The Bismarck, the smaller sister ship of the Tirpitz, 823.5 feet long, 118 feet wide amidships, 41,676 tons displacement (50,153 fully loaded) with four twin 15inch main gun turrets and six twin 150mm secondary gun placements, her gun armour alone ranged from 5 to 14 inches of thickness, her armour belt ranged from 5.7-12.75 inches, deck armour 2 inches (upper) and 1.2 inches (main). Her overal speed being 30.1 kts.You get a single peice hull, the deck comes in three sections, super structure detailing is good, as is the guns, life boats, propellers and masts. You will have to create your own rigging, so I recommend useing fishing line for an extra touch of realism. If you want to add mega detail to this kit,

A very attractive box which is the first sign of quality. The single moulded hull was a godsend. All the parts were intact and clearly identified. The instructions were in the form of diagrams (just like most of the assemble yourself furniture instructions) - minimal words but where used the English was perfect. Once or twice during the build I was left wondering, do I assemble this as a single unit or multiple units and then add together but otherwise no problems in following those instructions. Some paint instructions were inadequate but only in respect of small parts. The one criticism I have is that some of the parts are very very tiny and difficult to handle.

I never actually received this model from Cazado (the seller of my order) and after much correspondence and promise of re-shipping and refund, nothing arrived. I eventually bought this kit in a Hobby-craft store. The only let-down EVER on Amazon. But this kit is awesome and the quality of Tamiya shines again. It is also possible to convert this to r/c for those who want to build one. The hull is molded in one piece making the job of building quite easy, although its probably not advisable for the young/inexperienced model maker.Seriously though - avoid Cazado.

Usually i build and collect models of tanks and thought about time for a change,Bismark caught my eye and was not disappointed when i received my model from Tamiya ,looks a good example of this fine ship and cant wait to start building and at £44.99 was really well priced compared to high street shops and other retailers ,would highly recommend this model to the more advanced modeller and to put a good finish to the job make sure you get yourselves the right paints from Tamiya to complete the job .

Thought I would give this companies model kit a try , as it gets good remarks. Have to say it looks and feels very good and hardly any extra moulding to file off . Bought a couple of upgrade kits ie wooden decking and brass gun barrels etc. As I am still finishing off the Revell Titanic model this new one will be next on list to be built.

i bought this model as a hobby,always been fascinated with warships from that era.arrived very quickly.the quality of the model is superb,havent quit finnished it yet.the detail is awesum.looking forward to finishing it.recomend to any model enthusiast...

product arrived three days earlier than predicted which was great. haven't started building it yet but i assume it will be another great tamiya kit to go with all the others i have built so what else is there to say except tamiya are the best

Bought this as a present for my brother who is 73. He is absolutely delight and now plans to obtain the other boats from that historic encounter. Had no complaint as he found the few challenges encountered exhilarating. I am very pleased.

Excellent quality and the attention to detail is astounding. Bought for my husband and he's loving it. Easy to follow instructions and a list of paints needed so you can get them ordered while completing the model.

Its Tamiya and as usual a perfect model with all pieces slotting in correctly with no filing to be done. I have had a few Tamiya models and will continue purchasing this brand as they are excellent.

A beautiful model to make,very well detailed.Everything fitted perfectly.It will sit on my shelf and look very proud.One of the most beautiful ships I have ever seen,the Scharnhorst does come close.

The usual Tamiya excellence. Looks tremendous, and more robust than some other models. Why all modelling companies don't supply a single piece hull, I don't know. Clear instructions.

Can't give 5 stars as i haven't built it yet.On opening the kit it looks great.... clean moldings.Looking forward to making this..... a nice addition to my stash.
