I like great quality kitchen ware and there's no denying that Staub make great quality kitchen ware. The first, most noticeable, thing about this grill pan it its weight; it's certainly a heavy, solid chunk of metal. Not so heavy that it can't be lifted, but be careful not to drop it on a glass hob or tiled floor as it more than likely will cause some damage. The handle is sheathed in a silicone grip, that makes it easy to get a purchase on, while insulating your hand from the heat. The handle folds into the pan, so that it takes up less space in storage.I found that I needed to season the pan before its first use; or rather I should have seasoned it, because the first time I used it I had a real problem with food sticking.

Normally when it comes to cast iron, Le Crueset is the brand to go for. However of recent, their prices have really gone through the roof. For instance one of their classic casserole dishes we purchased in 2000 cost 30 pounds at the time. Now it selling for 180! I would have purchased plenty more if I had know how inflation would affect that brand!The Staub grill pan is much more reasonably priced. Quality wise, the finish doesn't look at nice as the former brand. However the weight is still there and this shallow grill pan does still have a qualify feel in the finish of the handle. It is silicone, so should withstand some heat, but feels a little firm like plastic. So whilst I would use this in a grill,

I really like this. I started a keto diet several weeks ago and this means eating more meat than usual. Grilling can make it dry, but normal frying can mean it gets just a bit too greasy. This cooks great. It's very heavy but it is solid cast iron so should last. The folding handle is great for when it needs to be stowed away though I don't feel it will last quite as long as the skillet itself will.It's easy to clean and things can be browned off under the grill too. It's very versatile. I used to have a range cooker several years ago and it had a skillet /griddle plate too the side. I miss it but this one does the job just as well.

This Staub Grill Pan is just beautiful. Well made, thoughtfully fully designed with two pouring sides, a foldable handle in stay cool non slip silicone and a solid cast iron pan, it’s not as heavy as I’d expected though solid with weight with cast iron. I used it today to grill bacon, it fitted easily in my grill of my range cooker, the bacon cooked well, remaining full of flavour. The pan was easily cleaned in my dishwasher. It can be used on the hob too or even in the oven. It’s a French design and equal quality to another well known cast iron cookware yet cheaper. A lovely quality griddle pan that should last years I recommend.

I had not heard of Staub before and am now a big fan. The product is really well made and as cast iron is pretty heavy. Arrived today and used straight away to cook a fillet steak. An even heat distributed across the pan and non stick made it easy to cook with.Super easy to clean as well so all round a great product.It would have been great if the pan was Oven proof but as the handle is silicone it sadly isn't, still a really welcome addition to my kitchen and one that i'd happily recommend.

This is a staub make of a grill pan it is very heavy and sturdy it is made of cast iron which is one of the best items for cooking, a lot of chiefs use these ( my mother is a chef & uses these products ) highly recommend this grill pan they are a great item to have in any kitchen ( keep in mind it is heavy), handle comes off so it can be sat in the grill without the heat going to the handle ( handle is rubber)

This is a useful sized grill pan from STAUB that will be equally at home in the kitchen or out on the BBQ.Getting up to temperature is an act of patience, but that is the same for all cast pans. We seasoned the pan well before first use (and again after) and it performed will on both meat and veg.Quite easy to clean after it cooled with a short soak and we re-oiled before putting it away.

I've been using it to grill steaks with olive oil on electric hobs and it's were perfectly. It heats up really quickly the rubberized grip is comfortable even what's even at high temperatures and the overall cooking quality is perfect and it's doesn't pool oil underneath the food. overall I think this is perfect if you don't have a integral grill on your cooker and should give this a try.

I’d never heard of STAUB before but the quality of this pan is great. For a cash iron pan it’s weighty as expected, it’s got spout features on either side to get ride of excess sauce/oil/liquid etc which is handy. The grill pan can be used on heat or in the oven and is great for any meat types. The handle can be folded away and is it easy to hold.

I bought one of these for myself several years ago and it is still as good as when I first got it. Bought another one at Christmas for my father to help him cook healthier (less fat used with this griddle). He really enjoys it. Cheaper on here than in any other store I found. Top quality (cast iron)

Good size for two. Cleans so easily and cooks very evenly. Will be very useful on the BBQ or when camping as well as in general use.Only downside is that is not very deep sided, but that apart love it!
