I'm sure that many people who would read this will know the superb standard that Tamiya achieve in their models. They really do go together perfectly and this is no exception.Minimal sanding required and every part went together perfectly. This really does epitomise the 'shake and bake' kits that have become so good compared to the guff I used to make as a small boy. However, I would say that I think Tamiya have slightly sat on their laurels. Just a tad, but enough to be noticed if you have made stuff by other manufacturers. And this is down to one thing. The tracks. In this model kit you only get the rubber tracks which, lets be honest here are not really up to the standard that we now expect.Takom include linked plastic tracks which, make a far better finished product on your vehicle for instance.I also note that there is no etched stuff which many others now include. And, irritatingly the gun barrel is a split design that means some filler and sanding. Others include a metal barrel that works far better. And whilst one may think I'm being a bit unfair, Tamiya prices are not that cheap so I rather hope they will in future releases up the included parts. That being said there is no doubt this goes together well and makes an impressive model - if not an impressive tank in real life. Not many parts to be honest so fairly quick to build which, leaves more time to faff around painting and weathering. This is something I like to do as it's part of the hobby that wasn't a 'thing' when I still ran around in shorts in the 70s' and which, I've enjoyed learning. Well, still learning to be honest.Overall you can't go too wrong with Tamiya because their stuff is easy to make and needs little extra help to finish. Just need better tracks and a bit of metal to make take this model kit back to the top of the pile.

In usual Tamiya style, we have an intelligently engineered kit with clear and concise instructions. As is the norm, parts count is relatively low and there is little to no flash to clean up. Decal options are adequate and finely registered. Some nitpicky downsides: the small wirehandles are molded blocks, often the case with Tamiya. You can either make your own, use an aftermarket PE set, or simply paint them and try to use a dark wash to emulate empty space. The other somewhat large inaccuracies are the engine deck is an early style, which appeared on training and reserve vehicles based in the UK and an optional hedgerow cutter which so far as we know was fitted to only one test vehicle that stayed in England.A resin corrected deck is available. The Cromwells that saw combat had a later engine deck layout. Another annoying thing is PE engine screens have to be bought seperately. All in all though, the kit is clean and easy to build albeit with a couple of small inaccuracies. I am sure many will be tempted to use the hedgerow cutter- it does look cool.

Arrived today and what a bargain this was, £8 with free postage can't be argued at for a great modern Tamiya kit of the Cromwell in 1:35, most decent 1:76 kits will cost over £10 these days.I already have one of these kits so I intend to do an alternate version than the one in the advertisment. The moulding is superb, crisp and clear on hull detail, panel lines are there, hatches, wheel detail and there is also a figure provided to set the tank off after completion. One thing I like about Tamiya AFV's is the relative simplicity of the parts and construction, but far from finishing with a cheap under detailed kit, these things always look like they would have had twice the parts like a Dragon or Trumpeter kit.I intend to enhance the level of realism with some plastic separate links aftermarket tracks.Never too be seen for this nprice again I don't doubt, a great kit and well worth the time.

Simply a brilliant little kit! For those who are inexperienced, this is a good choice as it is a very easy and forgiving build. For more experienced modellers it is a wide open platform for super detailing, stowage etc.You get a lot of decal options and a surprising amount of detail inside the turret if you like to keep the hatches open. Two building points: 1. The headlamp guards are ridiculously fragile, do take care. 2. The grill at the back needs some care and some trial and error to get the right fit into its frame. Otherwise, the kit virtually builds itself into a nicely detailed model. This kit has something for everyone and is a great subject. Five stars.

This was an ideal model if you have made two or three previously. The plan was clear and concise with enough information to help the builder decide on which finish to apply. Decide early which way and when you paint the wheels as they can become a bit fiddly to complete the detail should you fit the before painting. Each model is different and each builder will assemble and finnish in their own way. It was enjoyable without any hassle. I recommend this model

Its a Tamiya and as with most of their products it is good quality. This is a fairly straight forward model with clear instructions. I understand that it is an older tool that is used to produce these but there was very little "flash" on mine. It could do with another crew member but these are availble as accessoires from elsewhere.

I got this as a present for my dad who loves modelling and british tanks are getting harder and harder to find, takes awhile to get here as it is sent from Japan but it is worth the wait. My dad was very happy with this model and would recommend as this is a great model with lovely detail.

This cromwell kit from tamiya is very detailed and a joy to build and paint. The instructions are clear and all of the parts fit together with no flash on them at all. Ive made lots of tamiya kits and they are all excellent with this one being one of the best.

The kit is well presented in a sturdy box.The moulded parts are well detailed and free from excess plastic (flash). The crew figure is very good. The tracks are moulded in single lengths, one for each side, from vinyl, I think.

Bought as a birthday present. Arrived promptly, beautiful quality. Have inspected the sprues/decals/instructions and very impressed by the quality of the parts. Will build into a beautiful model. Highly recommended.

Great product, can be built straight from the box , or very easily enhanced with a few after market pieces, enjoyable to build, with an excellent fit to all parts .

Typically good Tamiya kit. It is well moulded and the parts go together very well. Note that it is less challenging than, say, a kit by Dragon Models.

This kit looks pretty good. The detail and clarity of the mouldings is excellent. Will see what it is like to construct but so far looking good.

Although 23 years old, the Tamiya 1/35 Cromwell Tank still has crisp detail and fits together brilliantly to produce a very good model.
