I installed it temporarily on my single speed bike for one longer and very hilly ride and it will stay there probably forever. I paired it with a 9 speed X.5 derailleur and they work together very well the same as my "high end" mountain bike. Shifting is precise and reliable and I prefer Sram over Shimano. Very inexpensive and fun to use. It reminded me why we have derailleurs in the first place.

Was a bit frustrated about how to install it on my wheel. But after 10 minutes of thinking and reading manual on sram.com i figured it out. Switching as really smooth and precise. I was expecting a bit fuzzy ergonomics but it turned out it extremely convenient. Very recommendedP.S. Before i had ring shifter and was afraid this wouldn't fit at all. This definitely fits

Love it. I am coming from a twist shifter to this and wow, what a difference!!!I got this with an existing X.7 derailleur. Works way better than I expected. Changed the entire feel of my biking experience for the better!Quick/snappy shifts and very quiet. Metal casing, (not plastic as I've read in some reviews).Zero Cons.Highly recommended!

My X9 had some internals fail on the first COLD ride of the season so I went with this one - it doesn't have the quick swap attach like the 9 but it works just as well with my X9 der. Its on a fat bike so weight isn't a real issue.(don't judge my flops - it was a December test ride - seemed like a good idea at the time)

great shifter, the shifts are consistant and solid. The unit is solidly built and should last awhile as long as it does not take a direct hit from an object like a tree or the ground and so on. I used this in comparison with the x.5 rear 9 speed for my 2x9 build. very happy with the set up.

Pretty cool design. Easy install. You use your thumb to shift up or down. Shifting to lower gears (bigger on the back) happens quickly (up to 4 or 5 gears at once if you really need to). I wish shifting up (to the smaller gears) was a finger trigger rather than a separate thumb shifter.

Good for the Money ,clean looking and sits nicely under the bars, only reason i gave it 4 stars is the 2 levers you have to push to go up and down the gears ,not like the other type where its a push and pull ,but ill get used to it ,would recommend

Work wonderfully with X.9 rear derailleur. Ridden with it on some really rocky trails and doesn't skip or jump ever. Though it takes some getting used to if you started on Shimano with the thumb and finger combo, but is definitely worth it.

My old shifter on my mountain bike gave up. I tried to open it up to fix, but it's like the inter-workings of a 1900's watch in there with gears and springs, so gave up and bought a new shifter. This one has worked really well!

I put this Sram X.5 9 speed shifter on my Grandson's bike. It's a lower end product but performs really nice in comparison to their X9 shifter. I'd say worth my money on a 10 year old kid's medium level mountain bike.

X5 scram trigger .....absolute bargain , delivers super smooth gear change even under pressure on rough uphill climb ....matched up to x5 derailer ....9 speed scram cassette .....Amazon super efficient as usual

These were a replacement for my Specialized because they broke during a ride, I ordered as soon as possible in order to be delivered on time for a competition that was held the week after. I love SRAM.

Replaced a shifter on my Turbo bike. Had SRAM double tap but this was an inexpensive alternative. On a turbo, I slightly miss not having a gear number indicator on the shifter.

I bought and installed this shifter on an older sram derailer and it works very smoothly and is a major improvement over the twist style shifter I had before.
