Panzer V ausf ‘G’ “PANTHER”. This is the best Tamiya kit I’ve built so far (& I’ve built quite a few). I say best because I actually loved putting it together, usually the build part is a means to an end, meaning the painting & weathering process is what I enjoy most, thebuild went together flawlessly. The wheels are all workable which is strange for a static model & are held in place by the drive sprocket & idler wheel (which have internal poly caps) & the tracks. The tank actually rolls forward & backwards. I used my usual choice of aftermarket parts namely Friul Model tracks, Aber metal gun barrel, Eduard photo etch, Eurika xxl tow cable, brass mg34 gun barrel & a brass radio antenna.

While time and subsequent newer kits have passed this one by, it is still a good build. At the time of its release (and its two brothers) the Tamiya Panther G was seen as one of the best kits released. Even some 25 years later it still builds up nicely. Purists bemoan its missing details, rubber band tracks, and lack of etch, but remember when this kit was released these were not considered important. And you can easily acquire these items should you wish.If you are looking for an accurate highly detailed Panther G, then this is not the kit for you. But if you want a nice reasonably accurate and detailed Panther then this is for you. If you want to improve your skills, there are dozens of update sets to help.

As ever, a top quality kit from Tamiya, the company that pretty much sets the benchmark for construction kit standards. The Panther has been my 'favorite' tank since I built the 1/72 scale Airfix version back in the mid sixties. I already have the Tamiya Aufs A, the Jagdpanther and BergPanther, so this Aufs G will be a welcome addition to my collection.

A nice kit from zvezda, better than I was expecting. Not up to Dragon or Meng standard but a decent build. The details aren't as well moulded or sharp as Dragon but certainly passable. The fit was mainly very good, just a few little niggles here and there, nothing major and no great big gaps to fill. At the price certainly worth looking at.

Bought this kit after struggling with a Dragon Smart kit, the kit arrived in a couple of days and I'm about half way through the build which has been a joy. Great price great kit highly recommended.

Straight forward to build - really good. But are the tracks one link short? I found so and had to adapt one of the spare track links. Otherwise tho it was excellent.

Spot on just what I was looking for and even had the armoured skirt which is not shown on the box great detail and value for your money. Very happy☺

Bought for a friend (got him a Tiger last year) and he loves it. Scale allows details to become very clear. Not cheap but excellent quality.

A little dated but at this price point you can get good tracks, photo etch grills and still be well below the cost of the new Panther kits.

MY GRANDSON WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THIS MODEL AND FOUND IT QUITE EASY TO BUILD, HE IS 11 YEARS OLD.

Really pleaded
