I've pretty much had it with cheapo highlighter pens; leaky, bleed through, smudging of printed text and no longevity being the main reasons. I have been buying the 'usual suspect' Stabilo Boss brand of late, which still suffers from the smudging problem and that's why I opted to give the Staedtler ones a chance. These cost exactly the same on Amazon on a box of 10, so there was little real risk involved in the purchase. And what a purchase it has turned out to be. These 'textsurfer' highlighters live up to the no smudging promise, both for my inkjet printouts (that I mark-up the most) and for a rollerball using quink ink on paper as well. These Staedtler highlighters are good pens and their ink has been developed for using over the ink of computer print-outs without incurring the dreaded smudging. They are good for generic use also and are more worth acquiring than those one's having a short life in the 'Never-mind-the-quality-pay-the-quid' shops. I wanted the blue based highlighting colours, as these are harder to come by separately, and the others will be useful when my present selection of those colours runs dry. I'm a pensioner who ( rather than suffering from memory loss can't be bothered to think about the more mundane stuff ) has this regime of signifying repeat events on my wall calendar ( company pension, state pension,

The ten colours are all very different to the usual neon colours.There is a black, a grey and a 2 different light blues, a pink, an orange another pink and a light brown. They are attractive shades and it makes a nice change to highlight in grey instead of bright pink or yellow.You can use these to highlight or to colour in. It is good to have different colours to highlight different topics or points.the Brand Staedtler is a good brand and in my experience the highlighter remain usable for a long time.I did find it hard to pull off the caps. I have weak muscles but usually its not an issue. This time it was after removing the ten caps and replacing my arms were aching.

I bought these highlighters to annotate my university notes as revision for my exams. I didn't want something too in your face as I was highlighting up to entire sentences and equations so I didn't want to use my normal bright yellow highlighter (which has its uses). These highlighters are the perfect colour for being able to quickly scan for the important information but also aren't distracting if trying to read more in-depth. The pastel colours are also very pretty and made my notes more appealing. They last a decently long time - if I were to highlight every word in a document, they would probably each manage 150 pages, if not more. They also didn't dry out when I forgot to put the lids on.

I absolutely love the great range in choice of colours for these highlighters! I was getting bored of the traditional yellow and pink, so decided to buy a pack with lots of different colours. I was a little worried about the purple before I bought it because sometimes I have found it hard to see the text, but with all of these highlighters it's very easy to read through. Because their a different looking style and come in colours that aren't traditional I can now claim back my highlighters that people have borrowed and forgotten to give back without too much hassle. These really don't smudge, even with fountain pen,

I have been using these to highlight parts of my notes for uni and I have to say they're pretty good - one problem I have had though is sometimes the nib gets black from the ink - so I have to wipe it with a tissue to remove the ink. Otherwise these glide nicely on the paper and do not smudge, you can easily read the text underneath.One thing I don't like as well is the darker colours - they don't always work well on black ink. I have yet to try it on photocopied paper.These are better than some of the other highlighters I have had in the past, and are worth getting, especially if you're going to uni and need to highlight text in your personal books, or notes.

Beautiful pastel set of highlighters. Glides easily through text without any mis-lighting.Some lovely unusual colours, even the yellow is a more vintage, 'yolk' colour. I much prefer these subtle, yet trendy shades instead of their luminescent counterparts.The Black 'Hide-Lighter' is a revelation! Perfect for proof-reading and editing. It doesn't run through to the other side of the page like a sharpie. Wish I'd known about this sooner!It can redact documents before scanning too, which is useful for addresses or sensitive material.Very suited to a design or artsy enthusiast.

One highlighter is lasting me a very long time. I've used the Orange one extensively, for about 100 A5 pages and it's still going. I've started to use the Yellow one and that too is keeping its shine after about 30 pages.Leave the printer ink to dry on the page for about 30 seconds first, and you'll get no smudging at all. Even highlighting ballpoint pen, if there's no wet ink left (or only a little), it will not smudge. The price is also very low for 8 highlighters, giving excellent value.PS. A brand you can trustWorth the expense for what they are - you can buy cheaper - but i wanted mine on prime - still taken 4 days to come -But the items are worth the expense - need them to mark off a lot of paperwork and the quality of this brand is second to none - does not seak through paper like some cheaper brands do which is a plus.I would recomend these, but wait and try and get the bigger pack instead of just the four - as at £0.75 pence each its VERY expensive - you can get these in local £1 shops for same pack and brand - so just watch the price -

Bored with just yellow highlighting? These are ideal for injecting a bit of aesthetic interest to any given printed text.These are a cost-effective way to ruin a librarian's day. Simply borrow a book from your local library and highlight random, unrelated, irrelevant passages. And hand it back. Add to the mystery, and dodge accusations of guilt, by asking why certain passages are highlighted. Any of the "50 Shades..." series would be a particularly worthy target. Or the "Twilight" books would also benefit from this treatment.

Purchased this as an emergency buy to replace my highlighters for Uni. I was really impressed with the price for such a large value pack, with a great variety of colours including the extra colours of the more popular choice. These are really easy to use and ergonomic, work great on paper or in books and fit nicely even in a small pencil case, with a good product life too. Really good quality highlighters. I am studying and require a LOT of highlighting as my own means of learning (as I study and highlight almost immediately after writing - these do NOT make my pen ink 'bleed' *at all*) - they last a while, and with the amount of highlighting I do - I HAVE had to order a second pack, but mind you I highlight *A LOT* - so they've passed my test in many ways.. highly recommended to buy them *HERE* and not in stores, they're twice the price.

I received the topstar highlighters, which is what I wanted to receive as I only use them for Bingo and they are great for that, great selection of colours, and are lasting very well compared to some of the more expensive ones I have previously used, well worth the money, I am about to place an order for friends as they like them too. ( only reviewed this item in case others want them for bingo! ) I have used them for their intended purpose and they didn't smudge.

Long gone are the days of the dayglo neon bright highlighters being the only option - I always found seeing a page of my work highlighted quite upsetting. I think I found the colours so aggressive.SO I'm delighted to use this gorgeous range of colours in the same chisel tip, chunky hold, stabilo pen. But this time, softer, calmer, gentler colours.I use them for literally everything and they are lasting really well.Superb value, great quality. Perfect for me.

I love these. They come in a selection of really cute colours. However, while the pack colour is pale, I did find some of them were darker than I expected and as I was using to highlight text in a book that was a bit annoying. I suggest you check them on the back of an envelope before marking a precious book!! (The black one clearly is meant to cover over text and that gets lots of use!!)I could have done with one or two that were even a little bit paler.
