These pens come in a great selection of colours and shades with a fine point at one end and a thicker one at the other. The smaller point is neat enough to do finer details when drawing and the thicker end will fill in, provide a thicker line and can create an almost calligraphic appearance too.Initially, i thought these pens were simply felt tips with two different nib sizes, however, when used on the correct paper (watercolour paper is ideal) with water applied with a brush, the ink will give a watercolour like appearance. Finer details can then be later added with the smaller point. The packaging is good and stores the pens well, however, the card insert showing how the pens can be used would benefit from being more obvious with user instruction. At a glance, the illustrations etc don’t easily convey that you should add water with a brush to get the watercolour texture. This may result in some people not realising this is something you can do and therefore miss out on the benefit. In summary, these pens make a great addition to the pen pot and the paint tray alike as they can sit in both areas depending on how you want to use them.. The colours are a good range too, which can be lacking in some pen sets.Would recommend them for people wanting to use them as a decent set of felt tip pens and for anyone wanting to experiment a bit with other colour textures.

We get a lot of Crayola and Bic felt tip pens coming through the house for our children, who are aged 10 and 7, and have never really had any problems with them, but none have had the potential or scope that this pack of double-tipped Staedtler pens have. These are sophisticated pens that will be brilliantly suited to artists wanting to branch out a little more and get a more professional finish to their work. You'll have no problems using these casually, for colouring in pictures etc, but the finer tip and the brush tip offer multiple options for somebody becoming more serious about their artwork, and the low price makes these a great introduction to brush tips for somebody who might be thinking about shelling out large amounts of money for more professional pens. These are a great middle option and definitely worth a punt before progressing onto anything more expensive.

I really like these pens. I bought them as a beginner to brush lettering so didn’t want to bankrupt myself straight away on the more expensive pens but at the same time needed decent quality. These pens have lived up to that. They have been getting lots of use and are showing no signs of fraying just yet (I only use them on good quality marker paper, don’t know how they would fare on regular copy paper or watercolour paper). They are nice and ‘juicy’, I love the colour variety, they are blendable by putting the tips of two different coloured pens together or by painting some ink onto a plate or pallet and then picking it up with another coloured pen. For the price,I cannot complain and would buy again.

(I've attached a couple of my notes I took with these brush pens, the lettered header is made using these)These brush pens intrigued me when I first saw them. They looked like Tombow Dual Brush Pen knock-offs. Are they? That's debatable. Are they super good and cheap and worth it to buy instead of the tombows? A definite yes.I really like these brush pens. The brush tip is fairly flexible and creates this natural gradient effect depending on how much pressure you apply. The fine tip is strong, around 0.8mm and has the exact same color as the brush tip, so coordinating your notes is so much easier. I highly recommend these brush pens if you're looking to get into brush lettering.

This a a lovely set of fibre-tip colouring pens which have been made to be used on watercolour paper to give watercolour effects or just as colouring pens, but in combination is where they come alive - finer details can be added after the washes. With water, the colours work well, merging and blending well with one another and giving a really interesting effect on the page. With 18 pens in the pack, you have a range of shades available to be creative with. The brush tips are harder than I expected - I thought that there would be more flex in the bristles - whereas these are hard. The fine tip is as you would expect - but it is nice to have the more precise point for details.

These fibre-tip pens are designed to be used on watercolour paper to produce the same effects as painting with a normal brush and paints, with the added bonus of being able to use the fine tip to add details. They actually do produce quite good results, when used on proper watercolour paper. Even used on ordinary paper, they are fun to experiment with. They blend pretty well and the range of colours included in the pack is good. Having a brush tip and a fine tip means they are great for all aspects of sketching. Less mess and less clean up than using watercolours, and perfect for anyone wanting to try out different techniques.

This pen pack from Staedtler, the well-known German office products brand, contains 18 double-ended fibre-tip pens that are not really anything like brushes but would be quite suitable for a child at school or an older art student. You get a good selection of colours included but the pens act more like marker-pens than brushes and some practice will be needed to get the line width you need. At thirteen pounds fifty for the set, currently from Amazon, this makes each pen well under a pound apiece – not bad value for the quality – but if you are looking for watercolours these pens don't quite fit the bill.

I bought this product as I have never been a fan of felt tips and their blockiness. when I got these, I was worried they would be the same. luckily, they werent and I have used them loads. My only downsides were that the black thin end ran out straight away, so the lid probably wasn't on properly when I got them and the light blue has run out pretty quickly, although that may be because I use the pens loads. But, apart from all that, I would highly recommend as they had quick delivery and were amazingly great too use.

Arrived a little slower than hoped but inline with the quoted delivery time. The ‘ink’ is intense and does not blend well but does give a bright result. The colours do not always match the expected colour represented by the cap. There are few or no useful skin tones and several colours come out virtually black. Despite the foregoing issues, overall I am pleased with the set and the attractive price. It is definitely better value than an unknown brand that could even cost more.

Ok, so what do you get?...Eighteen coloured markers ...To be honest, they do not have a brush end, it is a double fibre tip!So after this slightly misleading bit of fact-bending, you are still left with a very decent set of markers, and at this price its pretty much a 'No Brainer'The colours are all reasonably good though one or two didnt exactly ring any bells for my wife (Who is the artistic one in the family)All on all a good set of markers!

This is a really nice set of double ended pens - thinner pen tip on one end and thicker fibre brush on the other end. The range of colours is spot on although I’d be tempered with the 36 pen set giving an even wider ranger of colours (for about double the price). Out 7 year old is having a great time with them and using them to draw on watercolour paper and with the two tip options it gives her room for a bit of extra creativity. Very nice set.

These are ideal for lettering, coulouring books and genral use and while a watercolour effect can be produced, I doubt these would suit a serious artist. But for the casual user they are great, with a fine tip at one end and a broad one at the other, which is supposedly a "brush" but more of a felt tip really. In use the colours will run into one another if mixed, as the colour doesnt "fix" very quickly, but other than that pretty good

This is a really nice selection of pens. There is a lovely selection of colours with thick and fine tips so that you can do detailed work and also thicker lines and strokes. You do need a separate brush, water and watercolour paper to make the watercolour effects, but that is perfect for my young nieces when they want to do a quick bit of painting - they and the table around them stay clean!

Always loved Staedtler pens and this is no exception. Great quality. Nice colours. And good value for money. Would be a great things for kids to use and also good for those adult colouring in books that have become so popular lately. Can't comment on these from a professional artist's point of view but certainly great for amateurs and occasional users.
