows you to continuously work out for a duration of your choosing unlike Your Shape 2012 which doesn't seem to have an easy way to ask for a full workout (it has a series of different exercises which you need to choose manually after you complete each one. Although Your Shape 2012 does recommend a list of exercises for your chosen goal, I think it is up to you to choose them one by one which may cause you to cool down or stop after a given exercise). Biggest Loser makes you push yourself whilst Your Shape 2012 seems to give you more choice. However, if you want a multiplayer workout type game to challenge your friends with a vast tonne of workout games and exercises or if you want to learn a wide variety of fitness activities like yoga, zen, dancing etc. then Your Shape 2012 may be more of what you're looking for.The body tracking of the game works well to a great extent as long as you do the exercises correctly. Floor tracking is quite good as well. In fact, its the good tracking that keeps you pushing harder. The game also allows you to use voice commands during exercises to monitor how you're feeling and adjust the workout accordingly. I found that trying to speak extra clearly doesn't work, but if you just speak normally, it detects your choices just fine. All in all, the Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout is exactly what the title says it is. It is the ultimate workout and it will make you lose weight if you stick to it regularly. It is just as good (may be even better) than going to a gym to lose weight with a trainer by your side. (Building muscle is a different story which can probably be done better in Your Shape 2012 which has strength training if you own dumb bells, albeit still probably not as good as lifting in a gym).

As someone who tried Your Shape Fitness Evolved and just could not get going with it, this came as a nice surprise. Set up a four, eight or twelve week programme and pick a level from Light to as hard as you want. I started on the lightest routines for the first couple of weeks as I did not want to kill myself trying to lose weight.11 weeks into a 12 week programme and I am on Challenging, doing 40/50 minutes a day and have probably lost a good stone in weight that is most definately off. You need to put a little in yourself and eat better, try to commit the time each day, but despite all it's very major faults and annoyances, this 'game' works. It will get you started.I could fill pages with the annoyances. Many have already said that it sometimes will not track you. I've found it pretty good for most routines but it seems to fail me most on the weekly Challenges - you do a fitness routine four to six days a week and on the seventh you do a 'Challenge' and the Weigh In. The Challenge is no more than an on screen game that you effect by doing a couple of routines to make your character move. Week in week out it fails me.The game can be too picky in getting you to do a routine right. Do a simple Quad stretch where you lift a leg by the ankle and hold an arm out and you get 'Raise Arm' as the instruction. You do, trying to balance and hold the position and you get 'Lower Arm' so you put the arm back to where it was to start. Then it'll say 'Lower Arm' and you just wonder WHAT it is trying to do as you almost fall over.It will ask you questions mid routine to see how you are coping, forgetting it has you twisted away so you can't read the screen. You shout a response and most times it can't work out what you are saying anyway. The queries will come up at the worst time. There appears to have been NO play testing at all. It'll ask you if you want a water break just before.........a water break. You'll get the trainer saying the SAME thing OVER and OVER. Again simple play testing would have picked that out. The trainer also will say 'Right now step to the left' but he means HIS left if you want to stay in time you go to YOUR right. Finally the niggles will drive you barmy, but what keeps you going is the difference on the scales. There is a Body Analyser that frankly is a bit hit and miss and a Video Diary when both would have been better served by a simple ability to take a photo of yourself to compare your results. Again simple play testing would have helped make sure they work. And what is it with Tyre Jumps? Some routines are packed with them. And even picking a 'Core' routine seems to target legs and chest more than tummy. So you will see the weight go but the toning is going to be much longer term.On Challenge days when there is less to do I have been cheating with Mel C, which is a much better training programme, but this is the one that will get you started. At the end of twelve weeks I might, just might, throw it out of the window and move on. But I cannot lay down the simple fact that if you can stick with it, it will get you up, get your weight down and get you on the road to being better and fitter. Just do not expect to like it.

I've been playing TBL for around 8 weeks, and I still LOVE IT!You can either choose freeplay exercises, or sign yourself up to a 4 week, 8 week or 12 week program that targets a specific area of your body. You can pick which area if you want, or you can have Kinect analyse your figure and recommend one.The game then asks you how often you want to exercise (minimum 2 sessions a week), for how long, and on what difficulty. I'm a regular gym goer and consider myself pretty fit, so "challenging" was fine for me. You can also alter these settings each week, so if you find the exercises are getting too easy, you can up your difficulty level.TBL then sets you a schedule with a mix of boxercise, yoga, toning and cardio (there's also a pilates add-on you can download for a cost.) Each exercise lasts between 10 - 30 seconds, before moving onto the next. So in a 30 min session, you could do approx 15 exercises. It really pushes me. There's also a food diary you can keep, and you can add in your calorie burn from exercises outside of TBL, and choose additional TBL exercises if you want more sessions than what you originally set.Every week you have a "weigh in" against your fellow virtual "contestants" (although you're not actually weighed - unlike the wii board) and set a mini challenge/mini game. But really, as far as I'm aware you can't be voted off, unlike what happens in the TV show. It's worth mentioning that, for me at least, TBL occasionally struggles to track some exercises. However, it doesn't stop the game or halt your progress, and as each exercise only lasts a short period of time, you'll quickly move onto another one that DOES track you. Because your form is constantly being tracked, it means it's hard for you to develop an incorrect form or posture (your silouhette will turn red if you're doing something wrong/can't be tracked), and the trainer will shout out advice if he/she sees you're struggling. The interface is also RUBBISH, and is the one big weakness, in my opinion. Descriptions don't match the manual, and routines are often buried in sub menus. However, once you learn to find your way, TBL is a great fitness game, with a wide variety of workouts, customisable options, and really challenges even a regular gym-goer. Surprisingly excellent.

