UPDATED: FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED WHEN I DROPPED MY IPHONE X FROM 1.2m/4ftUPDATED: 14th February 2018. SECOND DROP!!!Last night, (13th Feb 2018) I dropped my phone using the classic "put it in an inside pocket, miss the pocket and watch it drop!" This always happens when I use my motorbike jackets with liners in. The slit in the liner isn't attached to the actual pocket, leaving a gap. The phone fell from chest height, I'm 6ft (183cm) so it must have been 5ft/1.5m. As I caught the end of my phone falling onto the pavement and landing face down, I was expecting at least a scratch on the glass and the edge of the case. On close inspection there is nothing, no damage at all. Isn't that remarkable? If you're still debating whether you should buy this case, then what more proof do you need?Unfortunately, today, 1st Feb 2018, I dropped my brand new iPhone X. It wasn't even a week old! As with most of my drops, they've been getting in and out of cars and on and off motorbikes. Today was no different. As I was closing my car door, I somehow managed to drop my new phone onto asphalt/tarmac in a shop car park. The phone landed face down (YIKES!!) and bounced underneath my car so it was completely hidden from view! Imagine the colourful language that ensued as I watched my phone bite the dust, allegorically! Fortunately, a passing lady picked it up for me, since after major surgery I can't bend....See swearing can be useful sometimes!Yeah, yeah, yeah, get on with it, "what happened to your phone?" I hear you ask. NOTHING. Though having said that at the time I didn't have time for a close inspection or deep scrutinising of said phone, but it did look OK. When I got home I removed the phone from the case and there isn't a mark anywhere on my phone! Additionally, it would be expected that the case would have taken a bashing and got scratched up. However, the case is TOTALLY UNSCATHED too!! I was expecting some impact damage or at very least some scratching on the case, but it's still in perfect condition.THERE YOU HAVE IT. IGNORE SPIGEN'S DROP TESTING. DOTTORE HAS DROP TESTED HIS IPHONE X FROM 1.5m ONTO ASPHALT/TARMAC AND THIS CASE PASSED WITH 10 STARS OUT OF 5!!!================ORIGINAL REVIEWInitial impressions are that this a great case for such a small outlay. I have to get something of my chest first before I continue with this review. Why do people spend £1000 on a phone but then put it in a cr@ppy case? People spend less than £100 to protect their very expensive case and it makes no sense to me. Then they go on and moan on Amazon reviews how poor the product was. What do you expect for a tenner or a fiver? Now I've got that of my chest I will firstly tell you why I have spent £8.99 on a case....It's a temporary solution until my hand made leather case arrives from Spain. You can buy Piel Frama cases on Amazon, but if you want a custom one you have to go direct to the manufacturer. Now, on with the review. As usual, Amazon Prime proves valuable, with yet another "Free" (actually inclusive not free) delivery. The case arrived less than 14 hours after ordering. Well done! The case itself feels nicer than a Tech 21 clear case that I used as a temporary case on my iPhone 7 Plus. That was OK, but the Spigen Ultra Hybrid feels like a whole level up. Firstly, the Spigen case comes wrapped in three layers of protection. The first layer is the card box, then comes an opaque plastic bag, finally there are two plastic films to be removed. The first plastic film is on the outer rear of the case and the second, is on the inner of the case where your phone's back will rest. This for me tells me that the manufacturer wants the case to be in A1 condition when you receive it. Considering my Tech 21 case (for my old iPhone 7) cost 3 times as much the Spigen puts it to shame. The removal of the films is a little fiddly and there is a worry that you might scratch the surface with your nails. However, I'm quite kack-handed and I managed to get them off without damaging the case. The case fits snuggly on my phone looking almost like a second skin. There is no gap between the back of the case and the back of the device. Others have mentioned scratching on the silver bezel after time. However, I've only had the case on for 3 hours and have no intention of removing it before my nice premium case arrives. I think that the scratches reported may be due to constant removing and re-installing, but that's only an unproven opinion. The phone looks magnificent in this clear case. I gave my phone a good cleaning with a good quality microfibre glass cleaning cloth before I put the case on. I also cleaned the inside of the case. The overall effect is a very good looking case/iPhone X combination. The actual iPhone X is very slippery and definitely needs a case. The Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear Case gives excellent grip. I don't know how much protection it will afford my phone, but I think it'll be adequate if I'm careful, which I normally am! At this point in time, that is more or less on first