Words cannot describe how excited I was when I heard this game was being released for the PC. I queued up outside Game in the pouring rain during the early hours of the morning of release, slightly annoyed that hundreds were already there waiting in anticipation. The mad rush that ensued when Game opened their doors at 8am can only be described as carnage. Grown men were violently trampling over women and children in order to be the first to get their hands on this landmark release. I am not ashamed to say that I was among those individuals. Nothing was going to stop me after weeks of waiting.Anyway onto the game itself. If you are new to Street Cleaning Simulator (SCS) you literally haven't lived! The premise of the game is you work your way up from apprentice cleaner, and through hard work and determination become the most respected of sanitary operators in the city. Along the way you face challenges, moral dilemmas and situations which will make even the most hardened individual weep. I won't spoil the plot for you too much but let's just say there are plenty of surprises awaiting for you on your journey. I am almost envious of those people who haven't played it as I want to relive the experience over and over again. To people reading this review, I know what you're thinking. What makes SCS stand out compared to the numerous other cleaning simulators available? Well my friends, allow me to explain as I have played them all. No other game can recreate that magical moment when you first use the street sweeper to eliminate the concoction of human vomit and (presumably) dog excrement from the pavement. No other game allows you to pimp your sweeper to any design you wish. I won't give too much away but when you unlock the turbo attachment you will be pleasantly surprised ;) The biggest selling point for me though is the online mode enabling you to challenge or team up with like minded individuals around the world. I have met many new friends playing this game. Toby and Cecil, if you're reading this, yes it's me garbage_nator61 :)Performance wise SCS runs smoothly utilising the full capacity of my 2 x Nvidia GTX 980 graphics cards along with the dual intel i7 5960X 3.0Ghz 8 Core 16 Thread processors. Also be aware that 64GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666MHz RAM is highly recommended. I will warn you now, if you have anything less than this in your machine then the performance WILL struggle and you won't fully appreciate the high attention to detail demonstrated by the makers of this masterpiece. In conclusion if you enjoy RPG/Action gaming - Call of Duty, GTA, Fallout etc you won't be disappointed. Do yourself a favour and buy this game. It will be the best £6 you have ever spent.Happy sweeping fellow cleaners!

I don't even know where to begin. I've spent over 80 hours with this masterpiece of a simulator and can't wait for any upcoming DLC. You have been chosen by the mayor himself to carry a very important duty: To clean the streets of your city on your own. Having being entrusted to this vital task, I could not let the citizens down. You can feel the tension of your responsibilities as you drive down the streets with your cleaning vehicle. You have to act fast because of the time limit the mayor has imposed upon you. There is nothing more rewarding than to have removed a big, nasty piece of gum that was stuck on the sidewalk for years. This requires so much skill and technique that the gameplay just simply feels rewarding. In order to remove this gum correctly with minimum public damage, you'll have to pick your tools and cleaning chemicals carefully and accordingly. And you also need to take heed to pedestrians and traffic. It can become micro-intensive at times, but it is still fun. But it is possible to grind for the best street cleaning vehicle (the iExtreme Cleaner 2000) in the game, which can clean everything. So that one is a bit overpowered. The deeper you go into the game, the more fulfilling tasks you are assigned, such as removing bird litter from statues, picking up trash and removing graffiti. I can't stress enough this feeling of having made a difference to the city. The recent patch has allowed for online co-op play, which is even better than the single player-experience. The coordination of cleaning has never been better. I implore you to buy this gem of a game, or at least try the demo of it. Astragon Software is quickly becoming one of my top developers!

When I play games like gta, saint rows or just cause 2 there was always something that bug me, THE STREETS ARE A MESS. I never could finish those games, I simply did not understood what was the point of the point of those games. Gaming as a whole stopped making sense, it got me depressed for a while. I couldn't eat, or sleep well. I had a panic attack when I saw a gum stuck on the street but didn't have the courage to remove it. I was a loser, a nobody, just some guy who is the owner of a multi billion dollars company. My life had no purpose, until I found this game STREET CLEANING SIMULATOR. Holy cow the game is so realistic that you feel ...no you are that guy behind the wheels cleaning one corner at a time.So far I spent 422 hours 12 mins 33 seconds on this game. My wife want a divorce, because she can't understand why I put her needs on hole so that I could make sure a civilian doesn't have a gum stuck under his shoes. She also yelled at me when I told her that the day I got this game meant more to me then our wedding day. With the new co op patch I can play with my kids and punish them when they failed to clean the streets under the time limit. Cleaning the streets is serious business and I'll never forgive myself if my kids becomes doctors or professional athletes. This game isn't for everyone, this game might traumatised janitors or windows cleaner, because they will clearly realised that they didn't choose the right profession. For everybody else GET THIS GAME, that gum isn't gonna move by itself.PS forgive my spelling errors, i'm playing the game and writing the review at the same time.