Of the 4 early released fitness games for the Kinect, this is the one you need if you are starting at the UNFIT level. It's gentle, it checks your progress (you have a choice of 3 phrases to speak to tell it how puffed you are), it emphasises warming up, drinking water and not making over wild movements to stress your joints. Plus it has eating hints if you want to take that route. On the other hand the menus are a little fluttery, with a strange tinkerbell trail of light following your hand position and it relies on far too many icons to navigate (it's a bit irritating just trying to work out how to start the routine initially). In the early stages (as far as I've got)it just relies on a trainer telling you to perform the motions, WITHOUT a "music" background (typically other kinect titles have cheap techno). You edit your own in-game avatar if you wish from the generic chubby one donated to you. In the corner is your small blobby heat image from the kinect camera which goes green if you are doing the right moves.I'm only in the early stages, having previously used Your Shape fitness evolved, which is more reliant on insisting you do high impact exercises exactly to the beat. I think the two will work ideally to compliment each other and provide a bit of variety (and a little time to catch my breath!). Mel B's version I found too much like a port of a fitness video, without much use of the kinect's features. EA sports active seems to be unrentable because of the need to use the heart monitor (which also initially made the price of the game double that of a normal title).

Got this for my partners birthday present and its great.I have been using it myself and the workouts are quite varied and definatley get a sweat going when you do them. The fitness test when you first do the game will give you a recommendation for the difficulty of your workout (it was nice enough to give me challenging) though you can change this setting before you accept it. You can set the length of your workouts from around 10 minutes up to over an hour and pic which trainer you want to have. You can tailor your program by telling it your goal (e.g wieight loss) and the areas you want to work most. You can do freeplay sessions where you set the time and intensity before each (as well as all the other options)and then chose your workout type (or build and save your own) or you can choose a 4, 8 or 12 week fitness program telling it how many times a week you wish to exercise for. I am doing a 12 week program and at the end of each week is a challenge and a weigh in to track your weight loss journey. The biggest loser style fluff (challenges and weigh ins) are ok and add to the feel of it all but the workouts are what this game lives and dies by and personally I think they are a strong point for the game. The only downside is that if you have a smaller area to play in the kinect can have trouble tracking you correctly on some exercise but I havent found this to be a huge issue myself

I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's a pretty solid game. It scans you're measurements, you input your age and weight, it tests your initial ability, and the game suggests a level of difficulty and areas to focus on. It's quite clever really! The exercises work on the whole great, but I had a few issues with the trainer telling me to stop having a break when I was actually on my feet doing the exercise, which I thought it should have known since my body movements appear on screen. On a less important note, the voices get annoying really quickly. Especially when they repeat "You got it, great!" five times in a row, I will need to figure out how to turn them off. Also the menu navigation is generally OK,but when it asks you to create a character to represent you, it takes a while using your hand. It gave me a starting point to work from; a morbidly obese Mexican looking chap, so needless to say I spent while changing him to fit my appearance.Anyway, the actual logistics behind the game are great; you set a goal, and select how many days a week and for how many minutes you want to work out. Simple as that. For the price, it is definitely worth doing, and will easily get you out of breath!

I have been following the programme now for four weeks, and have lost 4kg (about 8 pounds), my husband has noticed more definition and tone on my legs, thighs and butt. The programme sets goals for me based on my fitness test and the calibration of my body, and I am endeavouring to rise to the challenge. It isn't easy, so start at a pace and level you can cope with, but one that still challenges you and work your way up.I started doing 20 minute workouts, three times a week - moderate level, for the first two weeks and I now do 30 minute workouts, four times a week - challenging level.I love this and unlike DVDs, the workouts are varied so I don't get bored and I don't have to buy loads of DVDs to keep me interested/motivated.I have an option of saving workouts I like, which I can make my go to workout, if I am not sure I like the workout Bob, (he's the trainer I have chosen to work with, although I have nothing against Jillian!), has set for me - you have the option to preview the workout chosen for the day before you start. This works!

