Ok, I'm rushing headlong to being 40, and what better way to do it than in The Interceptor! Yes, it doesn't so much give a nod to Knight Rider as shake it like headbanger, but I played the original (which was top down view, whereas this is from behind) and thought that I would give it a go, especially as it was on Black Friday Week and cheaper. This is one of those games which have a very steep play curve - its controls aren't the most easiest, but can be adjusted. The real problem that I had though was that in the game you have objectives each level, which unlock the usual stuff, one of these objectives is to pick up a black box from one of the enemy cars that you destroy. After trying to crash into it several times before it disappears and many reloadings, out of sheer desperation (or by pressing the button by accident) I tried taking a picture of it! This solved the problem, but wasn't mentioned in the instruction pamphlet!I have a confession to make, I've made it to level 3 or thereabouts where all of a sudden the steep play curve kicks in - you have to escape a sewer system after acidic gunk gets put on your Interceptor, the escape point seems too far in the time limit you have. I'll probably do it soon, but there is lengthy reload time to replay levels (especially the first level where you have to sit through the entire game intro!) and with my clan I have to steal time to play, and my wife got me Lego Lord of The Rings, which obviously has to be done!So why have I given this the full whack of stars despite the little problems?1 - I played the original.2 - Having to think to solve a problem like taking a photo of a car's black box (when you have to do it to log the car's specs in the database anyway) should be a positive, rather than a negative - too many games now have things spoon fed to you anyway.3 - It was made for people of my age, yet should appeal to newcomers.4 - Its different enough from the original to warrant a look and is very up-to-date for an "old school" game.5 - there is a strategy element to the upgrades and you can customise your car (when and if you unlock the trophy style elements)6 - It was on special offer!7 - Its on 3DS and not Mario or sport related8 - When I played the original it was probably on a ZX Spectrum, so long loading times isn't a problem/part of the nostalgia!I hope you enjoyed this review, buy it for nostalgia and a bit of a challenge, avoid if you don't like nostalgia and a bit of a challenge!

Bought this as a gift and it has given a lot of fun. It was at a bargain price but would be worth paying full price. It is a challenge for my 12 year old but not so difficult that he would stop playing it. It is all action.

It’s actually a challenging game to complete, but actually really fun once you get used to the controls and the stearin which is a little tricky a first.

Great game and graphics, bought for the daughter as it was cheap and was looking for make-up presents. She seems more than happy with it.