i used to waste my time on games like Modern warfare, battlefield, or sports games such as fifa or F1 but when i started playing this game i knew i would never look back. Nothing could match the excitement! I never knew there was so much fun and sheer enjoyment to be had from cleaning up peoples litter they have so carelessly thrown on the floor. i like to pretend that cans, newspaper and gum are my enemies and i am some kind of hero (like a dragon slayer), who will no doubt save the day and rid the streets from rubbish. It is just so satisfying when you clear a level, i guess its the same enjoyment expressed on my mums face when she clears up after me,although a Dyson isn't as satisfying as a Schmidt Swingo 250 Road Sweeper i can still see how making cleaning a personal challenge so be so rewarding and detoxifying after playing this game. After a hard days work i often sit with some cheese and wine while cleaning the virtual streets. I have become so passionate about this game that i am considering a career change, my dream would be to clear the streets after a Saturday night. imagine ridding the streets of McDonalds containers and left over food, mixed in piss and other bodily fluids ....... heaven!

This is one of the best games currently on the market. An adrenaline-pumped adventure into the unknown unlike any other! Games like Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 and MW3 will be hard pressed to beat this game for Game of the Year 2011.Part of what makes this so spectacular is how unpredictable it is. When rounding a corner, you feel the tension as to what happens next. Will there be gum on the floor? Will a burger have been dropped? Has someone left a newspaper by the curb? I sometimes had to put the game down and go for a walk to calm myself. With such impressive and articulate missions such as "Clean the curb on Anderson street" and "Clean the curb in Market Way", it is obvious as to why you would play this game for hours at a time.On the mission "Clean the curb in Chinatown" there was a major plot twist - (WARNING: SPOILERS) there was actually different types of litter than in the rest of the game! Huge easter eggs like this make te game so worth it.The only downside is that the street cleaners sometimes go so fast they make you feel sick. If you go up to the maximum speed of 6mph then you can get a bit queesy as the world hurtled by in a blur. Can't wait for the sequel!

So I just got off a 4 day stint, working real hard cleaning the streets of Detroit of all its impurities. That's right, I'm an honest trash man. It's me you can thank for keeping Motor City a place that all of America can look up to. And when the day is done, what better way to spend my time than brushing up on the skills in a co-op game with my good buddy Russ. Now look, I don't want you all to get the wrong idea here. See, I don't always play simulators. Just ain't my thing. But Street Cleaning Simulator is just... different. The refuse animation engine they've got doing all the backend work is just about photo realistic. You can practically smell the streets, that's just how real it is.Does something for me. The boys at Central say there's talk of adding a couple Scania P270 side-loaders to our collection, come September, maybe sooner. First time I unlocked the P270, the little fuzzies all stood up. You know, the ones on the back of the neck. They all stood up at once - really was some feeling. Take it from a Pro, this here is more than just some simulator. It is a gateway to a way of life.

Look. While I for one agree that this may not be the most thrilling gaming experience, it obviously was not designed to be a 'game' but instead a simulation. If you look at the company that develops the game (Astragon), they seem to specialize in making true to life simulation of all things mundane and commonplace in a real life civic situation. So yes, while it may be enjoyable to poke fun at this game or other games they may produce, they are accomplishing the job at which they set out to accomplish. This is a simulation of what it may be like to be a street cleaner. I for one think they are doing a service by releasing games like these. In a gaming field of titles like MW and Forza and BF,it's refreshing to see that a development firm is taking interest in those games that brought us simple joys like SimCity or SimFarm, etc. This is obviously a targeted title for those people interested in Street Cleaning.I for one think they should keep on doing what they are doing.

In short, this title has renewed my faith in pc gaming. I've played many simulators over the years, but increasingly I find the genre dull and repetitive. As soon as I learned that this title was being developed, I felt a huge sense of anticipation as street cleaning is a theme which until now has been unexplored by developers and publishers alike.STREET CLEANING SIMULATOR immerses you in a rich and detailed gaming environment. The SCVs (Street Cleaning Vehicles) have been painstakingly recreated and feel incredibly authentic. Also the physics behind the litter and refuse displacement is, frankly, a marvel to behold. Above all this game is just so damn addictive!I think this game will remain installed on my system for many years to come.I look forward to SIGMOIDOSCOPE CLEANING SIMULATOR whenever that gets released, although I suspect that that will remain in the bowels of development hell for the time being.

