FIRST - We have owned 2 of these pans and LOVE them. No one bought me a pan, or paid me to review... I just came to get a bigger one and saw some rubbish reviews, and want to say my piece on how much I love them!!!My husband had this pan for many (5+) years and it was still in perfect condition after at least one Curry a week all that time. When we first got together 2 years ago, I stuck it in water, just hot off the stove with grease from frying chicken, and the bottom warped so it didn't sit completely flat on the glass electric cook-top. As any responsible person would do... ;-) I replaced it with the exact same pan I had damaged, and we were married 2 years later!!:-DThese photos are from the last week us making Our Version of Dhansak Chicken Curry, and Bombay Potatoes in the "new" pan which is still in perfect condition! I am currently waiting to get the larger version of this pan, so we can cook in 2 at the same time to make various dishes when we have Indian. Husband has had Tefal for decades. It's care is simple. It is very lightweight and the coating is amazing. If you take care to cook properly in them, not overheat empty pans, use plastic coated utensils with part of the coating gone so the whisk metal is exposed (WHICH I ALSO was guilty of when making gravy in his Tefal saucepan!!!) you are guaranteed an awesome cooking experience.I have learned, Not to treat aluminium non stick pans as if they are stainless steel. (BTW - TeFal do make a variety of heavier cookware if you prefer, just don't fault the pan for your cooking preferences please!) . They are more sensitive to extreme changes of heat. DO NOT USE any metal, and to be sure of not scratching!! I suggest you invest in some Silicone utensils, as they will NEVER scratch any pans, and do a great job of getting the last bit of sauce out of any jar, as they are flexible... unlike some wooden and most PLASTIC non scratch utensils. I purchased these here on Amazon: "Silicone Spatula Set Silicone Kitchen Utensils Set Silicone Brush Heat Resistant Food Grade Non-Stick, for Cooking Baking Cake Decorating, Rubber Spatula Turner Spoonula, by Benss, Set of 5, Black"I hope this helps you make up your mind about owning TeFal, and especially this Kadai Curry pan, which is the most useful pan I own! Happy Eating with TeFal!!

I received the Kadai today, within 24 hours of ordering, and I'm impressed by both the quality of the item and the delivery time. The item was well packaged and on initial impression appeared to be the high quality expected of a major brand such as Tefal. I was surprised how light the Karai was and had expected a heavier item. Anyone, regardless of age, strength, or ailment should be able to use and carry this pan with no trouble at all.The lid seats securely and has small holes to allow steam to escape nullifying any requirement for leaving the lid slightly off the pan to avoid over-heating spillages. The handles are very handy and, at first. I thought they extruded a bit too far from the pan body, but there is a good reason for this, the extended handles keep your hands well clear of the hot pan, and any escaping steam, when moving the pan - great idea Tefal! The packaging had instructions and recommendations and I was surprised to read that metal cooking implements can be used with the pan (with some exceptions). Still, I will stick with wooden or silicon implements, just to be safe. The pan comes with a one year guarantee and the non-stick coating has a lifetime guarantee, with obvious exceptions. The flat base is larger than I'd expected but this is a good thing. I opted for a karai over a wok as I wanted a flat base as I think this makes the pan more versatile. I initially bought this item for cooking curry (it is the Madras range, after all) but after receiving the pan I can see myself using this for bolognese, chilli, casseroles and more.I've yet to cook with this korai but if it's like my other Tefal pans I'm expecting good performance. I may update this review after I've used the pan. Initially, I'm really impressed with the item and the vendor.

I bought one of these pots before Christmas and came back and bought another one. They are what I would call a perfect pot. The handles are set slightly away from the pot and they do not get hot and nor does the lid handle. The pot is non stick and the ideal size for my family of 26cm. It is convenient for many different Asian recipes and in particular when frying. The lid is glass and see through. I have used my first pot I bought just before Christmas so many times over this festive period and really enjoyed the fact that it is easy to clean. I have washed it in the dishwasher and will be buying another one for my son and his girlfriend. This is so much better than a similar pot I bought that was also tefal.I don't use that one anymore as the handles get so hot and this makes it awkward to use for soups and when frying at high temperatures.I highly recommend this pot and I the price tends to fluctuate so it is worth noting that I initially paid £28 and when I came back to buy the second one it was £17. Either way it is worth £28 as if you compare this to other similar pots their prices are far more. It is light in weight and easy to lift of and on the stove even when full.

I had always previously made curries in a wok but the problem with that is that it is designed for flash frying, so the spices are prone to burning to the base and it is difficult to keep a slow simmer with all the curry being cooked through, owing to the small bottom area. My wife bought me this as a Xmas present and I could not believe how it transformed the flavour of my curries. The thick metal construction stops the burning issue and the broad base allows you to get a gentle simmer going which is hot enough to cook all of the food in the pan. Also, the weight of the metal means that heat is retained on electric hobs which click on and off thermostatically, rather than it fluctuating.I am absolutely delighted with it and would not hesitate to recommend it. Buy one, you won't be disappointed!

