If you're doing art or whatnot you would probably use felt pens for colouring so it's unusual to see a set of what is essentially the "evolved ball point pen" or as most people call it the rollerball, it's like a ball pen but the ink comes out without pressure, I'm sure you know the type well.So yes it draws thin lines as you can see in the pic I've taken, I think it's an interesting set because its use isn't immediately obvious, it's not much use for colouring or shading because they're so thin and impossible to blend, but it certainly isn't useless, any kind of fine line drawing like outlining or detailed work that would normally be the domain of those "fineliner" pens which have the nib on them would be a perfect application for these. In terms of how they write,I personally found the triangular profile a bit weird at first but it didn't really bother me, it's just that we're used to pens being round or hexagonal and a triangular profile feels different to grip. Ink flow is good but as mentioned it's a ball based pen so it doesn't flow or spread. Colours are vivid. From the looks of it you will need to make sure the lids go back on because they came with those little plastic balls you have to knock off the nib to start writing which implies that long term you need to keep them air tight or they might goo up. This shouldn't be a problem because they come with the nice neat plastic case and the pen lids fit on the back of the pen, but obviously it's a consideration for young children or people who forget to put lids back on! The case is actually very similar to the one you get with the staedtler fineliners, you know, the black ones with 6 in the plastic case or something. It's very durable and a permanent storage solution rather than just a packing material.Overall I'm impressed because mainly they're different, but also they seem to be implemented well, and the case is the icing on the cake.

Staedtler leads the market in tempting, attractive stationery sets, and this fits the bill immediately - it's a smart, bold and colourful pack of pens that screams to be opened and scribbled with as soon as you unpack them. And, true to the description, they write with pleasingly bright and brilliant ink, too, their fine nibs being perfect for diagrams, mind maps, line drawing and hatchwork / detail. In the ballpoint mode, they appear a bit like biros at first, but the ink flows a bit more easily and uniformly than your standard biro. Think biro / gel pen cross and you have it. It's a nice range of colours, but I perhaps miss a lighter orange / dark yellow. That said, the orange included is more than adequate really,as you can't write with too light a colour on white paper anyway. They're comfy to hold, write with ease and tuck away tidily back in their carry case when you're finished - what's not to like?Treat yourself, or make a fellow stationery lover's eyes light up as a nice stocking filler. Lovely pens from a solid stationer. ?✍?

The STAEDTLER 437 MSB10 Triplus Ballpoint Pen - Multi-Colour (Pack of 10) arrive in the standard type of pack that Staedtler use, this means they can be kept in the case, folded back and propped up at a 45% angle ready for usage so that you can use each pen. Its a good and handy idea and keeps them all together nicely. At the writing end of the pen is a seal that needs to be removed on first time usage. I note the range of colour's is good and the easy flow and quick drying when in contact with paper is good. The pens are primarily for finer detail or used when requiring to add small detail to a large picture that you might have created as opposed to big bold work. There are various usage, for home, school or in the office depending how you want to use them. If this suits your purpose there is no reason to dislike these pens.

A set of really nice writing pens in a variety of colours.I tend to prefer black for everyday 'serious' writing but for jazzing up diaries, scrapbooks artwork and school books they're great. They each come with their nibs sealed with that teeny blob of plastic at the end so you know they're unused and the ink flows smoothly leaving no drag on the paper. The ink is completely smudge free instantly which is a big selling point and the slight (hardly noticeable) triangular shape ensures your pens stay put on your writing surface when not in use.The case is made of hard plastic, easily opens and the closure flap seals with a click when you press at either side of it.In the same way the closure flap can be bent back on itself and clicked into place (see photo) for easy accessibility to all colours.

I really like Staedtler's pen range, they are usually reasonably priced, nice to write with and come in a good range of colours and line widths. This review is for a pack of ten Triplus Ballpoint Pens which come neatly packed in a stand up box. The lid of the box flips over backwards and doubles as a stand. The colours included in this set are: orange, red, pink, purple, blue, light blue, green, light green, brown and black. In use these pens write very smoothly and are comfortable to hold thanks to their ergonomic triangular shaped barrel. They produce a thick writing line (1.4mm) and the ink is quick drying and does not smudge. Ten pens for around £13.50 (price at the time of this review)is a good price too.

