I really like this cool getaway truck LEGO Technic Set. It has a "Pull Back" mechanism to make your truck really race, which I love. I'm a fan of LEGO, but this is only my second foray into the Technic series (the first one being the Police Pursuit vehicle), and it does not disappoint. It's pretty cool building things in a different way from regular LEGOs. It provides a different way of building with new techniques and building capabilities. While some of the pieces from both classic LEGO and Technic have made their way into each other's sets, the Technic has a distinctively different type of piece and connection. There's definitely more movement in the Technic set,and it has more features for things like making gearboxes and steering systems. If you are a fan of LEGO Technic, of LEGO vehicles, of LEGO, of trucks, or of the pull-back motion vehicle, or you think you might be, then this is a great set.The pieces come in 2 bags, plus the pullback mechanism, 4 tires, and a sheet of stickers. I've found that it's useful to open all of the bags, but keep the pieces a little bit separate. The pieces aren't randomly distributed between bags - instead, all of the pieces of a particular type may be in one or two bags, so if you dump the bags out and keep the pieces slightly separate, once you've found which pile your piece is in, you may find the rest of them in that same pile or in that one and one other. In this set, the bags seem to correspond to small and large pieces. The instruction book has nice imagery, clear instructions, and a QR code so you can read the building instructions from a tablet or other device using the LEGO Life app. Within the LEGO Life app, for this set, you can access step by step instructions, a pdf version of the instructions, and a pdf size chart (so you can print it out and compare the size of your pieces to it to know which pieces are which). If you also have the Police Pursuit vehicle, the digital instructions for Police Pursuit has instructions for a combined build from this one (Getaway Truck) plus Police Pursuit to make Ultimate 4x4. For both the included instruction booklet and the pdf version, all text is provided in at least English, French, and Spanish, and in some cases, several additional languages also. The instructions themselves, in usual LEGO style, are all pictures and symbols.

This Lego kit enables you to build a truck with a fly-wheel motor. The kit is made with Lego Technic pieces rather than with regular Legos. The Technic line is often used in scientific Lego kits for exploring engineering concepts. Here, the Technic pieces are pure fun, but they take advantage of some the advantages of Technic like making for a super-sturdy build that you can really get moving rather than just something to look at. Special features of this kit are the chunky tires and the fly-wheel motor. The finished truck measures out at 7” long, 3” wide, and 2” high. Lego rates this kit for ages 7+.My 12-year-old nephew has had a blast with this kit. He is a Lego aficionado, but he doesn’t have many Technic kits, so there were some parts and concepts for him in this kit. The fly-wheel motor is a winner, he says. No sooner did he have the truck put together, it went zooming across the living room floor. And smashed into the sofa, but still stayed in one piece since it is Technic. Cool! Overall, this kit is great both for getting familiar with Technic techniques, but also simply for playing with once it is built out.

Oh yeah! My boys really loved this Lego Technic toy. Not the biggest or most complex Lego out there, but it's only $20. And for the money it has great size, complexity, and play-ability. Engaging construction, neat use of fancy technic parts, with no issues for our Lego experienced six-year-old. Usual high quality Lego instructions. And once it's built it is a durable fun toy to actually play with, with next pull-back wind-up wheel action.Do please note, maybe warn young ones, that the tracked vehicle on one side of the box is something you can make in combination WITH ANOTHER SET. It's not an alternate build from just the parts here. We have a three in one dinosaur box that makes three different dinosaurs from the same bricks, and a certain six-year-old was thinking that was the case here. Sorry. But again; the brick count, complexity, and fun of this box is above average for twenty dollar Lego kits. Hope this quick review from an experienced Lego Dad helps you.

My son loves all Legos, and so when he began getting into Technics I knew he would be in for the long haul. He is a 10 year old boy. This is the Lego Technic Getaway Truck 42090 with 128 pieces. I feel this is a great introduction into Technics, and this is because this truck is small and manageable to assemble. It is not exactly like building a normal Lego since it has different types of pieces and the separate section that makes the car a pull and go. However, this was not a hard build and my 10 year did fine. He loves the fact these types of Legos move and have parts that do things. He has two other huge Technics his father and he built, and this little one has happily joined the family. The pull and go does indeed work on a hard floor. I would recommend this, and I feel the value is good for the product.

