There are several styles of fryer made by Tefal and this is one of the few to have a riveted handle; most of them are screwed and potentially liable to loosen with repeated use as have several from a variety of 'highly recommended' brands used in the past and which ultimately led to their disposal. The "Tefal Intuition Frypan, Stainless Steel, Silver, 28 cm" has a steel base, uncoated or coloured on the base, to enable use of induction hobs. The handle is all-metal, presumably stainless steel, which allows it to be used within the oven at all temperatures. Some protection for the hand against the heat in the handle will be necessary.Another Tefal frying pan,one from their Jamie Oliver range was recently purchased in a smaller size. This shares some of its features although not most. The red spot allows judging of optimal temperature at which point the heat can be lowered from a mid-point setting used as a maximum. Whether or not oil needs be added depends upon the nature of the contents; foods that create their own fat probably will require little or none while others will need some, possibly with a little butter. The interior non-stick coating is an improvement upon older types as found in the previous Tefal frying pan used some time ago and lasted several years and is claimed to be more rugged. A longer period of use with this and the one purchased will be necessary to better assess the claim. Both have 5-year guarantees for the cooking surface. Internally, the cooking area is patterned outside of the central 'Tefal Red Spot' and the underside has a deeply engraved pattern within it.The pan is surprisingly heavy but easy to handle although some may prefer to use both hands when lifting it. There are also several different styles of handle used by Tefal, some straight and others with a distinct dog-leg where the outer portion is much higher than the point of attachment. This has one that is bowed slightly upwards in the middle for balance. As with the body of the pan it is all-metal, presumably also stainless steel, and therefore fully oven-safe. A glove or other such protection will be needed when handling if used that way as the handle will be extremely hot; used on the hob, it may get warm but not uncomfortable. One of the advantages of Tefal's red spot is to demonstrate that the pan is at the ideal cooking temperature when the text and pattern disappear into the background; at that point the heat can be reduced which will extend the life of the pan. The pan is practical and cooks well. It could easily cook a large breakfast for 2-3 people depending upon what is included, individual quantities and appetite or a large frittata that could feed 4-6 adults. It handles very well despite its size and weight. Pricing is reasonable and competitive as it is possible to pay considerably more for some brands.

I've had a set of Tefal pans for nearly 10 years and they were a far cheaper style than this and the saucepans have only just started to come to the end of their non stick life though the much smaller frying pan is still pristine so Tefal is certainly an affordable brand that can stand years of everyday cooking and I'm really pleased with the improvements compared to my old frying pan this has a different titanium based non stick coating that looks much stronger and the stainless steel design which means you can use for frittatas or finishing off a fried/sautéed dish etc in the oven.It has a good 'heft' to it, not necessarily heavy but robust, you don't feel you are flapping a bit of tin about when flipping or shaking the contents about, but it's still light enough for those who may struggle with a skillet. It cleans like a dream, we tried this out with a range of foods and everything just wiped away with the soft side of the sponge, no scrubbing, no wire sponges and no carbonised spots left behind. Beautiful. The red spot is technology I'm used to, it helps prolong the life of the pan and is excellent if you are like my husband who just whacks the heat up and doesn't adjust and so has burnt out a few ceramic pans this way, this is why my old Tefal frying pan has lasted as it tells him 'OK turn down the heat Now!' Which is a great feature though not necessarily essential for confident cooks.Overall, I would be seriously considering this as a contender range to replace my old set of Tefal pans, the non stick has improved and the design is sleek PLUS thus can go in the oven due to stainless steel handles. The price is a big bonus, great quality for a decent price.

The big lesson I've learned with non-stick kitchenware is to treat it well. To some degree it's not so much the quality or nature of the non-stick surface, it's whether you wash it by hand instead of sticking it in the dishwasher, it's whether you use a gentle scrubbing device and not something too harsh and abrasive. Avoid burning in any food residue.Having said all that, the titanium non-stick surface on this stainless steel frying pan is particularly successful. Aside from looking nice, it really is easy to keep clean with just a bit of washing up liquid and a brush. If you observe the red dot that is intended to show you when the pan has reached optimum cooking temperature it's likely you'll avoid burning the surface. The handle is a sturdy piece of metal riveted to the pan.Where they protrude into the working surface of the pan the rivets have been given the same non-stick surface. This is typically a hard to clean part of pans, but I have yet to suffer any food sticking to these rivets. I suspect over the lifetime of the pan that this will be the first place that the non stick surface starts to wear away, but my plan is to really care for this pan and avoid cleaning it abrasively, so I hope this isn't something I experience for at least a couple of years. The pan itself is quite hefty, being made from a substantial amount of stainless steel. This means it cooks evenly. You need some sturdy forearms if you're going to flip a pancake with it, but the non-stick surface means it doesn't grip the food, so pancakes are not an impossibility.Tefal is a French company and this frying pan is made in China. The quality of materials is exemplary.

