The premise of the game:Split into teams. One person puts the mouthpiece in - it's like when you go to the orthodontist (for those fellow peeps out there who had braces!) and it pulls your mouth open. You read from the cards and the other people in your team have to guess what you're saying within the allocated time.It can also be played how you like. For instance, I played it with one person reading the cards and everyone trying to guess - basically a quick-fire round to see how many you can read successfully. The mouthpiece - It kind of looks like a giant dummy but be careful putting it in. If you put it too far to the top of your mouth then it can scrape against your gums and will hurt.Pull it down using the handle to make sure it's comfortable. The fun! The spit! The spray! Obviously it's going to be quite gooey with saliva going everywhere but that's part of the fun. You'll also look more closely at your friend's/family's teeth! It's a fun laugh but can get sore after a while and make sure you wash the mouth pieces!

Even the publicity blurb by Hasbro describes this party game as ridiculous – and I cannot agree more – but it’s extremely funny in an entertaining way. The box it is supplied in contains 5 mouth-pieces, 2 sets of cards with short sentences, and a timer; and the idea is for participants to take it in turns to squeeze a moulded plastic mouth-piece into the mouth and then attempt to read words from the cards, within egg-timer limit.Sound becomes grossly distorted and often gets drowned out by the participant laughing, but a point is scored when the wording is deciphered, and the card is retained for counting later as individuals or teams – most cards won is the winner.I can’t understand why the game is targeted at 16+ years old, but I’ve just had a New Year party with grandparents, their children and grandchildren and all took part. It was certainly ridiculous – and hilarious as everyone enjoyed themselves – but I’m knocking off a star as the hard plastic mouth-pieces are just too uncomfortable – hence 4-star rating.

This is a bit of a daft game, it's basically read out a phrase on a card with a mouth suppressor in so you can't say the words correctly. If you've ever watched Celebrity Juice then it's a little like the game "don't show Keith your teeth".You spilt into two teams and have to say the (sometimes rude) phrases until the egg timer (supplied) runs out. That's all there is to it - it's not rocket science but it's great fun to play in short bursts. It's not going to be something that has a lot of long term use, especially as it only has 200 cards (to be fair they are double sided) and you soon start to learn some of the answers if you play it for a while. It comes with 5 mouth pieces and you use give them a wash after use to ensure it's hygienic. It's good fun for infrequent use but it's not a family game due to some of the content on the cards.

Had this game as a Christmas Present but was bought elsewhere. Well what a laugh we had, especially with the facial looks and sounds when trying to read out the quotes. A few times some of sounds sounded like swear words, but it wasn't that often. Although there is an age limit on the game, my 9 year old niece played and she played well. In fact she was funny as she was pulling funny faces and trying to express herself it's her hands. As my dad stutter quite badly, we didn't think he would play, but he was up for it and he played. ( we did give him more time!!) Only trouble was.... got through a lot of kitchen roll as there was a lot of dribble!!!!. Once you got used to the mouth piece, didn't think they were too bad. Very good game and a really good laugh.

Incredibly daft but entertaining and contagiously funny. My game arrived promptly and looks the real thing - from Amazon - to review. My initial concerns were over the mouth guard - and that's down to you - to keep them scrupulously clean !As if you didn't know, you insert the mouthguard and try to read the phrase, being restricted by the mouthguard. It's all just very silly and funny.Just the type of thing at Christmas when everyone is feeling a bit bored of tv ... I will enjoy playing it with my uber competitive relatives because there's absolutely no skill involved and probably just a few glasses of wine will jolly things along.5 mouthguards, 200 cards, 1 timer Enjoy!

I love this game and predict a huge demand for Christmas so get yours early !I played this at a friends house a group of adults, the age recommended is 16+The idea is by wearing the mouth piece you cannot talk properly so reading the cards out is difficult. The other players have to guess what your saying. If you can even get to playing the game before collapsing laughing, there was just something instantly funny about this.Cards "pelicans love pollywog falafels"Contains 5 mouthpieces ( can be washed in warm soapy water- not suitable dishwasher) a timer and 200 double sided cardsprice is jumping about a bit a moment but twenty pounds about right

I think Speak Out is going to be one of those 'must have' games following Pie Face's success last year. The game comes with two stacks of cards, a salt timer and five plastic mouth pieces. The whole point of them is to get what's been said within a time frame and having a laugh at the same time. This game isn't for those who don't like silly childish games. Age wise - teenage kids and above are ok to play this game. The plastic contraptions that you have to stick in your mind appear to be robust. We honestly had tears streaming down our cheeks.Needless to say, it is a silly game - best served with alcohol.

This is a good, fun game. It is marked as ages 16+ as there are rude words and also the size of the mouthpieces are too large for a child. I assume this is this year's Pie Face game although we played it after a few drinks and it was a real good laugh. It is easy to start playing but quite difficult to understand what people are saying, hence the hilarity. Overall, this is a silly party game for adults, the mouthpieces take a bit of getting used to but once you are away it is great fun. This is a review of the Hasbro game, and not any of the 'rip offs' that I have been reading about.

I love games like this which everyone can get involved in. Many games require you to answer general knowledge questions so young kids often can't play. This one is funny no matter what your age and every member of the family can join in.It's a brilliant game and will have you in fits of laughter watching your friends and relatives struggle with the mouthpiece. Kids will find it hilarious. It's a great one to buy at Christmas time because it's a perfect way to bond and have a joke around with the family. This is one that everyone will enjoy.

The rest of these reviews are complete and utter nonsense. You are supposed to review the product - not whinge about the price stopping you from buying it. Most of the people selling are third-party sellers in any case!If you can find this game at the recommended retail price of £19.99ish, I would thoroughly recommend it - it's also incredibly fun to play after a glass or two (it is for 16+, after all!) or if you've got slightly older kids, it'd work with them too. Huge amount of fun - thoroughly recommend grabbing it when it's back in stock!

Despite some people worrying this was the official Speak Out game with the Hasbro logo on it and of high quality. The game is frankly hilarious, I wasn't actually that much of a fan of the idea but as the 2016 replacement for Pie Face this Christmas this is hilarious, we had a few Corona and an hour of dribbling and laughing in the lounge. Very easy to play, harder to do than you think and definitely get the mobiles out for pictures and videos of your friends in tears. Really fun game for over 16's.

This is quite a fun party game. I am not certain of the longevity but for the odd game at a party it is quite good. The components are all of a decent standard and hopefully won't quickly be broken. I can't really comment on the price but Iwill say that there are lots of more DIY versions of this game out there. Mouth guards are very cheap and obviously you can think of phrases yourself or easily get them off the internet.

I was looking for a game for my family and I to play around Christmas time and this was recommended by a friend.Simple and easy game to play, lots of cards so you are not repeating the same phrases and comes with 5 mouth pieces. We were not disappointed with game and it has provided many hours of entertainment.Only issue was that some of the cards have spelling mistakes. (E.g. popvorn instead of popcorn)

Absolutely brilliant game to play with a group of people. You get many of the mouth pieces and they are reasonably easy to clean once finished with. We played this as a sort of drinking game between couples. Some people did complain the mouthpieces hurt a little but it really depends on how you use them, there are ways around them. Well worth the money. A new stable board game in my house!

Great family fun game. Was bought for Xmas a couple of years ago and has stood the time of lots of play. The mouth openers are still good. I did have to buy smaller ones the younger members of family and friends who were playing but an excellent game all round. Lots of belly laughter trying to work out the sentence being read as mouth bits stop your lips from forming the words.
