For years growing up I found Teachers whisky retch inducing. A sip of it, I would physically retch and say no more. Even the liqueur sweets with Teachers inside I couldn't eat more than one and would be gurning like crazy after one. It was the creamy/salty aftertaste that kicks in after a sip that caused all of the issues for me.Since this time and hitting my very late 30s. I have grown a taste for the extremely peaty Islay whisky's. My favourites being the most smoke or salty you can get.Then suddenly I received a small 5CL bottle for Christmas of Teachers, tried it, and loved it to the extent where its become one of my favourite whiskies.

At the price that this stuff can be bought for Teacher's is worth 5 stars, but that would exaggerate how good the whisky really is. I bought this because I had heard that Teacher's recipe has changed and it is now good again, and it certainly is. Nice, peated blend with a lot of malt sweetness. I opened a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label at the same time as the Teacher's, tasted them side by side and found the JWBL to be noticeably harsher, despite being a 12 year old, compared with the Teacher's having no age statement. A month later I had finished the Teacher's and only drunk four doubles of the JWBL. In fact I just bought another 1L bottle of Teacher's at my local offlicence for less than 18 quid while I still have half the bottle of JWBL in the cupboard,

This used to be my favourite whisky and it didn't seem to be available in the supermarkets when I mentioned that I used to like this to my partner they decided to buy me a bottle as a surprise. I don't mean to be ungrateful but this is not the same whisky I used to buy and enjoy, this one has a slightly peaty finish ,it does say this on the bottle but my partner didn't realise there were two types of Teachers whisky, and neither did I .We have now bought a bottle of the one I used to drink, and luckily my partner does like this one, but I just wanted to warn other buyers that there are two different bottles of this whisky so you can make the right choice.

I've no idea why Teachers is no longer available to buy in the supermarkets any longer, for some years now so when I see the product on Amazon at a good price, I'll buy it straight away. It's for my brother-in-law so he's always knows what in his birthday/Christmas/I'm visiting present :D This was a good price.

Brilliant service and looks real good. Xmas present for my 96 year old dad so cannot comment on flavour yet but gosh I think he will be over the moon with it. Teachers is so rare these days and last time he had a bottle was probs 40 years ago.

My Dad drank it all and is still alive. It also improved his happiness but decreased his balance. Not recommended for tight rope walking but great for a night infront of the fire.

Not as good as I remembered but still a good taste. Used to drink it often when going for a night out, so nice little treat for Christmas.

A very good blended whisky which unfortunately is hard to get hold of ,so we'll done amazonNicely plated but not overpowering

As expected, little expensive but delivered on time and saved a 200 mile journey at no extra cost on Prime.

Can't really go far wrong with a bottle of teachers, it's my nannas favourite so was a present for her.