With only 128 pieces, this set was quite doable for my 6-year-old grandson with a little help from his dad. It's not a big truck at 2" high, 7" long, and 3" wide, but it's fun, has a pull-back motor, chunky tires, a cool front bumper and some flame stickers to decorate with for an even high coolness level. This set is also supposed to be combinable with other Lego sets and Lego bricks. It would be a convenience if when some of the small parts go astray, as they are wont to do when there are young children around, a similar piece from another set could work in its place. I'm not sure about that, not being a Lego expert. Sometimes the parts are too specialized nowadays to do that, as a ploy, IMO,to make more money off us poor chumps who like Legos.

My 9 year old son loves LEGO and LEGO Technic sets. He loves these smaller Technic truck sets. He builds them pretty quickly but he really enjoys playing with them. The pull back feature is very impressive and really makes the truck go fast and far. He loves the look of the truck, especially the stickers which are very detailed and he says look “dirty” because they have a mud splattered design. It’s a very sturdy build. He’s been racing it all over the house and there’s no issues at all with it staying together, even during rough play. He loves cars so these sets are a huge hit with him. This would be a great gift for any Technic fan, especially if they enjoy racing!

We don't get a lot of Technic builds but we have been pretty happy with all the ones we have gotten over the years. I like that they often involve mechanical gearing or other real world engineering concepts. This line is nice for its pull back motor action. This makes these cars much more playable as toys once constructed. The build was quick - twenty minutes or so - and the finished model is pretty solid. I'm not the biggest fan of Technic's ability to represent vehicles, I think I prefer a good classic Lego set, but the kids loved this and it is a great set for below $20. Can't celebrate Lego's enough.

This one was pretty simple to put together and it holds up reasonably well in use. I mean, it's Lego. It's not surviving crashing into much of anything, but it doesn't shed parts along the way. I have one car that keeps throwing a wheel. Could just be me though. Anyway, this one doesn't give me that problem, so this one is really good. The technic line is a lot of fun. Fun to build. Fun to use. Just a great toy. And most kids will crash, rebuild, crash again, so it should keep a little busy for quite some time.

I really like these pull back kits. They hit the sweet spot for lego play ability and good design. This one has great wheels and you play with it on almost any surface. The fact you can pull together multiple kids and build a monster truck is great, although I haven't done it with this exact kit I have with others and its cool. There really isn't a down side to this except you know your kids are going to be building ramps and racing across the floors!

This was a GREAT set to complete! I love the Technic line from lego. They add an element of challenge that many normal lego sets don't have but are still a blast to put together. They are a great learning opportunity and really engage your mind while building. This truck is no exception. It was a blast to put together and is such a fun set!I highly recommend this set!

Son first saw this at a LEGO store in a mall last year. This is a lovely truck. The pull back function works like a charm. Build quality is very consistent with all other LEGO products. As always the pieces are complete without anything missing. The best part is that we already have the Technic police pursuit 42091 and we can combine these two into one bigger vehicle.

I love LEGO kits and this one is pretty good. With 128 pieces, an easy to follow instruction manual. This LEGO truck also has pull back action for chase scenes. You remember those type of toys, don't you? So much fun, pull back and they shoot forward. You can also look online to find other items to build. You are only limited by imagination.

I like this set, but I think the pull-back motor spins too fast too suddenly, and I think the tires are not very grippy. I reviewed this LEGO set on my YouTube Channel, and I hope you will check it out. The name of my channel is Everything LEGO, and it has a picture of the LEGO City Diving Yacht. I hope this answered all your questions!

Great truck. When you pull it back and release it, it will cruise far. You can race these with your other Lego technic trucks. These are always a favorite for us because you can actually play with them without falling a part. It’s built to last. My son loves these for that reason and can play with them when friends are over.

It's Lego with a pull back zip. It actually moves forward when pulled back.Grandson went bonkers.Detailed instructions must be followed. Did need a minor adjustment at one attachment point.Totally worth it for any Lego enthusiast.