I like these pans so much, this was the second one I bought. I thought this was the same size as my previous pan, which was the 30cm variant but this 26cm turned out to be the perfect size for cooking a smaller portion and sits quite well in the larger sibling. They clean amazingly well, they really are non-stick and will come mostly clean with a quick rinse under the tap, then finish it off with a soft scourer and washing up liquid. My only real gripe is the storage, due to the large protruding handles they take up quite a lot of space, but they're a necessity for picking them up after cooking.

If I had to have one frying pan it would be this one.The size and shape are excellent for almost anything: stir fries, curries, pasta sauces, soups whatever.I used to have the popular Tefal Intensium 28cm wok which lasted incredibly well, the Tefal coating is definitely up to the job. In my flat we are 3 university students who used the other wok multiple times every day for 2 years before the coating started to give up. I imagine this will be the same. The only reason I didn't get the Intensium was it's lack of a lid and it's slightly higher price - honestly I think this one is the better pan.

Tefal invented non-stick, hence why they are so good at it. I've a decent selection of pans from griddle to saute to crepe and the usual saucepan selection, BUT here is a remarkable design. How so? multi use in every sense, you can fry, boil, steam with it but the depth allows for easy and amazing stir fry's, risotto's and of course curries. It's stable flat bottom (18cm) means I would recommend this as a frying pan if you've got space issues (bedsit, caravan etc) The twin handles are very useful, you can tip the pan to empty with only one - safer with 2.Oh and washing up is easy too.

This is a light pan but good quality. Smaller than I anticipated as I wanted to use it as a wok too but don't think it would hold all veg before it shrunk with cooking. Good size for currys/chilli/bolognese etc. Have made a chilli in it and it was good. I like this more than my non stick wok (which I used for everything) due to the lid. As it is light weight you do need to keep a tight hold when cooking as it slides a bit on my ceramic hob. Overall a good buy for the EXCELLENT price (cheapest I have seen it) and fast delivery from Amazon as usual.

Absolutely love this pan - this has now become my 'go-to' pan. Its fairly lightweight but if anything this is mostly an advantage as its easy to handle. I love that it can go from hob to oven. It dishwashes beautifully and needs no special care. I use it for saute(ing), shallow frying, stir fries, making sauces etc etc. Really pleased I bought it, I was slightly apprehensive as it was quite a bit cheaper than similar models but have no hesitation now in recommending it - great value for money and very, very useful.

I have had two of these very versatile pans, each of which has lasted 3+ years. I use mine almost every day - on the hob, in the oven, hob to oven or directly to the oven, lid on or off with no problems. The pan and lid ARE definitely oven safe up to 180 C for an hour and the handles do NOT melt. I always use non-metallic utensils, NEVER anything sharp, NEVER over-heat and hand wash only. Just follow the manufacturer's care instructions and you can't go far wrong. Highly recommended product.

Incredibly happy with this purchase. It is that big that I can cook a curry for a family of four easily, and have loads left over to put in the fridge. It's got a little steam hole so you can leave the lid on and keep the pan on a low heat whilst you go off and do something else - great if you tend to go back for seconds as it ensures they are warm. Much better than just using a big pan, as the twin handles make it a lot easier to carry. Washes up very easily too. Top product.

I have had one of these pans but the smaller 25cm version for a couple of years and love it. I wanted another so bought the bigger version to enable me to cook even more food!Excellent quality pan. I have never had any problem with the peeling like the other reviews say. I only ever use mine on the hob so can't comment on use in the oven. The side handles are great as you can stack them and don't have the handle getting in the way

15.11.2015

It's nice , used three times already in 2 days time , only slight criticism is , as it so light and I have gas hobs it moves from hob so easily so feel that it won't be safe for my son ( new cook ) to use it and I will have to give a time to get used to with this too and same problem on dinner table - I placed it on a still ring but it doesn't sit on anything firmly , otherwise it's so good and I can still recommend this Kadai !!!

After having a cheap wok that forever gets everything stuck to it I decided to spend a bit more and get a pan that will last. I was wanting a wok with a lid, I also love tefal pans for their non stick coating. This was an obvious choice. Love the pan. Exactly what I wanted. I think it will last for years to come. Only slight negative, with having two handles its awkward to hold and pour food out. But not a massive issue for me.

After watching Rick Steins series on finding the perfect curry I felt the need to buy the correct equipment and have a go. Sadly could not get the real thing in this country but after consulting an Indian friend living in England I purchased the above. It's great! Does the job perfectly and now is in regular use. Love it.Delivery & packaging excellent.
