The Yamato model which was bought is from a very respected model manufacturer - TAMIYA. This means that the you know very well that the product will be made to the highest standard. I purchased this model along with 2 other WWII Battleships, 1 of which has been completed and the other has been started, this model was left to the end because of the complexity of the build. That mean of course the attention to detail in the model parts is of a very high standard. Overall an excellent model to be built and a challenge I have not previously had with other models.

this New Yamato kit is far more detailed and miles harder to make than the old kit, it's therefore not for an inexperienced modeller. IMPORTANTLY it requires additional Photo Etch, including Railings, metal gun barrels, hull Degaussing set and a PE Wooden Deck (these are not supplied), because if not this kit isn't worth you bothering with.you'll also need Tweezers, a desk magnifying glass, PERFECT LIGHTING and loads of patience, because this ship has Photoetch ladders and railings all over it and these items are so small.

Over engineered. But having said that, it,s the best fitting kit I have ever experienced, and I have had quite a few kits. Even parts where you would expect a little sanding , clicked into position perfectly. A pleasure to build. The instructions and drawings were another matter. Confusing and inadequate to say the least. But all in all a cracking good kit. Deserves 5 stars.

This kit is expensive as hell but worth every penny;It is detailed through and through and the Photo etch parts included give it that extra kick which does this; the queen of battleships justice.She is a monster of a build though; time an effort certainly required!

Excellent new tool model from Tamiya ,””finished” within a month (due to lockdown but I’m still working on her) with pleasure ,highly recommended however you may need some experience and extra parts though.