installation, I would highly recommend this case. Now, I am going to say something about the iPhone X since I am not allowed to leave a review since I got mine from my network provider, (hopefully this will not be bounced by Amazon!)The iPhone X has had a lot of hype and I upgraded on an early upgrade plan because the deal was too good to turn down. A small part of me wasn't really bothered about having a shiny new phone. I've been with my provider for over 10 years and have multiple devices, so I always have the latest iPhone available. However, with my iPhone 7 Plus, I started to think that there isn't much more that you can achieve with the current technology. This means that there would only be incremental improvements in devices from now on. So I am not as excited about the iPhone X as I have been with getting my first iPhone 6 Plus.In terms of looks, the iPhone X looks like a 3 GS mated with an iPhone 4. So we have the nice curved (Chrome on mine) bezel from the iPhone 3GS and the glass back of the iPhone 4. Thus it's hard to get excited about the looks of the case because we've seen it all before. Frankly, I think the best case form factor was the original iPhone/3/3GS with the nice curved back which snuggled in your hand. These new iPhone form factors from 6 onwards, are very slippery and definitely need some form of case. This is essentially a design flaw because the "naked" iPhones always look expensive and well designed, so it's always a shame to hide them away. It's early days yet as far as the lack of a home button goes.I don't really think this will pose a problem in the longer term. What is a bigger problem is a lack of instructions on how to operate the iPhone X with the new gestures. They flash up once, or not at all, then you're stuffed! Last night after I finally remembered my encrypted back up password, I had 20 Apps open and didn't know how to close them! In the end, I had to go on a Mac fan website. This isn't good enough. Why was there no online manual as they've done in the past? I searched iBooks and now, 3 months after launch there still isn't a manual available? I think it's Apple maximising profits. Producing an online manual costs money, like the printed manual they used to supply. Now they demo and inform the review websites and tech journalists and they effectively do Apple's job for them.Face ID....I know that's what you want to know about. I must admit it's pretty cool, if almost magical, how the phone unlocks. It's so unobtrusive that you have to double check it's happened. Of course, this is not new technology using a sensor array that fires beams of individual light at the object/face. Microsoft did it with the Kinect Sensor in the Xbox 360, many moons ago. However, this implementation is very accurate and refined. When I woke up at 0500hrs this morning, in the dark, my phone unlocked at first attempt. They say that the algorithm adapts for glasses, hats, hairstyles and ageing. I have unlocked the phone with neat hair, and bedhead hair (and believe me my hair is wild in the morning!) It's also unlocked with my glasses on and off. I also used it for Apple Pay twice yesterday. The first time was surreal, the second time was simple and much quicker (in terms of the communication between phone and reader) than my old Touch ID 7 Plus. Thus, as far as Face ID goes, it is an improvement. My wife, son and myself have had hours of fun doing funny messages on animoji messaging. It's not exactly a reason to buy this phone, but it's great fun.The super duper pooper OLED Retina screen doesn't seem any better than my old iPhone Retina Screen. My wife still has an iPhone 7 Plus, so I should really compare them, but it hasn't really knocked me back with improvement. The form factor which as everyone knows buy now, allows more screen space than a Plus, in form factor smaller (in height) than a Plus, and not much bigger than the regular size. However, whilst this is true, the width is smaller, and just like the Japanese cars which are precariously over the centre of gravity, the iPhone X doesn't look right. This is because of the height to width ratio looks abnormal. One of the nice things about an iPad is the fact that you can (almost) fit an A4 document in portrait orientation. On the iPhone X, the screen doesn't feel right or comfortable to look at. This impacts the size of the keyboard when typing in portrait. It does however, feel easier to hold than a 7 Plus! The screen isn't a reason to upgrade. There don't seem to be many good quality apps at present which can take advantage of its features. I'm sure this will change over time, as much as I am certain that the iPhone 8 will be the last iPhone with a Home Button (maybe 8S might survive). An iPhone 8 Plus with no home button would be something to get excited about, but I'm still not excited by owning this phone. I have yet to try the camera, but I think it'll be the same high quality that I'm used to.In short, I don't think anyone upgrades unless they're due an upgrade, but if you buy your phone outright, wait until the next iteration comes out!

