Style Boutique is easily my favourite game on the DS, and three years on I'm still playing it.Girls of all ages can enjoy this game; I am in my early twenties and not at all embarrassed to admit that I love it!You begin the game as an employee at a local boutique. You are taught how to judge individual customers' tastes and serve them accordingly. As you improve, you are offered your very own boutique, that you can name and decorate as you please. You are even given an assistant, although her presence is largely irrelevant; she does not actually serve the customers. You must do all the work and all she has to contribute are a few tips, and occasional comments on how attractive she finds a particular male character.Don't worry, you don't pay her. I assume she collects her wages from your former boss, who you can visit for tips and advice whenever you want. You can buy store music, store layouts, and stock space for your boutique, and, when you have decided that you have mastered all the different styles and trends, you can enter a contest. There are many different styles of dress and you must be able to identify each style, as your customers will walk into your boutique and ask you to choose something for them. They may ask for a particular type of top (such as a T Shirt or cami), a pair of trousers, a particular type of skirt (long or mini), shoes, or an accessory, and you must guess the brand of clothing that the customer is wearing, and bring them an item from that brand. However, sometimes a customer appears to be wearing a mix of brands, and it gets a little trickier. Some of the styles in the game include: Punk, "Feminine and mature," Gothic, Lolita (a style in Japan), Asian, old-fashioned, urban, glamorous, sporty, vintage, and cute. The more you play the game, the more you will learn the tastes of your customers, as you will get repeat customers that you will serve again and again. It can get a little tedious at times, when certain customers come in every day asking for the same item. I cannot tell you how many times in the last few days Genevieve has asked for a cardigan, or Missy has asked for a pair of "modern-looking trousers." It doesn't matter if you offer the same item to a customer that she bought yesterday. It still counts. You can buy stock from the Exhibition Hall, and everything you buy for your boutique also goes into your own wardrobe in your apartment, for you to wear whenever you want. You will probably have a style that you like best, so you can decorate your boutique with a layout that attracts customers wanting that style; for example, if you like the punk look, you can purchase a dark layout for your shop complete with chains, spikes, voodoo dolls, guitars, and music posters. You can also purchase fitting store music.Additionally, you can purchase makeup from the beauty salon, change your hair style and colour, and go out with your customers (who become your friends) to fill up your photo album. There are even more things you can do, such as design items for the brands you sell most of (although this just consists of changing colours of existing items, and more often than not you are given the same item to "design" again and again); send out leaflets advertising particular items; and dress the mannequins in your shop window. Customers will be attracted by these mannequins, and may even purchase the whole outfit. All in all, a very fun game that can be enjoyed for hours at a time. There are many different customers with their own personalities, and three years on I'm still getting brand new customers. The only thing that can get a bit tiresome is that the customers tend to use exactly the same phrases - after serving a dozen people, hearing the same exclamations of delight can be repetitive. Still, a very addictive game that you will likely not be able to turn off.

I *love* this game! ...but played it for 9 hrs solidly when I first got it without even realising where the time went!Starts off a bit slow whilst teaching you the basics of buying new stock and satisfying customer demands etc... then you get your own boutique and the fun starts.Great fun creating new display models and if you create an outfit from one designer that is popular with your customers, you often sell the complete outfit at once making more money.Choose the interior of your shop according to the designers you want to sell most of. If you sell enough from one designer, you are offered the chance to create your own design.Sounds better than it is because you only choose the colours for an existing design but the customers get very excited when you sell them one of your own design. The limit to the overall number of items you can stock can be limiting but you can increase it by going to Dominic's mansion and fulfilling the criteria stated - i.e. buy a certain number of items from the Exhibition hall.Competitions are fun but I found them easily won and there are only a few levels of this.Overall it is a bit of a shame it is completed so quickly but you can continue to play. Just make sure you don't have any pressing engagements, (like work) to get in the way!

And I must say there have been times where I haven't put this marvel down. It is one of the best games I have bought, but I had to give it an overall rating of four stars because:-It was very addictive for a months and way after I completed it.-But it did get tiresome after around 6weeks.-And I put it down for AGES after I had made the maximum amount of profit...I wanted to continue playing but I didn't see the point and I don't have the motivation to play otherwise. I mainly set goals to get £50,000...then £75,000 and it was no fun once I got to £99,999, so if you buy this...DON'T SET ALVORADO!...The game will finish fast. =(I would love to pick this up again some point and start a new game but I need a break.Hope this helps you and I think you should buy it, you won't be disappointed. It was my own fault that the game was over quickly for selling expensive clothes, but if you sell cheap ones you'll have a great time for a long time. :)

My Niece has this game and was showing me whilst at her home, my Sister in law admitted that she liked playing it as well, it did look good and being a young at heart girly girl myself I thought I would buy it and see for myself, as a middle aged woman I thought it would be far to young a game for me, but was pleasantly surprised when I spent several hours playing it and craved more, its very addictive and I have found myself playing into the early hours not being able to put it down.A game I think would suit any age, probably more suited to females but no reason why males couldnt play it.A real lengthy game, not one that you play for an hour and have completed, there is many many hours play in this one making it really good value for money, and when you have completed it there is no reason you cant do it all over again.Well worth the money if you like fashion, I would say buy it now.

