We bought this cat flap to help manage our new arrivals (I recently chipped adult cat and a kitten). It's a premium price but this was well worth it. We've got two adult cats and a kitten. We can now give all three cats freedom of the house without worrying that the kitten can get out. As a result the adult cats are happier and the human adults don't have to juggle opening and closing so many doors.There is a small risk the kitten could tail-gate another cat and escape but that would be a risk with any product and is impossible to eliminate completely.It was easy to fit as the hole cut in our back door for our old Staywell cat flap was the perfect size. The holes were slightly different so I had to drill two new ones.

I've not a star off because, if the cat isn't in the right position, on one side, the latch doesn't release but for stopping other cats coming in, it is well worth the money.I initially had the 'one way' one but a neighbours cat worked out that if t got its claw underneath the door, it could pull it towards him! So been an expensive experience and I'm sure thinks I have a 'thing' for cat flaps but if you in two minds which one to get, then go for the dual and save yourself some money.It's very easy to set up, ( a point, you CAN NOT use rechargeable batteries in it) you just press the small button for a second and the little light flashes until your cat goes through.

My vet suggested I buy a cat flap that reads microchips in order to just allow one of my cats to come and go as he wants. He's quite a stressed boy living as part of a 5 cat family and he loves being outside. He's peeing inappropriately inside the house and my vet thought this might help. My husband installed the cat flap with (what seemed to me) relative ease. The cat flap comes with instructions on measuring which was massively useful. It was also easy to programme the cat flap with just the one chip. Please read those carefully. As this particular cat was nervous we do use the disc that comes with the cat flap to give him an easier chance of it picking up either his disc or his chip,

After fretting for months and reading the bad reviews I eventually took the plunge and bought the Sureflap Microchip cat flap.I have 2 cats but only Captain Sensible is allowed outside. Took a little while to get her to use it. A lot of my time & her treats were spent by the flap. My husband thought I had won the lottery when she first used it by herself. Proud mother indeed.My other cat, Mr Clever-Clogs is not allowed out. He is very clever but not when it come to roads and cars) so I thought he would have worked some way to get out , possibly hot on the tail of Captain Sensible as she wiggles through the hole,

This is a very neat cat flap which was easy to fit and to programme.Despite the electronics it is no bigger than our old cat flap which relied on collar magnets. Unlike the old cat flap puss didn't get locked out the house every time he managed to escape from his collar. We upgraded to this flap as we were looking after my sons house cats who are not allowed outside. The really good thing with this model is that I can program it to read our own cat's microchip and he can go in and out as he pleases and at the same time I have programmed it so that our guest cats cannot get out but if they do escape they can come back in.It works a treat.

The cat flap was easy to install, with the assistance of a jigsaw to cut the hole in the wooden door, and easy to set up to recognise the cat's microchip. She has used it with problems and it is easy to change the settings (for example, to allow the cat to come in but not back out). Our original unit developed a fault after six months, and their website was helpful in terms of advice on how to fix it. When it became clear that the fault was more serious, I was extremely impressed with the customer service from Sureflap. I contacted them on a Friday to report the issue (battery draining too quickly) and a replacement unit arrived on Monday!

Would give this a full 5-stars however the battery indicator does not seem to work on mine, I get no warning until it stops working properly and just locks/unlocks constantly (really annoying if in bed as is quite noisy). So I have to be on top of battery charging, particularly as the other drawback is that the twin scanner seems to run batteries down somewhat quickly but not excessively so. Otherwise excellent product, keeps out unwanted cats effectively, which the entry scanning only version failed to do. Preventing exit for a particular cat would also be useful in certain circumstances if I had more than one cat.

Very good cat flap, it was easy to install and easy to program to our cats chip. It works without fault, our 7 month old cat had it worked out in no time and now he knows to wait for the click before pushing the flap open. It is quick at recognising the chip which allows our cat to go through it at speed if he is so inclined. I like the way you can set it to entry or exit only, very handy, and obviously it can also be locked both ways or open both ways if required. All in all a great cat flap, can't comment on battery life at this time as only had it in use for a month or so.

I had a Sureflap microchip cat flap already, but not one that could be programmed to prevent particular cats going out. My daughter brought a new kitten to visit for a few days. He wasn’t allowed out so I needed a dual scan catflap in a hurry. This one fitted exactly where the other one was so was easy to install. I ordered it using Amazon Prime and took delivery less than 24 hours later. Very pleased with the product which does exactly what I wanted and stopped my daughter worrying herself sick that her kitten would escape and get lost!

Easy to fit and set up with our three cats. Whilst not tested I am pleased that if an indoor cat is not on the outgoing list it cannot get out. Other units I looked at only controlled the entry of listed cats. Also if you have an indoor cat you must programme the sureflap to allow the indoor cat in thus helping if the cat escapes it can get in. On the down side the mechanism does clonk when activated which has and still causes the cats a bit of a problem especially one I have that is a bit nervous. Overall very pleased with the product.

This cat flap fit in the gap left by the old one so was easy to install. I like the fact that you program the unit before fitting it to the door as this is a lot easier than trying to get the cats to cooperate. Being a dual scan unit I have it set to allow my adult cat free access both ways whislt stopping the kittens getting out (yet). It took a few attempts before my cat felt comfortable using it, the clicking sound when it unlocks had her backing away but she soon got the hang of it. Overall I am very pleased with this item.

This is a brilliant product.I have a 15 year old 5kg cat who has always used a cat flap so when we got 2 kittens I was worried how to keep them safe without depriving our old boy of his freedom. The kittens watch my cat leave but when they try to follow, find the cat flap has locked keeping them safe in the house.My only complaint is that they only make the dual scan in the small size and, as my kittens are Maine Coons, by the time they are old enough to go out this rather expensive cat flap will be too small for them to use.

This is briliant. I have 5 cats and need to keep the 2 younger ones in.It was so easy to instal, I already had the pet safe microchip cat flap that runs on mains. There is one big flaw in this dual cat flap. One of the kittens has figured out that he can push the latch down which allows the flap to open and now he can escape. So although the latch flips down when it recognises a registered microchip it can be pushed down. Several sleepless nights when we couldn't figure our how he was getting out.

Fit so easily as we'd had a stay well flap before in a uPVC door so only had to drill new screw holes. Coaxed the cats to eat biscuit treats on the flap so it would register their microchips which was easy enough. However Had to leave it set on open 2 days as it was strange to our 2 cats and didn't smell of them but after that it was fine. Brought our new cat addition home 2 days later and they can go out with no intervention from us and she can't go out. Perfect. Flap is well made.

I was recommended this because my 2 very nervous cats were being 'terrorised' by a neighbourhood 'bully' who kept coming in and not only eating their food but also sleeping in their beds! Within a week of replacing the old cat flap with this one, the transformation in my cats has been amazing - they are now so chilled! And I am not getting through as much cat food as I did previously! It is really easy to install and I would highly recommend it
