I previously had an Arrow hand operated stapler. Probably the best hand operated money can buy. But it wouldn't sink 12mm staples into the hard wood frame of my couch when I can to re cover it. Also I didn't fancy the idea of putting I 1500 staples with it as I would have needed arms like Popeye!. So I purchased this Tacwise pneumatic stapler. I was desperate for a tool capable of doing the job and reliably sinking staples every time into the hard wood. I had my doubts as I waited for it to be delivered. But I need not have worried. This stapler put the 1500 staples in really quickly and didn't fail to sink a single one. I'm gob smacked as to how good this tool is.So good in fact that I have also bought the Tacwise 16 gauge finishing nail gun. If I had to criticise, I would say that the hinges and fasteners on the blown plastic case could be better, but the fact that it comes with a case is really something to be thankful for and you even get a small bottle of oil. So I don't want to dwell on the case. The finish on the tool is good and feels great quality. Dare I say that I even had great fun using it!. Yep.. I said it.. I really enjoyed using a stapler.. I need to get out more.. If you are thinking of buying one, you won't be disappointed. I used it at about 80 - 85 psi from a small 24 litre compressor and I bet I got a few hundred shots at least before the compressor kicked in to re charge. My air line is 6.5mm internal diameter so I doubt you would need to make any changes to any compressor equipment you already have. It comes fitted with a euro style hi flo bayonet fitting (which I personally prefer) so bare that in mind if you have the other type of fittings. Easy to change though if you need to. Hope this review helps.Read full review...

Requires only 60psi to run and is very lightweight (compressor may not be!) Runs off 140 staples (4 - 14mm leg length with 2 millimeter increments) and is suitable for professional extended use. The staple gun has a short trigger and is easy and fast to operate. Hundreds of staples can be run off with maximum power and minimal time and effort. The magazine is loaded at the bottom as with any typical stapler. The nose features a slender design with a safety trigger to ensure that staple gun is not used unintentionally. However this does require the user to manually rotate the safety into the off state when finished. This does not protect against firing into the air or against careless use.The stapler runs off an air line to a compressor so you need one of these already. There are plenty of other electric staple guns which don't need this equipment so you have to ask yourself if this investment is really justified. A pneumatic staple gun can be more accurate and faster than an electric gun but require a heavy compressor to carry around with you. On the whole a pneumatic gun will only be useful to someone who uses staple guns as part of a regular work function who will benefit from cost savings and performance over a long period of time. The stapler is ideal for use on aluminium loft insulation wehre large numbers of staples need to be applied in a short space of time whilst at the same time trying to hold up the insulation. It is also designed for carpet fitting when applying underlay.ConclusionThe safety features could be improved and this should really only be used by a professional tradesperson. The stapler is fast, powerful and effective at what it does.

I received this for review purposes thinking it might be a handy tool to have around the house for and sudden heavy duty stapling emergencies. Well, you never know...Sadly, and rather dimly of me, I hadn't really thought it through and didn't realise one needs an air compressor to attach this to before it can be used!Obvious to those in the know, but maybe not to the casual buyer. On the other hand, this feels like a semi-professional tool at the least and, as such, isn't really aimed at the casual buyer! The construction is pleasingly robust, and also pretty light to hold, and it comes with a fairly large supply of staples to get you started.Fortunately, I have a friend who's an avid hobbyist and has used such a tool before.Once we hooked it up to the air supply we tested it by stapling some canvas to wood. This makes life very easy. The trigger is fairly light (so be careful!) and the staples fly into the wood with gusto, stapling deep and tight. So, although not really aimed at the layman, this is useful tool for any heavy stapling needs and will, accordingly, save you a lot of time and energy! For those without an "air supply", Tacwise do a very good electric stapler which is also effortless and cheaper than this too.Judging it by functionality though, this can't really be faulted.(As others have mentioned, there isn't really a "safety" on it though, so obviously keep it away from small hands!).