These colourful, ballpoint pens, come in packs of four, six or ten and with either a medium, or broad, line width. This pack contains ten colours and a medium width. The case is well designed, with the pens fitting neatly inside and the lid both snapping into place, to keep the case shut, and folding back, so you can prop the pack up while using them. There are three shades of green, brown, black, blue, purple, pink, red and orange. Yellow is notably missing but, then, as these are for writing, rather than colouring, perhaps it was considered too light to see clearly. They write smoothly and do not smudge. Overall, I really like these – great for note taking, work, school or for students.

I'm brand-addicted to Staedtler as they always produce high-quality products that just work. My daughter has some difficulty in holding pens and pencils correctly (the tripod grip), these triangular shaped pens make it so much easier for her the hold correctly. The extra broad tip works particularly well for titles on A3 design sheets. The ink quality is great, it dries quickly and doesn't smudge. I've also been using these with A level design students for annotating design ideas and developed ideas. The different colours are great for making it easy to see where the annotation relates to manufacturing detail, materials, client feedback and detailed explanation of subsystem sketches.

I've been a member of postcrossing for over eight years so I've tried plenty of pens to write my postcards with and these are coming out in my top 5. Possibly top 2. Brilliant pens, great range of colours and perfect for both writing on the cards and drawing. Write smoothly and on all card surfaces without smudging, I usually like the fineliners but they're terrible on the coated cards, these just glide over them and no smears. Nice, handy case for them too, keeps them neat and the lid props it all up to see the choices better. All in all these are made of win and I'd highly recommend them.

I like this selection of ten coloured ballpoint pens. The quality is high, and the slim design means the pens fit easily and comfortably between the fingers. The slimline case is practical and easy to open too. However, the ink doesn't flow quite as readily as I would have hoped. I have some Staedtler felt pens and they flow beautifully. While these ballpoints don't flow badly, they don't produce ink as readily as they could.Still, ten nice pens, and the variety of colours makes them ideal for note taking and for highlighting pertinent sections of notes or texts.

I was a big fan of the felt triplus line and these ballpoints offer similar qualities. Good colour reproduction and smooth inking. Haven't had any of the wetness or saturation that you'd get with felt or some gel pens. Of course, these are much better for shading with the hatches, sketching, etc rather than filling in. The triplus design means the pens won't roll around on the table, and the case is as small as it could be, making transportation and storage easy. The colour selection is pretty standard. As always, the red will disappear first, the brown last.

These are superb. Nice choice of colours - bright, rich and deep. The colours are different enough that you truly do get 10 different colours. They write with a fine line and are not too wet so they can be used for adult colouring books. The first time they are used there is a wax seal at the tip which need to come off. The plastic box they come in is strong and acts as a pencil case. Fantastic pens at a great price. Would make a nice stocking filler or small gift for an artist or anyone who loves colouring in.

I really like the colours and ink quality of these pens. The colours are vibrant and pure. The pens write their fine lines smoothly, with no blotches or missed coverage; and the ink doesn't smudge. However, the triangular pen shape didn't work for me. My large hands found the pen barrels a little too thin to hold comfortably for long periods of continuous writing. If you have smaller hands, you will probably find these OK to write with, and appreciate the shape that also stops them rolling off the table.

I ama a huge fan of Staedtler products but this is the first time I have seen these biros. I have similar pens which are fine liners and have always found them to be of the highest quality. These biros are so smooth to write with that if almost feels like a rollerball pen. The colours are so vibrant and, once you remove the little protective ball from the tips, write instantly. These pens produce colour that is true to the cap so you will always know exactly what you are getting.Excellent pens

I have a thing with pens. Honest. But the amount I get through, they're always, always appreciated. These are great - a gel sort of ink that comes in loads of different colours. Great for what I do, which is journalling - I'm always running out of ink! These pens are ace, the ink is so smooth and the pens are perfect for small writing, which is exactly what you need. Well, what I need, anyway. They come in a lovely container too. All in all, absolutely brilliant!

I loved these pens. I have Arthritis and Carpal Tunnel yet they didnt hurt my hands at all.The colours were strong and flowed well on the page. I am currently doing a evening course at college and have been using these to write my homework with, and my tutor asked me what pens they were as she wanted some for herself to make notes.Would buy these again, especially if they did a bigger pack with a larger range of colours.