Been working out on this game for about a week now and I love it.Had previously been using your shape for the wii but god this is so much better. at least it tells you what you are doing wrong. I agree with previous reviewers about the menus been annoying.if you hover over an icon for more than a second it loads them up and it took ages to get my settings right. i dont think the measurements are very accurate either as it told me i was 5'3 and im actually 5'8.it also said my waist was 33 inches but its actually 29 ..however you can manually adjust these so no big deal.I have been doing a full body work out...20 mins moderate 3 times a week. I usually do a few extra excercises or a challange when im finished.I like the way bob keeps you motivated and you can break for water if you want to.only issue is-the gym ball excercises are very hard and i havent found any excercises i can use with weights..despite it saying so on the box.

Great game. I am into week 5 of full body workout and lost 9lbs doing 4 20min moderate sessions a week. The reasons I like are I don't get bored and can fit it into my day. The game itself is fairly easy to follow and the exercises are great for toning, I'm in two belt holes already!!Minor downsides is can be a little fiddly to get started, easier each time you use. Be good to change days of activities ie it determines your 4 days a week for example. Would be good if it could list equipment needed before you start as I have added the recommended equipment to my routines ie resistance bands and stability ball. All in all though I'm five weeks in and not bored.I use both instructors for the routines and like the mix of activities. Hope they bring out another one in the future minus the wee glitches otherwise would be a 5 star from me. I rate this better than the Zumba workout for building up a sweat!

This game worked well for my console, pretty much straight from the off.I didnt give it five stars because it sometimes does not respond to my hand movement, and i have other kinect games which are quite responsive, so i know it could be that this game may need some updates to respond better; i have to say i have not yet connected my xbox to the internet, so i cannot say if updates exist for this game. The on-game trainers are almost as encouraging as they are on the show and i also like how this game takes a (i suppose it could be called) 3D image of your body and also takes other vital statistics to setup a wourkout plan, for as long a term as i desired, which i have set for 3months.I did the first workout for 40mins and it did its job, getting my heart pumping and a some sweat on my face. All in all, i am happy with my purchase.

I've been playing it daily for about 10 weeks now and feel better for it.Likes:* Gets you moving* The exercises are varied and tailored (box-fit, yoga, circuit, etc - lots of stuff in there I wouldn't normally do)* The exercise program can be altered at any time* Good value overallDislikes:* Speech recognition is poor (I'd rather it was just off altogether)* Exercise tracking occasionally fails to see you properly (you do get used to what it's looking for the more you use it though)* Speech is annoying sometimes, repeats the same thing several times in succession* Lifestyle tasks don't suit the program (e.g. you can have a daily program with a week-long lifestyle task,so that has to somehow be completed the next day) - but they can be disabled anyway.* I can't bend as much as they can:)

I won't go into the technicalities of this game, earlier reviews have covered this far better than I.Bottom line, does it work? For me, a resounding yes! I've had this game for 8 weeks, started out with easy exercise routines & gradually worked up to Challenging routines, 5 times a week, 50 minutes per session. Result? I've lost 25 pounds in this time! Like everything in life, it will only work if you stick with it. Also you probably wont lose weight without eating more healthily at the same time.So my advice, for what it's worth, is give it a go. It is relatively cheap for these sort of games. Perhaps keep it a secret from your work colleagues. The women at work are beyond jealous at my weight loss as they continue to count the calories & eat their rabbit food. Great fun!

highly recomend, sometimes it does not pick up my movements but I carry on anyway, its a good way to keep exercising regularly, get encouragement and see achievements - my xbox kinect was an investment to replace gym membership. I have MS and although my mobility has greatly reduced since 2012 I am able to taylor my exercise to my abilities and the more I exercise the more improvement I see in my mobility, its great that I can pause the exercise to work around my chronic fatigue or do the fitness test and work on my building my strength and muscles whilst seeing weight loss at my own pace. I also use the YourShape fitness evolved 2012 to work on different exercises during the week and keep itfun

I brought this not really expecting much, i love the show and the basic idea of exercising and tracking your progress as you go. The game itself is easy to set up even with the kinnect hand movments it wont take you long. You can set yourself 4,8 or 12 week exercises plan ( i did the 12 like the show ) and the actual routines are easy to customise and if you do well your be told to upgrade your level. Voices can be a bit repetative after several times of using but they are mainly telling you to speed up, get lower etc so they have a purposeIf you looking to lose some weight and have a kinnect i cant recommend this enouth, at last a xbox game that wont make you fat!5 stars to the biggest lose

I bought this 'game' along with EA Sports Active and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. The Biggest Loser was fun to use and reminiscent of the US game show. It was a bit off-putting that one's character/avatar had to look fat and there were frustrations in the controls and inputting the profile. In addition to the usual exercises, there is some yoga plus there are the challenges as per the TV game show. I found it entertaining and one could get into it. However, in the end I tended to use YS:FE the most, especially when the 2012 edition came out. The Biggest Loser remains on the shelf mostly, coming out occassionally when I want a change.
