I’ve just bought this kettle to replace a Russell Hobbs Legacy, which packed up as most kettles do, several weeks after the year’s guarantee expired. I thought I’d write a quick comparison between the 2 kettles to help anyone making a choice between the two:* this kettle takes noticeably longer to boil than the Legacy, but is quieter.* it has a smaller spout than the Legacy. I can fill it easily from my tap, but if you have a wide-spouted tap, it might be a problem.* but this means that this kettle does not spurt boiling water and steam when you pour it from boiling, and it pours accurately.* the black trim is matt, which I prefer, rather than the shiny black on the Legacy.

Wanted an orange kettle but as it was going in a spare bedroom (have set it up so visitors can have a cuppa before bed or when they get up) I didn't want to spend too much. This looks exactly like a more expensive make on here, but I only paid 19.99. It is lovely like a shiny burnt foxy orange. Very autumnal. Very in keeping with my foxy spare room! It doesn't have a very long flex but is perfect for where I want it in relation to the socket. It's a good size 1.8l and boils quietly. It does take a little longer than my kitchen kettle about 2 1/2 to 3 mins. I love it so much that if my kitchen kettle packs up I would have no hesitation using this, it would be a good excuse to renew my kitchen canisters and toaster!

This kettle looks great and I originally chose it for the colour, but I also bought it because it was advertised as fast boil - the adage "a watched kettle never boils" sums it up nicely - it takes an age to come to the boil. Maybe I'm just impatient but if you just want a cuppa I expect its OK but if you boil a full kettle be prepared to wait! However, it was reasonably priced - no complaints there and it was the exact colour I wanted so overall not a bad buy really!

I love this retro shaped kettles but had never got one because they were so expensive, this is a very reasonable price for a solid and stylish kettle. It's quite heavy but easy to fill up from the spout rather than messing about with the lid. The only drawback is that it can be quite hard to see where the water level is and it does take a little longer to boil than a jug kettle, but these aren't major issues for me, I still love it.

I bought Mildred a few months ago and she's very shiny. She gets along well with the fridge freezer and the microwave, although she and the toaster vie for space on the counter so I think there's a bit of bad blood there. Nonetheless she makes me smile in the morning, and not just because she is the Bringer of Coffee: I also like that she's copper and shiny and makes my kitchen that bit brighter.

Great looking kettle that pours well and boils quickly. The only thing that is slightly odd is because of the shape you need to put in a fair amount of water before you reach the minimum level (otherwise you will fill your room with steam!), so quite a bit of water if you only want to make 1 mug.

i bought the orange kettle in december 15 for my daughter in law she found it hard to get the colour back then. It is still as great now as it was then the orange nice and bright it also works as well now.I was that pleased Iam going to buy the green one for myself very recommended.

It's a beautiful kettle. I love the shape and design.I have had no problems with escaping steam or paint coming off.It's very well made, and after a few months of use, it still looks as pristine as when it came out of the box.I highly recommend this kettle.

Looks good, I had to return it, no fault of the kettle or the supplier, it was a housewarming gift, and they already a kettle - a very dull one. This is way better and more stylish, I'd recommend the supplier, they were excellent.

Decent kettle. First week of using it was deafening. It sounded like a Boeing 747 was taking off in my kitchen, you couldn't hear for the noise, it was extreme. However, that has now stopped and it sounds like a normal kettle.

Bought on the recommendations of others and so far very pleased with the product. Stylish and very good value with excellent customer service. Bought to replace a much more expensive kettle. This is by far the better product.

Great colour, style and does just what it should. The water level indicator works and is easy to read. It takes a while to boil and is a bit loud, however jobs can be done whilst waiting and can be heated around the house.

Looks good good value for money the only thing I would say is some times if u don't hold the handle in the middle you the steam is very hot. It also does not boil all that fast but if you are not in a hurry that's fine

Nice kettle but only problem is i orderd the tea coffee sugar canisters in the same amber orange and they are totaly different colours the kettle is more brighter and they are both sq professional amber orange

Great kettle, really vibrant blue only critique is is that it is quite noisy when booking and because it holds a large volume dies take a little longer to boil if you have it full. But great value for money
