Having bought this as a replacement for a broken grip shifter (the plastic had perished and snapped), this shifter was very easy to fit, simply sliding on, tightening to the bars and threading the new cable through to the front mech (the cable had plenty of spare length to the mech, so would fit any bike). Simple adjustment and the job was done in under 5 minutes. The graduations in between the 3 gears is very helpful and removes and rubbing and makes adjustment very quick, and the chain enters the chainring first time, although I can understand how others would prefer there to be only 3 positions. Slight stretch of the new cable is not an issue and easily rectified,

I have "Trauma Induced Arthritis" as a result of coming off the bike on slippery surfaces on several occasions. Over time, it got just about impossible to change gear on the left side, particularly when hand was cold or tired.I was told it was too light on the touch, even for kiddies bikes.I was desperate, so gave it a try. On a full sized bike, it used the full length of the cable, and was NOT light on the touch - - it was firm and very positive.Since then I've been using the left gear virtually every day, even on the not-so-steep hills, and I don't know how I ever got along without it - - absolutely NO pain changing the gear, and very positive.DEFO five star.

When first installed they did well- except they are incredibly loud, which is kind of good because it is something like a horn.However at times it is annoying loud riding around.The functionality, however, when matched with a sram 8 speed hanger derailleur was superb.Although I will probably get another set like this as a replacement, I am actually looking for a differentmodel for the loud click sound they make despite the excellent functionality they provided.

This product works well, shifts smooth and was very easy to install. The most challenging part was the realignment/adjustment of my derailleur, but that only took a few minutes. Considering I have never done any form of bike maintenance or repair, I was satisfied with the ease and simplicity of the installation. Youtube has good videos demonstrating how to make the necessary adjustments to the front derailleur.

I like grip shifters because you can hit the whole range in one motion.The micro friction is really a micro index. Each gear has 2-3 clicks to it.The benefit is that if you run just a little cross-chained, you can adjust half a notch to remove chain rub.Also, if your cable is off just a little, you can adjust for that without having to stop and monkey with your indexing.

pros: more reliable than equivalent shimano shifters (have 4 bikes to compare)cons: this 3 speed shifter actually has 6+ positions, which while could be helpful sometimes (fine tuning shifting moment), is mainly inconvenient, as one have to look at what position shifter is, rather than just count by clicks (1->2->3)

I bought this product to replace my broken shifter on my Cannondale m400. The hardest part was deciding on the micro or index shifter. After reading reviews i decided to pick up the micro shifter and it worked flawlessly on my bike. Installation was easy, taking about 10 min and some adjustments to my front derailer.

Smallest son decided to park his bike on the gear selector and snapped it straight off. Bought this as a replacement and it does a perfect job.Comes with own cable, so needed threading through all the guides on the bike. Even so only took ten minutes to change the unit over.

The fit was perfect, but, the installation instructions could be a little more detailed. Fine tuning was needed on the bike's side... and it is a little more stiff than the old shifter (also a SRAM). My daughter has a tough time getting into the highest gear.

I replaced a fairly new gear shifter, which was poor quality, with the SRAM unit and it is excellent in both operation and quality. It was simple to fit and took me approximately 15 minutes. I Would definitely recommend it.

This shifter was bought to replace one that was broken. I did not realize how much the old one affected gearshifts. The new shifter is positive and shifts are smooth. Very satisfied, and the price was very reasonable.

This product was easy to install and works great. Some YouTube videos make the install and adjustment relatively esay. Probably took longer to get the stuck handlebar grips off compared to the shifter install.

Easy install to install and works great on my sons bike. Shifts soothly and works great. The shifter seems to be a perfect replacement for the original one.

it is very good quality. it performs at a high level. was easy to install and adjust. this works better than factory and have used it for several weeks
