STABILO EASYgraph Handwriting - Right Handed Pencil - Pink (Pack of 2)These pencils are designed to help children who are just learning to write to develop a good handwriting posture. They're fatter than regular pencils and the pencil lead is fatter too, and they are also triangular, with diagonal notches cut into the side all the way down which guide the position of the index finger and thumb pads. These pencils aren't necessary for children who already have a good finger position when writing, but can act as a reminder for those who don't: when you point out they're holding the pencil wrongly, they can instantly get back to holding it the correct way.The pencils can also act as a physical cue for children themselves to notice and adjust their finger position. As well as that, the fact the pencils are fat makes them easier for less dextrous hands to grip, and the fatter line produces is helpful for new writers. The pencils are designed to appeal to children, coming in a range of bright colours and with a special spot on the end for their name to be written. They also come in separate versions for left- and right-handed writers - so be sure to order the correct version!Although far more expensive than regular pencils, they won't be needed for long - just till the child has got into good pencil-holding habits, not throughout their entire time at school. For sale at the time of writing this review at £2.99.

These are actually really easy to hold, regardless of the size of your hands. It's surprising how a few simple Innovations like a thicker shaft and the angled indentations in the shaft make this so much easier to handle and to hold.Although a bit pricey I think this product is the worth it if it helps your child to hold the pencil and to write. There are so many reasons why learning to write can be stressful. Cutting down on that stress by giving your child an excellent easy grip pencil that is easy for them to handle and manoeuvre is just a good idea on every level.I had my daughter try it out as she is an artist and uses pencils regularly if they're uncomfortable to hold she quickly noticesit but this pencil was very comfortable and she had no issues with strain or discomfort when using it. She rather wishes that all of her pencils were designed in this way as it's a benefit to an adult to be able to hold a pen or pencil more easily as well. I tried this product oyr briefly as well and I have quite small hands, so much so that I can wear gloves that are designed for children, and I found this easier to handle than a standard pencil

Really fantastic pencils for sketching, marking up wood etc. There are notches carved all along this pencil which allow for an easy grip and hold when in use, it makes shading when sketching or drawing a lot easier, these notches do not pose any sort of a problem for sharpening the pencil however, which sharpens as usual/as you would expect it to, the lead in the pencil is not too soft and does not disappear too quickly requiring lots of sharpening and shaving until you are left with nothing but a little stub. The lead is also solid enough that it does not easily break when pressure is applied to it,while you would not wish to drop it repeatedly and run the risk of breaking the lead inside the pencil along its length it does not appear to be a problem out of the box.The pencil itself is more triangular than cylindrical and does not roll if you leave it on a slightly uneven surface, something which can be really annoying and can result in the lead being broken inside the length of the pencil, it is also a pretty colourful purple shade which makes it easier to notice on a work or table top when you have other materials set around it.

My daughter who is three and a half has been "writing" for a while but that's mainly been tracing letters and numbers. Now, she is starting to copy her letters and as she was holding her pens and pencils in an extraordinary number of configurations, I thought that this pencil might be useful for her.It has helped a lot. Rather than me just explaining where her fingers and thumb should go, she can see and feel because of the grooves in the pencil barrel. Her control over the pencil is much better and she is gaining in confidence. And it's specifically designed for a right handed person (there's also a left handed version). She still occasionally presses a little hard and breaks the end of the lead, but she is getting better all the time. And because this pencil (and the Stabilo Easystart pen she has) are helping her improve the way she holds her writing tools, her writing is improving too. I think the pencils are good value for money and with the grooves cut all along the barrel should last for a long time.Overall very useful and well worth having, especially if your little one is struggling with their handwriting.

As a SENCO (special needs coordinator) and a teacher familiar with nursery and reception I have seen and used a lot of "beginners" pencils as well as grips of various sorts to add onto regular pencils and I would say these are among my favourites ( along with this range https://www.amazon.co.uk/Faber-Castell-Grey-Easy-Eraser/dp/B0041BSV3W) the pencils are wider than a regular pencil, triangular and have slanted notches (facing appropriate direction for either right handers (as these are) or left handers. The result is that it is actually quite hard not to hold these with an appropriate grip, and the child (my 3.5 yo acted as Guinea pig)can apply decent pressure to paper and has a better control of the flow of marks they make.Where these excel is that the grooves go nearly all the way to the end so the good bit won't get sharpened away, and also they are not as obviously "special needs" as some of the add on grips which make a child's pencil look different from their peers.

A very grown up looking pair of pencils that are designed specifically for right or left handed use, with a triangular shaped ergonomic design. These can be used for youngsters learning to write in sentences and older individuals: adults, who have to relearn how to write, due to a traumatic incident and/or to rehabilitate after a hand or neurological injury. The pencils look stylish, they come in a range of lovely pastel colours. They're made from feather light responsibly managed wood. The ends of the pencil display either yellow or red for right or left handers.Yellow end = leftRed end = rightThough in my trial, even a left hander didn't find the right handed version uncomfortable to use.The corresponding grooves conform to correct finger tip placement helping you match the indentation in the wood. Assisting in correcting your grasp.A lovely, innumerably useful, albeit, expensive set.

