This tube-style redesign of traditional Stabilo neon highlighters seems to me something of a gimmicky idea that doesn't always result in an improvement over the traditional design. The highlighters have been redesigned to resemble paint tubes. This doesn't make any difference to the way in which the highlighters work on the page - the ends are still a traditional chisel-tip felt pen. Where it does make a difference is to the caps. When capped, the tubes are capable of standing upright on a desk... but when in use, the caps don't clip neatly onto the ends of the tubes as they would with normal Stabilo highlighter pens, so they're more likely to get lost. There's also no plastic storage wallet. You might expect this to mean reduced packaging - but the use of plastic hasn't really been significantly constrained here as, in addition to a thick-gauge plastic net, there is also quite a large plastic label. The price point is reasonable. I'm not quite clear on the what constitutes 'Assorted' in the 5 pack set. The 'Assorted' set I received matches that shown on the item photos: one each of green, orange and pink highlighters and two of yellow - which suits me well, as I tend to use yellow more than any other colour of highlighter - but whether the combination received varies from pack to pack is not made clear in the description at the time of writing

This is a pack of four marker pens (green, yellow, pink and orange) that ship in a white plastic net bag. They are an unusual design and not the hard plastic construction I am used to but more of a hard squeezable tube (there is some give but not a lot) with a solid inner part holding the ink.It doesn’t appear possible to tell how much of the product remains in each marker as nothing moves when you shake the pen, although that may change as the pens are used. But the colours are nice and vibrant and the nib (the same as all previous stabilo pens I have used) can be turned to vary the width of the highlighter line as required. Ink flow is good and, if you scan documents in black and white, bear in mind that only the pink shows up on the scanned image although not to the extent that you can no longer read the text beneath. It is a good set of four marker pens.

Great highlighters from Stabilo. Vibrant colours and this new paint tube design works well for me. You can stand these up on a shelf or desk and they take up very little space. The tip can be used at different angles but I use the thick one as I highlight text in documents.Curiously in the product description at the time of this review it says that these are refillable. I can't see any reference to that on the packaging nor can I see any obvious way in which that could be done. Nor can I see where you might get refill ink from. Not an issue for me but if you did envisage buying these for that feature you might want to be aware of this.

Stabilo produce my favourite neon highlighters of all time so I jumped at the chance to get these new style ones. They seem smaller than the traditional highlighters but I am not sure if this is just because of the illusion created by the new shape or whether they actually are smaller. The new design feel more comfortable in my hands which is important when using these for long periods of time - the old style often felt uncomfortable due to the wide square shape. I don't know if these will last any longer than the old ones but to be honest, the stabilo highlighters have lasted longer than any other brand that I have tried.

Collection of four highlighter pens in yellow, pink, green and orange from market leader Stabilo. These pens have been commonplace for for over 30 years now and there are no surprises here although the design of the pen has changed a bit and it now resembles a fat tube of toothpaste. The reason for the change is lost on me. It seems they now have a greatly increased time you can leave the top off without the pen drying out, but that's just as well as the new design means you can't just pop the top on the end and you have more chance of losing it. That said, they highlight documents very well which is rather the point.

This is a set of 4 highlighter pens in classic neon colours: yellow, pink, orange and green. What sets them apart though is the new tube design. As you don't need to "squeeze" to get the ink out, the tube packaging doesn't add any functional benefit to the product... The pens are the same great quality as other highlighters by Stabilo and although they are chubbier (and take up more room in a pencil case), they are no more (or less) comfortable to hold than the standard highlighters. So do we really need tube shaped highlighter pens? No, not really - but they do look quite cool, don't they?

These are a lovely set of colours albeit at just under a £1 a highlighter it's the tube concept I guess that keeps it at that cost. The colour is effect and takes well to paper but I found as I was highlighting small text the highlighting line was starting off perfect but the tube kept slipping in my hand and then colouring bigger areas. It was as if I couldn't keep a secure grip on the pen. I think I'd like it either completely round or a normal shape. The unusual packaging is good, makes it a nice gift for someone who would use a lot of them (I do as a teacher).

Nothing to fault these on. They are a different shape to the ones I've had previously but otherwise seem the same. The colours are nice bright shades, good for marking text, and the ink dries instantaneously so you don't get it on your hands. The manufacturers seem quite proud of the chisel tip, but I thought all markers had that? Either way the tip is firm and enables you to either mark text with the broad side, or you could underline or write with the thin edge. As they correctly claim, the toothpaste tube shape does prevent the marker rolling across your desk.

These work as you'd expect highlighters to work, and produce a smooth line from their chisel-tipped nib. These are different to the norm in that the exterior is not a hard, plastic lozenge shape, but a soft tube like those in which you get artists' paints.Unlike paint tubes, however, squeezing does not change the flow of the contents. It appears the ink is held inside hard plastic reservoirs within the tubes, so I can't see the advantage in this design - especially as they are probably a little less comfortable to hold than the traditional hard-plastic types.

This set of four highlighter pens comes in a little net, sadly not designed for storing the pens. The colours are the usual bright 'neon' shades, pink, yellow, green and orange, and the chisel tips make them useful for precise highlighting, whether you're blocking chunks of text or drawing fine lines. These pens have a novel toothpaste-tube shape, enabling you to stand them on end on your desk. They are actually quite comfortable to hold, very similar to the conventional pens, and seem to work just the same.

I love highlighters! I've always loved these as a way to make my notes and any long documents I have to study easier to revise later. Assuming you already want a highlighter to be reading this, why would you choose these new style ones over the original design? Well the main difference is that you can more easily alter the thickness of the highlighter colour, even write with it if you are so disposed. The other difference is that these are more comfortable to hold than the original flat things.

A pack of five neon highlighters that all look like small tubes of toothpaste, but work excellently! The pull off lids reveal the neon tip and as usual with Stabilo highlighters you can get a wide variety of effects reliably. The chisel nibs allow you to draw the finest or broadest lines.Orange, yellow, green and pink in this pack, with a second yellow (everyone loves yellow!)This trusted brand delivers the goods and meets your office or student needs every time.

Bright and colourful highlighters. Chunky to hold, quick to dry on the page, useful for studying to take note of essentials to remember. In this exam revision time, anything that helps with the process is useful. They are a bit big to go in a normal size pencil case so don't get taken to school but are very good for using at a desk at home. They are an unusual paint tube shape but feel quite ergonomic. Value for money size, aroma-free and neon bright.

These neon highlighters are of a very high quality as one would expected from Stabilo - I can honestly say I never use another brand as the quality just isn't as good in other brands. The highlighters are good value for money, but I would say are more awkward to use than the normal rigid plastic ones. In all honestly I don't see the point of these being produced in a tube format.Perhaps I'm getting old but 'if it an't broke' etc............

Great highlighters! The package included the following neon colours:- Yellow- Green- Orange- PinkUnlike the traditional Stabilo highlighters, these have a softer tube-style shape which resembles a paint tube. They can also stand upright when capped but the colour and shape of the tip is the same as the traditional ones. Personally, I found this new shape easier to grip and hold. Would purchase again!