This is a lovely pan. Lots of things I like about this pan:- The outside is highly polished stainless steel, which looks very classy. The base has a distribution pattern to help spread the heat evenly.- It has a steel handle, which means it can be put in the oven (up to 240 degrees C) should you want to finish off your cooking there. In normal use, the handle is long enough to remain cool as long as you do not have flames licking up the side of the pan directly onto it. The handle is long enough to be held in both hands, should you need the extra control- Inside is the classic Tefal non-stick with the red "thermo dot". This is important because, contrary to what many think,non-stick pans are NOT for highest temperature use. For stir-fry or tex-mex, you are better with a plain stainless steel pan. Non-stick should only be used for more delicate foods, on low to medium heat, where its non-stick features work best. All you do it heat the pan until the red dots fade into their surrounding border, and you are at the ideal maximum heat.- 28cm is the ideal size for a small family. I have a small pan when just cooking for two, or larger for a dinner party. But this is perfect for 4 chops, small steaks, burgers, etc., without food getting bunched up in the pan.- After use, it comes clean after a short soak and a wipe.- I used it on gas, but it is suitable for all types of hob, including induction, so this is a pan for life no matter what hob I choose in future. It does not come with a lid, but being a standard size, I have 28cm lids from other pans/casseroles, which fit it perfectly if needed.

This is an impressive frying pan from Tefal - the first time I've tried a pan from this brand. The pan itself is big and fairly heavy. The base is a good thickness of metal, and gives it a fair degree of heft. My Mum, who has arthritis in her hands, found this a bit too heavy. The handle is stainless steel and affixed with rivets rather than screws. My other frying/sauteing/griddle pans have their handles attached with screws and regularly need to be retightened, so I'm hoping that this will not be necessary with this pan. The all-metal construction means that this is one of Tefal's oven-safe models (up to 260 degrees C for an hour): good news for us, as a family favourite lunch is Spanish omelette. The pan is suitable for use on an induction hob, as well as with other technologies. In common with many other non-stick pans, this is not really recommended for use in the dishwasher. The best way to preserve the non-stick surface is to hand wash using a sponge. Although the pan is non-stick, it is recommended to wipe over the inside with oil before first use. On my slow, traditional halogen hob, even with its induction heating base, this frying pan does take a fair amount of time to heat up - but once it has warmed up properly (the thermo-spot is brilliant!), the heat is distributed very evenly, giving good, even cooking results. Fantastic!

I picked this up because my old frying pan was just about ready to go to the great pannery in the sky and Tefal has always had a good reputation. This is a 28cm diameter stainless steel non-stick frying pan so a perfect size for a fry up for one person - capable of taking a couple of sausages, rashers of bacon and eggs in a single serving. It has a red circle in the middle of it which disappears when the pan reaches the right temperature, which I found very nifty. The pan can be used on all heat types and I had no issues with it on my induction hob. It's quite heavy but I found that reassuring, especially as the handle is riveted on,which makes it feel very secure and Tefal provides a 5 year guarantee with it for extra peace of mind. The only criticism I'd make is that it's not clear at all from the packaging whether the pan can be put in the dishwasher but given that it says that the surface can be cleaned with a sponge, I'm assuming not. I did find the pan very easy to clean with hot water and washing up liquid so the fact that it's not dishwasher safe wasn't a massive issue for me.All in all I'm really pleased with this - I think it's a great pan that's perfect for my needs but if you have difficulty lifting heavier items or need something dishwasher proof then this isn't for you.

At the current price I'd say this is a decent value frying pan that should offer years of solid service.I am a big Circulon fan and would always prefer to invest in that brand first and foremost, but price wise you certainly save a fair whack by going Tefal and actually, usability wise, any regret is likely to be minor. What you get with this 'Intuition' model, over and above similar models from their range, and I do have one similar size, is a solid, riveted stainless handle. This is by far a nicer handle to use, compared to the standard plastic, and so you can put the pan in the oven too. I just don't appreciate screw in handles as they inevitably come loose at some point.Circulon pans have a tad more solidity about them in my opinion, but the base of the Tefal is particularly good and that's where the real work is done. I've had zero issues with the non-stick surface. It does what it should and is easy to clean when you've finished with it. You can dishwasher it, but it's probably not recommended. Same applies to any non-stick surface. It's worth a shop around for Telal pans as, while this is a fair price via Amazon, sometimes they are discounted still further ... even Amazon have done it and at £28 currently it's well worthy of recommendation.

For me the Tefal Intuition Frypan is ideal for both size and for induction. The size of the pan, 28 cm diameter, means that I can cook enough food for a family or just lots for 2 greedy people. On the induction hob it heats up very well and the heat distribution across the pan is good. Normally when used by itself I can put it on the large centre ring of my hob but if I have a largish saucepan on the go at the same time I need to move both pans to two of the four smaller outside rings and that is when the even heat distribution comes into its own.Heating up time is as fast as I expected and is certainly not an issue. For the "red dot" to go solid is under a minute on the hob power setting. The non stick works very well and although lots of non stick pans are described as dish washer safe I will not put this pan in the dishwasher as it takes up too much space due to its size and sometimes the harsh dishwasher tablets can make the non stick go grey. The pan looks good with it's long stainless steel handle which does stay cool in use.

