I am something of a suduko addict. Suduko is one of the reasons I bought the DSi.Before buying this game I used the suduko part of the Brain Training program, and the downloaded free Sudoko 150 game from Hudson. Suduko Master is also from Hudson, something I was not aware of when I bought it. Unfortunately the free game has one feature that this game lacks. There are plenty of puzzles, several hundred at least, at differing levels. Easy puzzles take me 5-10 mins. intermediate 15-20 mins. and hard 25-40 mins. Of course times are dependant on both thinking speed and how fast you punch in the numbers with the stylus. The game scores you out of 4 stars for easy, out of 5 for intermediate and out of 6 stars for hard.Your score is tallied and when you reach certain numbers new puzzles are opened up including challenge levels. The scoring creates an amount of stress which I am not sure I appreciate, but which is hard to turn off mentally. When I get stuck I start thinking about the clock ticking. The game plays very similar to the downloadable Hudson 150 game. Everything is entered with the stylus, on the touch screen. You select a square. You select whether to enter a number in the full square or one of the 4 available notation spots. And you press the number. When you select a square it highlights the 3x3 square and the line and column that square shares. If you select a square twice quickly that has been filled in then all numbers of that denomination are highlighted (e.g. all 7's). Unfortunately you cannot have all selected numbers highlighted at the same time as you highlight the line and column. This is something you can do in the free game and it is a pity it isn't in this game.As mentioned the game only has 4 available notations pr square whereas Brain Training suduko has 9. I have so far not had a problem with that, but if you like to make note of all possible numbers for every square it will be a problem. The game does not allow more than one profile. So you cannot track progress of several players. All in all an excellent suduko game that I can recommend to anyone who hasn't already got more than enough suduko titles. There is room for improvement.

There are several aspects of this game which make it stand out from other sudoku games. There are two methods for completing the grids, by touching a number pad (this is extremely helpful as a number becomes greyed out when it has been entered in the grid 9 times), or by writing in with the stylus. So you can choose which method suits you best. There are 10 practice sessions where an incorrect entry comes up red which is very good for beginners. There are 400 puzzles ranging from practice, easy, normal and hard and a time record and scoring is kept so you can go back and repeat a puzzle to try and improve on your score. Hours of fun!! You can highlight numbers and lines in the grid to make it easier to see where you have completed. All in all, I totally love this version of sudoku and would recommend it 100% to both sudoku fans and newcomers to sudoku alike.

Before I bought this, I had virtually never played Sudoku. Now I am completely addicted! I've worked my way through the practice and easy levels and have now nearly finished the Normal level (which has 190 grids once you unlock them all). I have a feeling I am going to struggle with the Hard level though. I can thoroughly recommend it for beginners and intermediate level players. Though possibly expert players might not find enough to challenge them.If I had to make any criticism, it would be that the numbers you can "pencil" in are so small, they are quite hard to read. But that's a minor detail. The hours of mind-stretching fun I've had so far, has made this a brilliant purchase.

I previously did Sudoku on the Brain Training software, which I really enjoyed. When I had used up all the games on those I looked around for a replacement - can't get to sleep until I have finished at least one game. Some reviews of the Sudoku Master were are bit scathing, saying that it was not a patch on the Brain Training, which I totally disagree with. It takes a little getting used to the different way of playing but it is basic, easy to grasp and a joy to use. Only thing is that I found the numbers a little on the small size, especialy when you put in corner reminder numbers. Perhaps I should save up for one of those larger Nintendo consuls. Overall - great value.

The game cannot be faulted at all in providing exactly what is expected - a large number of Su Doku puzzles with an initial tutorial mode for those unfamiliar with the puzle , going all the way up to quite difficult . Game times are kept , and there is a star system based on how quickly the puzzles are completed . Completing the grid is by either writing the numbers in the boxes , or tapping on a panel beside the grid .There is space to actually 'pencil' in suggestions for numbers in boxes - I have done this when doing the puzzle in newspapers for instance .So . It's pretty low on frills , but you get what you want - heaps of puzzles !

I received this game for Mother's Day and really enjoy it. I already had Brain Training, so it took a little bit of time to adjust to the differences between them. My only complaint is that the background is constantly moving.Initially it was very distracting and tiring on the eyes, and I felt a bit headachy if I played to long, though I think I'm now getting used to it. But I would prefer it not to be there. You are able to change the colour but not get rid of the spinning question marks completely!I would still recommend it to fellow Sudoku solvers.

I would have to say that given all of the sudoku games being produced, this one is second easiest to play (other than Brain Age). But then again, you don't have to go through the Brain Age interface to get to play sudoku.Would be better with random puzzle generation, as once you've beaten them all you can only better your times or reset the whole thing.I play it all the time - it will stay in my game library!

an excellent version of the game with an easy to use interface, the coloured bar highlights both row and column making it easy to see the numbers that are in both and to help avoid making duplicate number mistakes, although some of the puzzles in each section are a lot harder than they should be for the section that their in. It is well worth getting regardless of your level.

This is a great game and it doesn't matter how bad your handwritting is cos you can play without ever writing a number!!!Only problem is if you are buying a second hand copy I have not found a way to delete the previous persons record. All the games are still open and you can fully enjoy it so it is not a realy problem but if you like to track yourself you need a new copy.

Very good but not quite as good as the sudoku incorporated in the Brain Training game which came with the Nintendo DS Lite, but having said that it is still well worth the money. The main reason for this is that it only allows one to put in 6 numbers (for hints) whereas the Brain Training game one allows one to put in 9.

Getting on years (80Plus) it had to be quite easy to use and it worked, I am very pleased with it, there are all type of levels, so start at the basic's and work up, so it suited all my needs and the price was very good, it is a very good buy to pass the odd hour or two, simple or master your choice.

Like the level of game difficulty. Would like the option to remove the reminder numbers automatically when the full number is entered. It would have been better if the grid filled the screen more as on Brain Training.Good Sudoku though and well worth the money.

I LOVE this game. It's fun and stimulating whether I have 15 minutes or an hour of free time. With a variety of levels of difficulty, it will be a long time before I need to buy another Sudoku game. Well worth the money!!

I like Sudoku hence I find this a good alternative to endless books that eventually get thrown away. I find the whole think a way to keep the grey matter ticking over.

Enjoy game using Nintendo DX XL, but screen of Nintendo DX Lite is too small for it. My 75 year old eyes resulted in mistakes every time I used the Lite.