Stabilo are a trusted pencil manufacturer. This pack of 2 pencils are designed with little pencil grips built in which supports children learn a good pencil grip. This makes hand writing easier to learn and helps set up a grip which will last for a lifetime. The pencils are a little thicker than a normal pencil which best suits little hands. The set consists of 2 pencils in cute colours - one is baby pink and one is a pale mint green. The leads seem strong - I tested with a very eager 4 year old and the lead did not break once. The wood used in the manufacturing is from sustainable sources. The only tiny niggle is he price - £9.16 for a set of 2 is pricey.I’m still happy to recommend and give 5 starsas I have used these pencils previously with my older grandchild and I truly believe that they set up good handwriting habits.

These pencils are good for getting a grip on and using for a longer time without a break, the fit the hand of a ring handed user easily due to the grooves cut in the pencil. I think they are a little thicker than average and the lead a little softer, perhaps, than you would expect but they sharpen to a good point and last as long without re-pointing as you would expect. The lead does spread easily to the paper, easily enough that they would be good for sketching, shading or smudging as artistic work may require as much as they would be good for annotation, underlining of text or line drawings. The pencils are sturdy and the lead through one of which that I tested by sharpening almost to its end was completely intact,no breaks within the pencil as some cheaper pencils can exhibit, even out of the stationary packaging. Recommended.

This is a fat, sturdy pencil with dents cut into the length, and the dents correspond perfectly to the correct finger positions when gripping a pencil. I found it really comfortable to use, as the dents ensure that your fingers stay in the correct positions. When you sharpen the pencil you just need to use the dents further up, the dents go right up the length of the pencil so even when the pencil is quite short you can still use the dents. My son, who has hyper-mobile thumbs, has always had a weird pencil grip due to his thumbs. Using this pencil he can grip it correctly, although as he's not used to using this type of grip he finds it quite tiring. With use I'm sure he'll get used to it and thus write properly. It's a really good pencil for training children to have the correct grip.

I was a bit skeptical of how well this would work to help with handwriting, since pencil is a pencil, right? Actually I was wrong, there are some pencils that really do help a bit with handwriting - this is one of them. The little grooves all along the length are spaced exactly right so that a nice firm grip can be achieved by a right handed person and encourages proper finger position. All the right handers in the family said it felt nice to hold and the leftie unsurprisingly said it felt terrible and awkward so these get a big thumbs up from us here. Also come in the left handed version too which we haven't tried but I'd assume work just as well for those that use the other paw.

These easy start pencils are for right handed users. Two in a pack they are the prettiest pencils I have seen. In a baby pink with little grooves cut out of the side which whilst look attractive are there to ensure a good grip when using the pencil. These pencils are great for small children when learning to write or when practising their writing as they are tough and resistant to snapping when pressing hard on the paper. With space to write your name on the pencil, these will make a useful addition to children's pencil cases. A lovely stocking filler at Christmas or just a little inexpensive gift. A great price for what you get. Stabilo make great pencils. Absolultely recommend.

Good quality product. A lot different than usual pencils. Very good quality. Strong and dark led. You can't use regular sharpener. You need a bigger one or you can use blade. This is the only product I found after searching a lot. Very very useful for toddlers and preschoolers who are starting to learn writing. Usual thin pencils are difficult for them to hold. Thicker ones are easy to hold and write. Actually they need bigger ones than this. But I couldn't find any. So I bought this. One star less because of the high price. Can't buy it regularly. Really liked the product. Good packing and great service from Amazon. Thank you all. Hope my review helps other moms and dads.

I think these pencils are designed for learners. The little dimples that are shaved out of the pencils are designed to help get the proper writing grip on them. They are also triangular aiding with the grip.In terms of design these pencils look nice. They are pink and have a nice girth to them. The wood is a nice colour so all those dimples look good. The tips of the pencils are red (no rubbers) and the bit below that has a space where the name of the pencil's owner can be written. There is also an R there next to a hand indicating these are for right-handed writing/drawing.My six-year-old daughter is using these. She keeps them in her pencil case and she likes them.

Triangular pencil sleeves to encourage a correct pencil grip for young children learning to write have been around for some time, as have triangular colouring pencils. This set of two HB pencils takes the concept a stage further with shaped cut outs along the barrel of the pencil so that it can be comfortably gripped by small fingers. The shaping of the cut outs makes this set suitable for right handed children; an alternative set is available for left handed children. The bright pink colour will probably appeal to more girls than boys and indeed many boys may feel awkward using these.A gender - neutral colour would have been more appropriate - hence the loss of a star.