Tefal has long been one of the top names in pans and on a regular basis brings out a range of new and updated pans with some modifications. This latest version brings Themo Spot technology and also some design updates – I heated up my hob to try it out.Build quality wise the pan is of good quality but quite heavy making it difficult to get an angle if stir frying or flipping pancakes. It is however a good size and could be used for family meals with no issues, plus has a sleek and stylish stainless steel finish. The non stick is also as effective meaning less oil is required and pans are easier to wash up though only time will tell what effect the dishwasher will have on them. Finally the Themo Spot once you get used to it gives a good sense of when the pan is hot enough – a nice touch.Overall, apart from the size and weight, this is a very decent pan and one I would highly recommend. If you’re looking for something of high quality in many ways then look no further.

TEFAL Intuition Frypan 28" is a perfect size for cooking for 2-3 people. The pan is stainless steel and it has some heavy weight to it. The handle is comfortable to hold and is also steel which makes it oven safe (I believe it said on the packing up to an hour in the over at 260 degrees). What I have also tested is the lip on the pan which was helpful to get the sauce out of the pan and pour it on the plate without getting the whole pan dirty. The pan is conveniently dishwasher safe. This is such a versatile pan that there is nothing you can't do with it. Obviously has the signature red spot to show the right temperature for cooking and the non-stick coating is very good.I had no problems with it so far and I used it for cheese sauces even. And if you are like me and have tried several different pans, you will notice that this has 10 years guaranteed on the body and a lifetime guarantee on the nonstick coating so that gives you peace of mind.

This standard sized (28cm) frying pan is an ideal size for couples or small families. It is a decent weight (sign of a good pan) but not so heavy that you cannot lift it easily. There is a red circle with a intermittent series of black dashes around the outer edge, in the middle of the pan. Tefal call this a thermo-spot and state the intermittent dashes turn red to indicate the pan is hot enough for cooking. Although this is correct I doubt that many people need a spot to tell them when to cook. The pan has a good non- stick inner coating (made of titanium) that ensures food does not stick and can be easily removed from the pan once cooked. I cooked an omelette, pancakes and a traditional fry up in the pan and got good results every time. The pan can be used on all types of cooker tops and induction cookers.Cleaning was a doddle-soak for a few minutes in soapy, hot water to soften any remaining food residue and then simply wipe clean.

I have a few tefal frying pans and this is a substantial bit heavier and better quality .It's a larger size pan , that takes a minute or two to heat up . I have an induction job and have to be careful with the pans I use but this worked ,a don heated well with it .It goes redder in the centre and that lets me know it's heated and I can add my ingredients .Food mixes well in it and so far nothing has burnt or stuck to the inside. It does stay wat, for a few minutes after use, soi keep it out of the way of kids and animals until it cools .Cleaning wise it cleans well, it's early days but it cleans well enough . Because it's heavy it means I have to take a bit of extra care washing and drying it .I have arthritis in my wrists and it doesn't feel painful but if you are thinking of purchasing this for some elderly I would suggest not .Otherwise it seems an excellent quality, product that delivers even and well cooked results .

We have an older Tefal frying pan that we have had for quite a few years now and which is still in perfect condition and still cooks brilliantly but it is a little bit smaller than this one which is the 28cm model that I am reviewing. The pan has a really good weight to it and certainly feels like a premium pan in use however as it is slightly on the heavier side you may wish to consider this if you have problems with grip and weight such as I do and so I have had to revert to using our lighter pans but my Husband is very impressed and this is now his pan of choice. The pan cooks well and distributes heat evenly and although it can be cleaned via the dishwasher we are manually cleaning it as Ithink this is part of the reason our older pan is still in such good condition.Other than the weight which for me means I cannot really use it, this is an excellent frying pan and definitely at the premium end for quality.

This is a big, strong frying pan, with an all-metal riveted handle. As with many Tefal pans, there is a red temperature-sensitive spot in the middle, and when the pattern disappears into the red background, you know the pan is hot enough for cooking. What's really important is the durability and quality of the non-stick coating, and here Tefal has a good track record. No non-stick coating is going to stand up to metal implements, but if this one behaves as my previous Tefal pans have done, and I use only wooden or plastic tools, it will simply wear without flaking, so the pan will then have a long life. Being new, the coating is so non-stick that a little oil poured into the pan migrates to the outside, and washing the pan is very, very easy. As with most non-stick utensils, it is best to hand-wash rather than use your dishwasher.

I’ve often been disappointed with Tefal, but have bought them in the past either because they’ve been the only ones available or affordable. It remains to be seen if the non-stick on this model will last any longer than the usual few months, but it made a good first impression because it browned food very quickly and at a 20% lower temperature (ceramic) than other models. It looks good too; the shiny finish is much classier than the usual black, which eventually peels off. The handle is very sturdy and doesn’t get hot. The square-ish shape seems to make it easier to hold.On the minus side it retained a strong, metallic odour for the first few uses, despite having been washed thoroughly twice before first use and once before subsequent uses. It’s getting fainter now.Certainly a more attractive addition to the Tefal range.
