Another great tank build from Tamiya. For the build you have the option of rubber tracks or link build tracks, both have decent detail. I went for the rubber band tracks as it meant I could lay off painting and weathering the tracks and wheels, where as if I had used the link build I would have had to have painted them once I had glued them in place. Three figures are also included but not necessary for the build. I included them in my build but confess to not being the best at painting small figures, they do add that extra touch though. The build is excellent and goes together very well, there is a lot of items to be attached to the turret but time and care will see you all right.

I've always liked the look of the Matilda and always wanted to make one. I've been making model kits since I was a kid but this is definitely my favourite yet.This kit is such good fun to make, there's no annoying parts that are complicated for the sake of it yet there's plenty of detail which will keep you busy for many hours.I don't have an air brush, all paint was done with brushes and masking tape to create the straight edges. I would recommend assembling the main hull and turret then painting it before you put any extras on as you won't be able to get masking tape around when you do that. Just some simple smudges with my finger from a weathering kit is the only added detail and I'm really happy with how it looks.One thing though,

A fantastic model from Tamiya. Easily built with no fit issues. The plastic is well moulded and this does not take much work to make a good model. You get a choice of main armament too represent different versions, but more importantly, you get the choice between rubber band tracks (for those who want an easy life) and link and length styrene tracks (for masochistic detail freaks). The crew figures are well sculpted and add value.The only downside I encountered was that for some reason, the decal sheet made for very thin, fragile decals that fell to bits if I even looked at them too hard. I have done several Tamiya models and never encountered this issue before,

This was on my wish list and I received it as a gift from the list.An excellent kit from Tamiya. It goes together really well with hardly any cleanup needed. All the sprue gates are in sensible places with hardly any of them in visible locations. There are three build options in the box and a choice of rubber tracks or plastic. If you want to, you can build it so that the wheels and tracks are functional. The turret is moveable also, as is the main gun and driver’s hatch.This is a model of the highest quality, I definitely recommend it.

What a beautiful little kit.Goes together almost perfectly and gives a very good model of this unusual vehicle.Only two small gripes (1) figures are OK but not great and (2) had to drill a few holes that are used on all model variants but not included in the basic kit; why not?I didn’t bother finishing the crew figures, the various pictures show them both before and after shading and where I stopped working on them. I’ve ordered some mini-art British tank crew figures

Tamiya's second run at a Matilda... and really rather successful. Not an over-engineered kit, so is a fun build with lots of scope for a good paint-job. Nice moldings with both "rubber band" tracks and "link and lenght" if you want an easier paint session. If you've not tried Tamiya AFVs before, you could do a LOT worse than starting with this kit. The Char B is rather nice, also....

Well detailed kit with some nice, albeit light, cast texture e.g Turret.Choice of rubber band or the more detailed plastic tracks which in my opinion is a good option.The kit also comes with to well detailed figures along with a choice of decal themes.In conclusion for me a nice kit at a fair price.

Fantastic Tamiya top quality model. I thoroughly enjoyed making this. Recently revisiting my teenage years of model making, enjoying the peace and tranquility of time to enjoy making plastic scale models. Quality of the parts is fantastic and I even enjoyed painting it to look like the one on the box.

Wonderful model kit of this iconic tank. Beautifully engineered and beautifully moulded too. Thank you Tamiya. Buy with confidence you will not be disappointed. The three crewmen are excellent as too is the choice for modelling the tracks either rubber band type or links and lengths, fabulous!