My favourite iPhone X case to date. This case provides a good balance between protection to the iPhone X, including camera and screen (via raised bevel edges) with allowing the beauty of the phone to shine through via its crystal clear transparent design. The case is a fairly stiff but still pliable flexible plastic, so shouldn't crack too easily. It also appears to evade scratches, helped by the discreet raised corner 'feet' on the rear side. The case is a tight fit and takes a bit of flexing and confidence in fitting it to the iPhone X, infact considerably more in removing it. This helps though to minimise dust ingress around the edges. Having now had the case on my phone for several months,it still looks as new as the day I purchased it and offers good protection to the phone. I keep it clean with a soft microfibre cloth, it's also worth making sure you clean the phone and inside of the case before attaching it so as not to trap any dust or particles inside as they will be visible! The case provides full protection on all sides of the phone, the only apertures (openings) are for the mute toggle switch, lightning port, speakers and camera. The buttons for volume and standby/power are covered but are easily accessible through the case.A high quality and snug fitting transparent case that should resist cracks, scratches and protect your expensive iPhone X.

The Spigen case arrived via next day delivery (nice one, Amazon!) and I also ordered the Spigen toughened glass screen protectors for my iPhone X also. The case is a lot bulkier than I thought it would be from the description. However, it does add grip to the phone, which is needed as the phone is incredibly slippy to handle. The case feels nice with the phone inside and is flexible enough to take impact if/when necessary. The cut outs/covers for the buttons are quite bulky and if you’re looking for a case that makes your phone look aesthetically pleasing, you won’t find it from this case. The back is well protected by the case, alongside the edges and the charging port cut out is in the correct positions on the case, rather than being malaligned like a few cases I’ve encountered. The ‘dot’ effect on the case does take away from the lovely back of the phone. However, if protection and practicality triumph over aesthetics then this case is a darn good effort! If, like me, you’re going for more protection, I would also recommend the Spigen screen protectors. Easy to apply and comes in a neat box with all the necessary wipes and instructions. It is crystal clear and doesn’t leave too much residue from usage and doesn’t detriment from the screen quality in the slightest. All over, both products are excellent value for money.

I wanted a protective case which didn't add a lot of bulk to my new iPhone X, and was transparent to show off the new design.I looked at the usual Apple silicone and leather cases, but they didn't seem to offer any great protection, so I thought I'd buy something cheap whilst I found "the one". Ordered the Spigen case, and it's perfect for what I want, and I'm not planning on changing it.It's soft silicone, so fits snugly to the phone. There's a noticeable lip on the front, which protects the front screen in the event of a drop, and the same on the back by the rear camera. The corners and edges are slightly built up for drop protection. The case does not affect the operation of the buttons in any way,and the mute switch is still easily accessible with the case on. When fitted, the case makes the phone easier to grip, and much less slippery.I've been using the case for a week now, and it's still unmarked - sometimes clear cases get scratched and look terrible in a short period of time, but this looks new. A colleague accidentally knocked my phone off a desk onto a hard concrete floor yesterday, and despite me being nervous as I picked it up (it landed face down!), it was unmarked. All in all, a great case for the money. I'll be keeping an eye on Spigen stuff in the future.

