The first lock I ordered arrived without the frame mounting bracket and the two tools required to set the code. So I sent it back and the replacement was the same. It's useless without the code setting tool and I actually liked the lock so I contacted the manufacturer who were happy to send out the bracket and tools for free. The lock itself is about the same size as a d lock and can fit around objects of a similar size, so you'd not fit it round, say, a tree, but it's very quick and easy to open & lock. You simply dial in the code, slide the mechanism and clip it open, like a massive locking carabina.I bought it for my daughter's bike so she can't lose the keys. The code mechanism is all metal and feels well made and positive in its movement. Setting the code was easy with the correct tool, although you do need a firm hand. The lock is much lighter than a similar size D lock, but still gets a Silver Sold Secure rating which may be required for insurance purposes. Sure there are videos online of people breaking into these things, but if you look for these you will find ANY lock can be broken into/picked, it's just a matter of stopping opportunists and thieves that are not so well prepared. Nothing will stop a portable angle grinder! The only reason it loses a star is because of the truly awful frame mounting bracket. I'm sure the reason it's not shipped with the product is they are embarrassed of it! Firstly it's massive, it sticks out so far from the frame that I was unable to fit the bracket and lock inside the triangle of my daughter's bike, which is almost as large as an adults. I had to hack 50% of the size of it with a hack saw and modify it to fit to the frame. Secondly, it only fits to the frame with low quality plastic jubilee clips - no bottle holder mount. So once I modified the bracket size and to use the bottle holderi t's actually ok, quick to release and sturdy enough to hold the lock, although it does wobble a bit it stills feels as though it won't fall out. The bracket clearly isn't made by the same people as the lock because it didn't have the same quality feel to it.

The lock itself is brilliant. While I suppose we never know how good a lock is until it's attacked, it is so much lighter than the D-lock I've been using and is rated as Silver secure.posted them, no charge. However, to programme the code you need two tools, the coding stop and a min-spanner which are meant to come with it. Amazon did not supply it so, in the absence of being able to communicate with anyone at Amazon I sent it back for a replacement with an explanation of what was missing. Amazon sent a replacement immediately, but without the two tools.Somewhat annoyed, I rang Squire looking to purchase the missing pieces and they sent them FOC.Excellent customer service from a family business, making quality products here in the UK.The re-coding process using the spanner is very, very stiff but it does work.I guess my rating should be 5 stars for the product, 5 stars for Squire, but 2 stars for Amazon

OK, let's get some myths out of the way. Leave any carbon frame bicycle outside overnight it will disappear, any lock- even 16 mm steel D lock Kryptonite- can be defeated by diamond saws. However if you buy a Kryptonite New York Lock you will probably end up spending more on the lock than the value of your child's bike. Plus your kid or wife will lose the key. This lock is ideal as a secondary lock to be used in conjunction with a D lock. Or for kids.It takes a bit of force to set the code but it is easy enough to do. This is my 4th Squire product and while Abus Bordo locks are OK I prefer Squire coded products for ease of use.

I would recommend this lock if you do not want a key lock. It is probably the most secure combination lock on the market. Instructions for first use could be better but I managed it fairly easily. It sometimes fails to open when expected and requires a bit of fiddling with the dials but so far it has worked largely as expected.

Lock seems strong and I like the act you don't need keys; very easy to change the combination. It is quite awkward to fit you need to consider how the lock works. Certianily lighter than a U lock but more difficult to use. I generally use this inconjunction with another lock

As this was a bulk order for my managers officer i cannot comment on this, but there have been no complaints so i am taking this as very good.

It's pretty good as far as I can tell. I had the hardest time setting the combination, that was almost so bad I was tempted to return it.

I prefer combination locks for the bikeThese fit the billChanging combination is easy to understand but requires strength to it

Great bike lock at a really good price. They get great reviews all over the web, well worth going for

Really easy to use and lighter than a D-lock. As it’s a combination I share it with the family.
