I first came across Taylor's White Chip Dry Port when I was having a meal at the Taylor's Port Cellars at the Nova de Gaia in Porto. It was a tasting menu with each course served with a different glass on port the prospect of which I thought was going to be very heavy indeed with glass after glass on dark fortified wine. I was, however, pleasantly surprised by the variety of port drinks served, none more so than the Chip Dry which was served as an aperitif in a bowl glass with plenty of ice and a dash of soda. The crispness of the dry port was a great palate cleanser and I bought a bottle home. I have struggled to find this in the UK as it seems that although port wine is a British inventionwhich was introduced during the Napoleonic war to enable the aristocracy to have wine on their table that was not from France, dry white ports have not really caught on although, Spanish sherry has several dry wine varieties that are popular. I was pleased to find this again and it is an ideal drink on a summer day.

Taylor's Chip Dry is a white port mixer - ideal for a hot summer's day.A measure of Taylor's Chip Dry and either 7 Up or soda water over ice and it is a wonderful refreshing drink.I love it and really enjoy a glass or two.

This was so enjoyable that it was touch and go as to whether or not we finished it all off in one go. It went down a treat with smoky almonds. Will be purchasing this again for sure - probably tomorrow in fact.

This port is supposed to be good with olives and almonds. This we'll may be the case but I have just had it with St. John's Eccles cakes. Divine! This wine must be treated with love.

Had this at a port tasting at Taylor’s in Portugal and couldn’t wait to buy some more. It needs to be served chilled to be at its best. Beautiful and crisp and dry.

Good white port. If you have never had white port, you should be pleasantly surprised - it’s an adult dry taste.Try it over ice on a summers eve.

I Like this! Makes a splendid alternative to Gin & Tonic and good on it's own over ice especially for a summer evening in the garden...

Mix with tonic, slice of lemon and leaf of mint, 3 blocks of ice. Enjoy the summer. Better than G&T's.

Most white ports are very sweet, but this is just right and has a great flavour. Great value.