I don’t normally write reviews but felt this needed me to do so.I normally buy designer cases (Pretty Green, Fred Perry, Adidas etc) for my phones and got the IPhone X 256GB Silver on launch day. Came on here to find a case and saw this, ordering it next day delivery to an amazon locker (which is amazing may I add, as is prime).I opted for a clear and see-through case because the silver IPhone X is beautiful with a stunning back so wanted to be able to see it still. I’ve had cases before which are bendy and made from plastic and offer no protection and your phone literally falls out this however is not the case here! This case is a perfect combo of soft but hard shell, there is no way the phone could fall out it has air protection technology on all the corners (a little air bubble in the case as everybody knows any phones weak spot are the corners). The only slight downside would be it’s hard to get the phone out once fitted, but I guess that’s a good thing as it shows how durable and protecting the case is. So happy with my purchase and worth every penny.Highly recommended.**I hope you found this helpful and if anybody has any questions or wants to speak to me before purchasing, feel free. Happy to help**

so i’ve had this case on my phone for a few months now, previously i spent £50/£60 on a rhinoshield and thought this one looked so similar that i would try it for my new iphone X and it has not disappointed. every time i’ve dropped it it’s not got a single mark on it (i’ve also got the screen protector on as well) and this weekend i put it to the ultimate test and accidentally (and stupidly) dropped it from a rooftop bar which was two storeys up onto a concrete path and it was absolutely fine. barely a scratch on the back of the case and you wouldn’t even know to look at the case it had been droppedi cannot recommend this case & glass screen protector enough!!!honestly have no idea how my phone survived but thank you so much spigen!!it’s also a really lovely smooth finish, feels much more premium than my previous more expensive case. and i’m so pleased i made the switch!! i couldn’t make up my mind when i was looking i was worried that as it was less than half the price altogether (for case and screen shield) that it might not protect it enough but wow so impressed!hope this helps anyone who is undecided! :)

Bought this to replace the exact same previously purchased cover as with the amount of use my phone gets it had become aged. I bought the same cover because I was 110 percent happy with the previous one and am not disappointed with this new one. It is a sturdy, robust cover that cushions my iPhone all around, as it has good protective silicone edges and a sturdy hard rear case. I love the fact that at the front the cover protrudes slightly from the surface, so protecting the glass front if you should unfortunately drop your phone. I can vouch for this sturdiness as I have dropped my phone on numerous occasions onto concrete, expecting to find my phone shattered or at least scratched, but this cover along with a tempered glass screen cover I purchased has kept my phone looking like new. Would definitely recommend as I think this is an excellent product and will be purchasing again when needed. Ps. There was nothing wrong with the old cover other than I wanted a new one, it was still just as robust and protective, which shows what excellent quality it is.

So it took me about two weeks to finally decide on purchasing this spigen case. I read so many reviews for this case and the ringke fusion case. Ive had both this ultra hybrid case and ringke fusion case for my iphones since iphone 5! But this is my first case for the XS! Dont believe everything you read... because this case DOES fit the iphone XS. You have to follow the instructions on how to put the case on otherwise you will fail like i did the first time i tried to put the case on. Once you follow the simple instructions it will fit perfectly! And i read comments that the stainless steel bezel is scratched by putting this case on... NO IT DOES NOT SCRATCH THE PHONE.Ive put it on and taken it off twice already and i only had the case delivered an hour ago. Im very happy with this purchase so far! Im going to take photos using another iphone and upload them so you can see what it looks like.Definately recommend if youre looking for a clear iphone XS case!!!

