I bought one of these way back in 1982 and did not realise that by now they have acquired a cachet and are now sought after. It is not hard to see why, as they combine great retro looks with modern features to produce a classic. Moreover, they are dry barometers and there is therefore no risk from mercury as it is not incorporated in their construction.If you want to indulge yourself in these recessionary times with their cold winters and soggy summers, you may as well enjoy looking at the messenger who is bringing you the gloomy climactic news. Recommended!

I say ‘object’ and I’m still getting a handle on whether or not it ‘works’, or at least if it is in any way accurate. Looking and checking online to see makes me wonder why we would need this product aside from its decorative or novelty value. Instructions are not great - a little bring list in translation perhaps but a diagram showing the relevant screw(s) that need adjusting would be no harm. I live in a country that has all four seasons on most days so...Anyway. Looks nice and interesting. Not cheap (cost or looks) but hopefully it can be useful too.

This was a present and it went down well. Perhaps a little expensive for the weight/quality although it was being sold elsewhere for quite a bit more than paid.