I got this for a relative and he was really pleased with the performance of it:I was pleasantly surprised to feel how light this was compared to a mechanical staple gun I had. This makes a big difference when holding the gun for a long time. Whilst this is ideally an upholstery gun it has plenty of other DIY uses and if you have a need to staple over head, the lighter tacker is a must.It packs a decent punch and it is very fast to use. I have a large 50lt air compressor so I can punch staples all day with no effort on my behalf other than pulling the trigger and this really saves straining my forearm from squeezing the lever on a mechanical stapler.I have used it mostly for repairs to furniture for recycling and it secures the fabric to a satisfactory degree.I haven't had a misfire yet and I have gone through most of the supplied 2000 staples and haven't had a jam yet. I did have a few staples buckle, but that is a fraction of a percentage and some of those were because I was firing before being tight onto the wood, I had hit a knot, hard ply or a hidden staple under the fabric..A neat little gun packed into a medium impact resistant plastic box for convenient storage. I wish I had thought of buying one years ago.

This is a well built, solid air stapler - the build quality hits you as soon as you pick it up - it's clear that it is built to take the roughest of treatment, as you'd expect from a professional air tool. You'll need a compressor to use it and it comes supplied with 2000 Tacwise 140/8mm staples, and some lubricating oil. The obvious uses for a tool like this are upholstery, picture framing or putting up garden netting or wire fencing - basically any job where it doesn't matter that the finished staple is on show, where it is not going to show or where it is going to be covered later. As others have noted, unlike many other air tools there is no safety feature requiring you to press the gun against the work before firing. So in theory there is a risk that staples could be ejected in mid air, but I don't think this is a serious risk - a nail is much more of a projectile, but a staple wouldn't I think get very far or cause much in the way of damage if ejected into mid-air, and like any tool you need to use it sensibly. I expect putting such a feature onto a stapler would increase the possibility of jams anyway so I'd rather it not be there to be honest. Very much recommended, especially at the Amazon price.

I have two (2) Tacwise Z1-140 which works very well. Until today when I received this one, I thought they were very easy to use. Well now I have experienced this one, it seems the other ones will be relegated to the store room unless the work requires that we use more than one Stapler. It came with 2000 staples (140 type) and I already had over 5,000 I purchased for the Z1 140 Stapler. This is effortless, even with a lot of stapling it just feels like one is playing with a toy yet it is firing staples deep into wood. I am using this for a lot of upholstery works around the house and some other DIY works. One other nice thing is it's really light. It has it's own housing which is capable of holding one or two boxes of staples,s carrying it around without losing staples is not a problem. I would advice to thoroughly use the short User Guide on how to use the tool. I could not have managed if there were no instructions, and it can be dangerous without the safety tips, as this shoots staples very easily. You need to invest in a Compressor if you do not have one already. For heavy duty work, where a lot of stapling is needed, this would save time and energy.Highly recommended.

This is a great piece of kit compact and light. Ideal for many stapling jobs that can be carried out in a in a workshop / plus with a small compressor ideal for carpet tacking / underlay / picture frame repairs. As I said the unit is very light and fits in hand perfectly mine is fitted to a small portable compressor not my large one as the air usage is minimal. As usual with tacwise products the tacker is well made. The only down side is the safety feature there isn't one I. E as you pull the trigger it will fire whether in contact with the work peice or in the air it will fire but in competent hands that should be no problem. All said this is a great tool and glad I bought it.Update re - safety feature there is a little piece of metal which slides between the trigger and the metal body which stops the unit firing. But as I say the stapler fires as soon as the trigger is squeezed if this piece of metal is not in place. But all said its a brilliant piece of kit and well worth the money.

I believe this is a new addition to the line up of air tools from Tacwise, It takes the same staples (T140) as my hammer tacker, but it beats the pants off it for performance and accuracy of placing staples, its very quick and doesn't waste any air.The machine itself is of robust construction which is what I have come to expect from Tacwise, it is light and well balanced. It is perhaps in need of more care than my hammer tacker since it only requires light pressure on the trigger to send a 14mm staple deep into wood. There is a safety device on the trigger, but once disengaged, the tool will fire off staples when its not in contact with any material, so as with any power tool,be careful where its pointed! There are other staplers in the range which are also capable of firing nails, there is a model which will take rounded staples for cabling but I think it has a limited use due to the need of a compressor - or a very long air hose?A very good piece of Kit.JC

Tacwise really are delivering some top quality staple guns lately, this being no exception. We use on a daily basis a ton of compressor guns for stapling large book spines for fabric samples or wallpaper, so we need guns which can delivery power and speed. Over the last few years we have stuck to one brand, but they are showing signs of wear and tear and look old.So we decided to give this one a go. So far it has been excellent. The build quality is fantastic, its solid, heavy enough to be stable in the hand and light enough to use with speed. I noticed a review regarding the lack of security on it. Whilst it does only feature a trigger lock, it should be securely locked away when not used.I know several guns only feature the trigger lock, some do feature a non surface cut off but these tend to be a bit more expensive.Despite it not being compatible with our current staples for our existing guns, we see this as a great replacement...