This is a really well made, very protective case which I would recommend. It has a bumper around the screen, so the glass would not touch a table if lying face down. The back is fully covered with perspex, and again the camera lens is slightly recessed from the surface, so it has an element of protection when the camera lens is face down.It fits well, very snugly.Passes my "jeans pocket test" so is easy to slip in and out of a pocket without snagging. The only issue is it is slightly heavier than others I have tried, but there is then the price you say of reduced protection. But then the iPhone X is a larger and heavier phone than say, the 6 - and given if you are upgrading you are saying you are prepared to pay that sacrifice, then this shouldn't be a major issue.I did move to a slimmer cover for my iPhone X for a few days, but just felt the level of protection was so minimal, its not worth having, and went back to this.I would highly recommend it.

First of all I’m a big fan of Spigen, I’ve had all their cases from my iPhone 5 and iPhone 7 and now XS. It’s very easy to hold, if it’s anything like the other cases it should protect it from small to medium drops. My few minor gripes are there is an increase in branding around the case, “designed in California, made in South Korea #3” takes up half of the right side, “Spigen” on the left and “Air cushion technology” on the top. I don’t remember this much from my older cases. It also came slightly scuffed, I was hoping it was just the protective film which is on both sides but there was a 1cm scuff left after on the rear of the case. Other than that it looks and feels great, very easy to hold and really shows off the iPhone XS. I don’t feel as cautious with it now and can plonk it down happily. It is also ridiculously clear, yes it yellows eventually but so do all clear cases and for this price I’ll happily buy another one in 10 months or so.

Pros: Minimalist and classy looking, has good protection around the screen (compatible with anker screen protector that I’m currently using). Ample space for port and speakers.Cons: Fingerprints and smudges detract from the overall look (I know it is to be expected from a clear case) but for some reason other clear cases I had before are not as grimy as this one. However this is easily solved with wiping onto a cloth so I should stop moaning. I haven’t experienced any drops but I’ve had near misses mostly because it is on the slippery side. I’d say this is my main gripe with this case. It also feels a bit bulky on the sides but not to the point it becomes uncomfortable to hold. This is in comparison to the Otterbox symmetry.Overall I’d say this case is good value for money. Only time will tell if it will get discoloured. Will edit this post.

i discovered the phone case while looking at the style ring and decided to try it out after seeing good reviews. I've never looked back! i have gone from replacing my phone screen nearly monthly to having a phone that is still in pristine condition even after two years. the crystal clear phone case enhances the look of the X, so you are able to showcase your phone while keeping it protected. i will note that it yellows after over a year as it's constantly contact with hands but i just replace it as i love the crystal clear look. honestly you can't beat the price and quality- i've already used this on over three phones and have no intention of switching to another brand.i will mention i used to pay £40+ for T***21 cases but i can tell honestly tell you spiegen cases are just as good, if not better.

I needed a case quickly to protect my new iPhone X, but didn’t want to spend a fortune on the “heavy Duty” cases I’ve needed before. It was originally purchased as a stop gap before splashing out on something more expensive. Here I am three months later, and it’s not only still going strong, but a couple of accidental “butter fingers” moments have offered protection that would undoubtedly have resulted in costly repairs. The case (and phone) spend all day in a dash mounted cradle in my car, and if I’m honest, the “clear” case has suffered minimal discolouration, but it doesn’t matter at all, as it gives the aluminium phone shell a gold tint, and makes it look like I’ve splashed out on a gold plated iPhone. So glad I didn’t spend more on a heavy case I didn’t need.

I have been using this product heavily for the last 3 months, and seems like a great product.Design: The design is such that it really shows off the already stylish back glass of the iPhone X, the case gives a nice black outline around the phone and keeps up with the elegance of the iPhone X. The clear back panel, does pick up dust and finger prints but a quick wipe down will solve this issue.Protection: So far I have bumped, dropped, thrown (accidentally), kicked (also accidentally), and had my phone fall onto my face on numerous occasions. The phone and the case are both remarkably intact with no signs of damage.Bottom line: I bought a second one of these as a gift for someone,as I was so happy with the one I had for myself.
