A fine well made tool for opening and closing bike chain master links. Saves needing 2 tools, one to open and another to close.It looks odd, but this has no impact on usability or, even, storage in your pack if you want to take it with you.You might do that, because it's light and with a master link it will get you fixed up in minutes. Imagine it's winter and your freezing cold fingers are slipping on a wet greasy broken chain trying in vain to close a new master link to fix it. Or, perhaps they're slipping on an unbroken chain jammed, but not broken in a damaged mech.And you're on your own miles from your car.Without this you'll likely as not have a long push home,

Very pleased with this tool, half the price of the similar Shimano tool which is too expensive for occasional use.BUT, like some other reviewers I had to file away the stop with a small round file to achieve enough movement to close a Shimano Quick Link on a Shimano HG701-11 chain. Once this was done (only a few minutes if you have the tools!) it worked fine and as intended.When I removed all the oil from the old chain I was surprised to find it did not have a Quick Link, but instead had a pin which had to be pressed out - luckily I had a normal chain splitter to do this. Therefore I did not use the tool under review to split the old chain. Might be useful info to someone......

This is a great tool which makes removing & re-joining KMC Missing Links (and probably other link types) an absolute doddle. It's made even easier by using the same squeezing action (but different prongs) for both operations, and the two sets of prongs are even labelled 'Remove' and 'Connect' for your convenience! The only reason I havn't given it 5/5, is that the tool is a little pricey. But having bought it, the time it will save you is well worth it. This is especially true if your link is a little dirty or gritty, which makes it more difficult to shift with conventional tools.

A superb 2 in 1 tool. It works perfectly, does the jobs intended. This tool combines two tool that are normally used at the same time, it saves toolbox room in doing so, and meansI have been struggling with quick links for years, and been thinking about buying tools open and close them. These tools are normally one tool for each job, and each tool costing the same price as this one.What wins this for me is that this two in one tool is half the price of two individual tools.

These work very well, the compact design means that you only need the one pair to securely fasten and unfasten your quick links. While this is possible to do by hand it can be a struggle and can be messy if you're taking the chain off for a good clean.These simple but robust pliers make the job very quick, easy and you can be confident that your quick link is secure.Given the reasonable cost I bought them for convenience and piece of mind. I wasn't disappointed.

Excellent tool. Has two in one - both close a link and open a link. I love this because it saves all that fiddling about with quick release chain links. I struggled for twenty minutes to do this and gave up, ordered with Prime and was up and running in the three seconds it took to align the link and click it together with this tool.I then had to undo the link and it was equally as simple and quick to undo it with the Open action.Brilliant.

I mistakenly closed my KMC 11 speed quick links before measuring my new chain length properly, and realised it was too long. I spent at least half an hour trying every trick in the book to open them up again to no avail. I gave up and ordered these, they arrived a little over 12 hours later and the tiniest of squeezes opened the links. Don't know why I didn't buy these years ago.

Really useful little tool. Had to use the other day for the first time, and definitely made it easier to undo and redo the quick links (there's a mis-nomer if ever there was one!). Will probably detach my chain completely for cleaning next time, thanks to this tool, rather than trying to clean on the bike. Felt was slightly expensive, hence reason for 4 stars instead of five

Looking at the videos on how to deal with SRAM type links using only the hands, and trying it 'on the bench', I soon came to the conclusion that there must be an easier way. This product is the ideal solution, and the link can be replaced in a matter of seconds. I tie a crank to the down tube to stop the crank turning under the weight of the chain whilst replacing the chain.

Okay I admit it...I should have bought this straight away..So easy to use... the right tool for the right job!!Been using scissors, modified pliers... etc.Forget it.. buy one of these.. won't regret it..Quick link is fantastic.. take chain off.. clean it no problem anymore..

Hooks in between links...gentle squeeze...click and all done. For the price this is very good indeed and easier to use that the ones that you have to pull the leavers apart. I am now able to remove and install chains at will with minimal time and fuss. Excellent product.

Works really well, easily separated my SRAM 11 speed chain with quick links, also allowed me to quickly stretch the links out without using the pedals which is required by most of the other pliers on the market.

Really great. After spending ages and nearly losing the will to live trying to join a 'quick' link this did the job in seconds. It is dead simple to use and invaluable for the cost. Get one and keep your sanity.

Doesn't look particularly heavy duty (so I'm not so sure about it for day in day out use), but it absolutely works to separate locking chain links instantly. At the price, really pleased with it.

If you have a master link connector use this. So much easier than narrow pliers! Putting the link on is OK without this as the pedal pressure will join the link but for removal excellent.