I got this DS game for my birthday and to be honest wasn't particularly sure if I really did want it. However, after playing on it for about 15 minutes I realised how wrong I was. This game is very addictive! There are so many things that you can do such as: choosing your outfits own to wear, having your hair done, buying make-up, entering fashion contests, meeting customer needs, changing your shop interior and shop music, clothing mannequins in the window, putting on sales, creating and mailing out leaflets and of course going to the exhibitions and purchasing clothes for your shop! This game feels like you could play it over and over and not get bored, you can use any clothing combinations you like. It's fantastic!

I wanted this game for a while and when i got it i was not dissapointed. You start by working in Primavera and helping cutmers find clothes to buy. Quickly you move to having your own shop. You have to buy stock from the exhibition centre, Style your manikins, as well as serving customers. You can compete in competitions to see who has the best style and there is a beautition and hairdresser to change your look. You also get to be a guest designer for some of the brands. There are a few flaws though. Customers keep coming back wanting the same things time and time again. Your store also can't earn more than £999,999. It's a little irritating. But it's atill a fun game.

I really love this game. It is really addictive and I love all the clothes, some of them I wish I could wear myself! My 8 year old daughter loves it too, it really is suitable for any age. The game goes by the DS internal clock, so it follows the seasons and knows what day of the week it is. When you get your own Boutique, it can get a bit more difficult and some customers are harder to please than others. The only criticisms I have are that you are only allowed 8 characters for the name of your Boutique and also the game doesn't have a left handed option, as you hold the DS like a book, (I am left handed). Would definitely recommend this game though.

To be honest, when i first seen the game advertised, i thought of it as nothing special. I got this game yesterday and have played it for hours on end, right up until my hand was hurting so much from the strain! The only thing that i don't like about the game, is when it's a Sunday and you aren't able to have clothes delivered to your store until Monday.I guess i could probably get round it by changing the settings on my ds, which im really thinking about trying as i'm running VERY LOW on clothes! But overall, it's a really fun game. I think it's suitable for people of all age ranges.

I really love this game, still haven't finished it but it is really good. Most people would think this game is for kids but I think its quite a mature game! As I have seen from some of the reviews I'm definitely not alone! It really feels like you have your own little boutique, it's so cute. If you love fashion and sometimes a little bit of challenge with picky customers then you'll love it! It's a long game as I've been playing for a few days now and still haven't finished, obviously i'm only playing it for maybe 30mins-1hr at a time, but you may be different haha! Highly recommend!xx

I got this game for my birthday a week ago and I have been playing it ever since! I really like it and it is so addictive! I have won 4 fashon contests. Some of the customers are hard to deal with and some are easy. Sometimes someone comes to your shop and asks you to be a guest designer. You can decide whether you want to or not. If you say yes you can design the colour of the dress, top, etc. You can never get bored with this game and as you can see i really like it. This is a must have for girls that love shopping, designing, and FASHION!!!!!

This is a great game to buy got it last year for my birthday and im still playing :) So much to do and its very fun changing hairstyles and dressing her up !! This is a great game for girls any age and is very easy to work. When your playing you can go to contest and enter your styles you can also go out and visit the beautican and hairdresser you can also go to places when your customers ask you to and you can buy new stock at the exhibition hall.Time flys when you play on it,I recomend it greatly this is a great BUY!!!

Very good. Slightly addictive but still great. One of the best things is that it continues even when you have completed all the fashion contests, and unlike other fashiongames doesn't make you stop. it comes with a great deal, if you buy the pink dsi you recieve a game with it. Also, it starts you of by working in grace's boutiqueand you soon get your own so you get some experiance. It is also very clever by noticing if you haven't been on for a while! (but sometimes it can be good to get some distance)DEFINATE 5/5

This is an addictive and fun game and I've been playing it for hours on end. Yes the competitions are easy to win but I held off entering them for a long time, content to be satisfying my customers needs! I've passed 1000 customers and still finding it fun. The music is catchy and the profiles of the customers are quite imaginative. Sometimes it feels a bit repetative but all you do is change the interior of the shop and different customers start coming to your boutique.

Written on behalf of my 11 year old daughter - Since having this about 1 month ago my daughter choses this game first before any other DS games, so obviously it rates highly with her! She plays it for at least an hour at the time about 2-3 times a week (this is only because i nag her to get off it otherwise she'd play on it all day). I've watched her play on it and had a quick go myself and was quite impressed with it too.
