This is an innovative frying pan divided into two sections - one with a smooth surface for general use and the second with a ribbed base suitable for cooking meat. The pan is non-stick, made of aluminium for good heat distribution, and comes with a two-year guarantee. As it's aluminium whilst the pan is sturdy it's relatively light.The pan is oven safe to 175 degrees and can be placed in a dishwasher although it's preferable it is hand washed. Over the first few uses the non-stick surface has been very effective making hand washing easy. Of course over time I'd expect this to deteriorate so hand washing might become more onerous.The pan is at a good price point but is let down a little by a relatively short guarantee for cookware.

I purchased mine at a discounted price from a different retailer and I am very happy with the item.Ideally, I wanted a quality split frying pan with two smooth surfaces to fry on so I wasn't sure how the grill part will perform on some of the food types. I didn't need to worry. I fry egg, re-heat chicken drumsticks in sauce or fry burgers on the grill part while using the smooth one to re-heat steamed potatoes or cooked buckwheat groats, having previously browned chopped onion on it. It takes minutes to prepare the whole meal and it's perfect for one person. I imagine it may just be fine size-wise if cooking for two.I was also worried if the base would efficiently cover my hob's ring size, 21cm.

This pan is great, if you only want to cook for you. That is the main qualifier I can give you. The fact is, in every way that matters, this is a fine piece of cookware. It is heavy and well balanced, with a good solid base, and the division allows you to cook two separate items at the same time. I personally chose steak and fried eggs to test it out, and it worked exactly as you would like; the steak got those desirable brown grill marks from the grill side of the pan, and the eggs cooked well and were easy to remove from the smooth side. After I finished, the pan was easily cleaned with a sponge and some hot water. Time will tell, but I imagine with care the non-stick coating should last a good while.

Love this. What a great idea - a divided pan, allowing for two foods to be cooked at once. If they existed before, I wasn't aware; but what tips it for me is twofold. One: the quality of this pan. Tefal are always reliable; good quality, and reassuringly good value for money - but the weight on this is superb. Not light, so has plenty of life in it; and the handle and grip is pleasing. Two: one half of the pan has a griddle, so you can either go for the lower-fat style of frying; or, much to my delight, get that satisfying pattern on meats or vegetables.I've used this and washed it up several times, and, as long as you're mindful of not using a scourer on it, or plunging it into cool or cold water straight off the heat,

This cast aluminium pan from Tefal is 26cm square with rounded corners. It is divided into two compartments - one is smooth and one a ridged griddle. When you want to cook just for one or two people, or have limited space on your hob, this is a great arrangement for quickly cooking meat and veg, fish and veg, halloumi and veg, bacon/mushroom and eggs.......many possibilities.The pan is weighty and can be used on any hob EXCEPT induction. The surface is non stick if treated correctly: before first using rub the surface with cooking oil, avoid using any sharp utensils, and preferably hand wash (though it can go in the dishwasher.) This is a heavy cast aluminium pan. It is 26 cm across, which is around 10 inches.Iit has two compartments. On one side you have a ridged base for meat, and a smooth base for things like fried eggs or veg.Both sides have a nonstick coating. The handle is plastic and solidly attached with a screw – this means that if it becomes loose, it is possible to tighten up .Occasionally I fry meat and vegetables and it is useful to put them in the same pan but keep the flavours separate.This comes with a two-year guarantee and you are advised to avoid whisks or sharp utensils. Lush idea for a pan, really useful for making slightly separate meals for two or keeping food apart when cooking for one - eg. sausages on one side and egg or tinned beans on the other. I also think that the ridges on the one side make some food items like meats look more attractive too. The pan is easy to clean, as tends to be the case with Tefal, so all good.The issue I have with it is that it's a heavy pan, the shape of the handle and the shape of the pan just seem to make it a bit uncomfortable if you're having to transfer items from pan to plate a few times over the course of cooking. It's a small niggle but enough to put me off using it on some occasions even when I know it'd be easier