I'm have lost my wife, mistress, home and job to this game. But none of them, would I trade to continue my love of sweeping the open digital world.I still get nervous when i finish a sweeping shift and have to carefully remove the dirt container. It is still as exiting now as it was when I first purchased this culturally defining game. With no job to go to I now wake up with more sweeping time, and with now living in a shed I have less time away from the game to wash, clean, sleep as my shed has limited walking distance.Basically this game has made my life much more fulfilled. Many people turn to religion when times are bad. I disagree completely...Street Cleaning Simulator is a life enhancer. There is only one area I still have not completed successfully! That is cleaning the 'Haverton Hill Hotel' Carpark. Only time and dedication to this arduous task will tell.

I can honestly say that this simulator has given me a new perspective on life. The experience of completing a mission is like no other. From prying gum off the pavement, to eradicating the debris from the Friday night before, this game really imbues a sense of having given something back to the community. But it's not all about the fun. I would go so far as to say that this has been an educational experience; one that has enriched my daily endeavours. In days gone by, I might flick my gum away while I'm walking to the local newsagent. I might leave my paper at the bus stop, or even drop a crisp packet in the park. No more. This simulator has turned my world upside down and turned my life around, and for that I am eternally in its debt. It feels as though I am seeing clearly for the first time in my life.If you make a game purchase this week, let it be this.

After reading so many positive reviews about this game I bit the bullet and purchased it, so many a time in the past have I bought a game on such great reviews and yet been utterly disappointed. This time it was different and I can thankfully say that my latest purchase has been one of the best things I have ever done....Street-cleaning-simulator (The name says it all) has been a life changing experience, it is so good I had to spend over £800 on upgrading my PC to be able to experience the full potential of the superb graphics, the attention to detail.....well, I'm speechless!I would love to write more but I am already suffering withdrawal symptoms so I must quickly return to my street cleaning,so much to do and yet so little time in the day to get the job done.My only grumble (only a minor one), no multiplayer. Can't wait for the sequel!!BigD

All my life I have wanted to drive around town in a street cleaner giving something back to the community I have lived in for so long. All my life I have been held back by parents, teachers, bosses and crown court judges who have told me I will never amount to anything and never be able to work in the community. Now, with "Street Cleaning Simulator" I can prove them all wrong, and be who I have always wanted to be.The level of detail brings tears to my eyes. Don't be put off by the title folks, this game contains hours and hours of enjoyment with many twists and turns along the way. That heavenly feeling you get after removing debris from the streets cannot be described by words alone. You MUST experience this game. I just love to sweep. For a few hours each day I can jump onto my PC and imagine, just for a few moments, where life could have taken me.

All I know it's I have to go collect garbage again. So i will be short.I've been playing this game since I can remember myself. Actually I've been playing this so much, it's the only thing I can remember anymore. The only breaks I take are to spread the wise message of our divine game, to the masses. The only thing I can complain about are these three undernourished kids who beg me to go for some reason again to work. They even try to convince me that I was playing this game during the other day's blackout with the Desktop screen off. They are calling me daddy, and they say mummy left crying. I don't know these kids, I haven't seen them in any route and they aren't any of the instructors of the game. All I know is that I'm losing precious garbage collecting time right now. BUY IT! Bow before this game. Yes, bow... Bow...

On face value this game might sound like a dull concept, but nothing could be further from the truth! So the pace of the game isn't quick. Therefore if you mainly love racing simulations this might not be your cup of tea. This is an epic roller coaster of strategic planning, driving skill and business management. If you love games that are so much fun that you are kept glued to the screen and lose all concept of time then this game is for you. Hours of fun for all your family and friends. There is no multiplayer sadly but it's just as fun to watch someone else play!

The best thing about this game is that you can customise your road sweeper. I put go-faster racing stripes on mine, which doubled its top speed to a whopping EIGHT miles per hour, as well as adding sythed wheels to eliminate any road-cleaning competition. Sadly this led to the decapitation of a little old granny crossing the road, but fortunately I kept my license as there were no witnesses as I sped off at walking pace.I now intend to progress onto Milk Float Simulator, as I hear it is even more of an adrenaline rush (you can even distribute FLAVOURED milk!!)