I already have one Tacwise gun and I bought my father another one. I like their products, sturdy, work well and don't cost the earth to buy. I used this unit with my father's compressor and it worked very well. I didn't have any projects to hand but just trying it out on a variety of wooden surfaces and a few different materials it worked very well. The only issue I can think of, that others have mentioned, is that there is no safety mechanism. You must be extremely careful not to catch the trigger or allow anyone "mess" about near this device as it will happily "spit" out staples. I appreciate that it's a tool and anyone buying it will appreciate that any power tool is dangerous but safety should always be part of any design.I docked a star purely based on the fact that at the very least it should have a "dead man's lock" on the trigger ( you need to hold two separate triggers to make it fire ), an easy thing to design in.

I've used Tacwise electrical tackers for years and they just don't seem to wear out. Then I wanted something lighter but if anything, more powerful for work conducted in one place. Realised I had a compressor, but had never considered using an air stapler. Acquired the Tacwise air stapler and then wondered why on earth, unless I wanted to staple things over big distances, I'd ever stuck with my electrical Tacwise Stapler for such work. Seems lighter, more powerful and if anything, even tougher. I work with the Emmaus social enterprise for homeless folks ([...]) and they aid their recovery by learning new work skills, producing saleable products and and so becoming self-financing.I'll be equipping a new workshop with Tacwise Air Staplers. And perhaps that's the best recommendation of all.

This Air Stapler/Tacker is solid, is of good build quality, and it does a fine job. How do I know this? I've just re-upholstered my existing 4-seater sofa with a more modern fabric (the sofa is eight years old, and the frame is still sound) and the resulting job looks lovely. My partner is VERY pleased and now thinks I'm a DIY expert!Thing is taking the old material off and then the tacking on the new material took me know time at all, and the staples penetrated the frame of the sofa with ease. Took me very little time to do (don't tell my partner, who was out at the time) and the beaming smile on my lovely lady's face when it was completed was a sight to behold.A little expensive perhaps, but you need not worry about its worthiness. It's a very worthy item indeed.

It's unfortunately been a 'summer of DIY' in my house, and this is the most powerful, most impressive Tacwise product I have used by miles (the others being manual cable tackers and staplers). It really lightened the workload. It's lightweight enough to use above your head for extended periods without feeling like your arm will drop off, and although it looks solidly professional and provides quality it is also easy enough for the layman to learn to use in under an hour. It did not jam once and I am super pleased with the results. It really is worth paying a little more and getting an Air gun tacker; it doesn't leave your hand aching like the manual ones, and the results are so much more even (not to mention you get the job done much faster!).Would recommend.

We went to a diy outlet and hired a small compressor so we could use this staple gun - the winter storms have played havoc with the garden downing/damaging quite a lot of fencing and frames.I will admit it when it was hooked up it fired the staples with such force that they were well and truly embedded in the wood, but ... there is NO SAFETY SWITCH.This seems to be an issue with all the Tacwise diy items we have. The trigger is very light and the slightest touch made the stapler fire, so I am extremely concerned that there is no safety switch to protect users from accidentally firing the machine and hurting the user or another person nearby. This is a very powerful tool but the lack of safetyswitches on the Tacwise is a growing concern.

This is my third Tacwise product and again I'm really pleased with the quality and feel of the product, this compact but sturdy stapler really packs a punch driving the staples provided staples down with precision. It's really lightweight in use and allows you to get into tight corners with ease.Unfortunately like a lot of the other reviews have pointed out this stapler is seriously let down by the lack of safety features. I like to encourage and get my boy involved in DIY projects but this isn't a tool i will be using around him.Other than the safety aspect this is another good product from Tacwise, the case it comes in houses the stapler, decent supply of staples,a small container of oil and the instructions.