This frying pan is split into two parts: a grill section which I’ve used for meat, fish and chicken and a smooth base section which I have used for frying eggs and a stir fry. You only need a tiny amount of oil and none of my food has stuck to the pan. The pan is of excellent quality and sturdy although a little heavy for such a small pan. I found it easy to clean and avoided using the dishwasher which apparently can affect the life of the pan. It is oven safe so can be used under the grill, which is useful. Note that the pan is not suitable for induction hobs.My only criticism is that the pan is a little on the small side for two or more people, but would be excellent for a single person.

This is a great little pan, that is perfect in my opinion for single people, single cooking, and weight watching. I follow WW and love a healthy brunch of bacon/eggs etc, this pan allows you to cook a full english breakfast for one person and only dirty the one pan. I particularly like the ridged side as those brown stripes just make food look more appealing in my opinion.It is a great size, the non stick works well, it cleaned easily after my lunch today (just wiped it with a damp cloth as there was nothing stuck on it).Will be using it again tonight for the steaks we are having for dinner - two fillets will fit, but you couldn't do two sirloins at the same time.

Smaller sized, two compartment frying pan. Once half has raised bars to allow fat to drain away from meat during cooking and the other half is completely flat for eggs, veg, beans etc. Good, heavy construction, cast aluminium, and certainly non-stick. I like the solid handle. It's quite short and that makes the pan easier to move around. Safe for all heat sources, apart from induction, and easy to clean with a quick wipe from a sponge and a rinse under hot water. Large enough for around four sausages and a couple of fried eggs or two small chops with a decent sized portion of veg. Good quality pan and nice to keep around for a quick dinner and minimal washing up.

This is a nice heavy quality Tefal product with a superior nonstick coating.The pan is a good size and the dividing ridge makes it easy to separate two components when frying - one side is ridged (which I used for my bacon) while the other side is flat (mushrooms and egg, in my case). It worked very well and, for once, the white of the egg did not run everywhere as it was pretty much contained. No cross-contamination!It certainly reduces the number of pans and rings in use and could of course be used for a variety of items. Heats up quickly, is easy to clean after use and the quality feels as it should from Tefal - a quality product. Recommended!

Something of a niche product these 'split' frying pans. This is TEFAL so a brand I am familiar with and trust. It's reassuringly well made and has the right heft - neither too heavy nor too light.I've used it most for doing 'meat and two veg' type meals of an evening and also for cooked breakfast. The griddle side of the pan is of course useful for meat, but it's good for tomatoes and other veg.I've hand-washed so far and it cleans very easily.Obviously at this size it's not going to lend itself to cooking for large numbers, but for 1-2 people it works well and reduces the number of pans you'll need.Recommended.

The 'Tefal A1989014 Divided Frying Pan, Black' is a good quality non-stick divided frying pan, with a ridged section on one half. While too small for cooking for a family, it is an ideal size for a single person (or dieting couple... ), and is also useful for separating foods which different members won't touch (a vegetarian child in a carnivorous house, for example) without having to wash an extra pan. The non-stick surface is effective, and the ridges leave a good effect on steak. It is easy to clean and is hefty enough to feel like a quality pan without being so heavy that you get tennis elbow from it. Great pan.

A well made Tefal split compartment frying pan. Heavy duty cast Aluminium gives a sturdy feel. The pan is split down the middle enabling you to cook two different ingredients / meals in the same pan. Heavy based, good quality frying pan. It’s a grill pan on one side which is great for steaks and chicken breasts, and a normal frying pan on the other side, good for sautéing vegetables.If you like simple meat and vegetables type meals , this is a handy pan with good even heat distribution.It would also be good for cooking bacon on the grill pan and fried or scrambled eggs on the other side.The handle is plastic so it is warm and comfortable to hold.Great medium sized pan- perfect for pork chops and veggies type meals.Suitable for all hobs but not induction.
